| 1 | Antioxidant and antipyretic properties of methanolic extract of Amaranthus spinosus leaves显示文摘Objective:Methanolic extract of Amaranthus spinosus(A.spinosus) leaves was screened for antioxidant and antipyretic activities.Methods:Antioxidant activity was measured by l,l-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazile(DPPH) free radical scavenging,superoxide anion radical scavenging,hydroxyl free radical scavenging,nitric oxide radical scavenging,2,2 -azinobis-3- ethylbenzothiazole-6-sulfonic acid(ABTS) radical scavenging assays and total phenolic content was also determined.Antipyretic activity of methanolic extract of A.spinosus was measured by yeast induced pyrexia method at concentration of 200 and 400 mg/kg using paracetamol as standard drug.Results:Methanolic extract of A.spinosus showed potent antioxidant activity.The IC50 value was(87.50±3.52)μg/mL,(98.80±1.40)μg/mL,(106.25±0.20)μg/mL,(88.70±0.62)μg/mL and(147.50±2.61)μg/mL for DPPH,superoxide,hydroxyl,nitric oxide and ABTS radical scavenging activities.Methanolic extract of A spinosus showed significant(P<0.01) antipyretic activity. | Bagepalli Srinivas Ashok Kumar Kuruba Lakshman Jayaveera KN Devangam Sheshadri Shekar Avalakondarayappa Arun Kumar Bachappa Manoj | 2010 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2010,3,9: | 15 |
| 2 | Deep learning approach for microarray cancer data classification显示文摘Analysis of microarray data is a highly challenging problem due to the inherent complexity in the nature of the data associated with higher dimensionality,smaller sample size,imbalanced number of classes,noisy data-structure,and higher variance of feature values.This has led to lesser classification accuracy and over-fitting problem.In this work,the authors aimed to develop a deep feedforward method to classify the given microarray cancer data into a set of classes for subsequent diagnosis purposes.They have used a 7-layer deep neural network architecture having various parameters for each dataset.The small sample size and dimensionality problems are addressed by considering a well-known dimensionality reduction technique namely principal component analysis.The feature values are scaled using the Min-Max approach and the proposed approach is validated on eight standard microarray cancer datasets.To measure the loss,a binary cross-entropy is used and adaptive moment estimation is considered for optimisation.The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated using classification accuracy,precision,recall,f-measure,log-loss,receiver operating characteristic curve,and confusion matrix.A comparative analysis with state-of-the-art methods is carried out and the performance of the proposed approach exhibit better performance than many of the existing methods. | Hema Shekar Basavegowda Guesh Dagnew | 2020 | CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2020,5,1: | 3 |
