1Comparison of the community structure of planktonic bacteria in ballast water from entry ships and local sea water in Xiamen Port显示文摘In this study, the bacterial community structures in samples of ballast water collected from a ship from Singapore and of local sea water collected from Xiamen Port were compared using restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) and 16S rDNA sequence analysis. Except for dominant a-Proteobacteria that are common to both systems, the bacterial community structures of the two systems were quite different. Most of the clones derived from the different systems were grouped into different phylogenetic clusters, and the systems share only one common RFLP pattern. The ballast water, which is likely from clean offshore waters, contains sequences specific to aand c-Proteobacteria. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the ballast water contained sequences belonging to attached bacteria and bacteria commonly found in the open sea, as well as many novel sequences. In addition, no known pathogenic bacteria were detected in the ballast water samples. Conversely, water samples from Xiamen Port were apparently affected by the near shore environments. Specifically, in addition to aand c-Proteobacteria, water from Xiamen Port contained band d-Proteobacteria, Synechococcus, Bacteroidetes and Actinobacteria, which are common in coastal environments. Additionally, four pathogenic bacterial sequences and one plasmid sequence of a potential red tide forming alga were detected in the water from Xiamen Port, which suggests that the local sea water is polluted. The results of this study can be used as background information to assess the risk associated with the introduction of non-indigenous species to local systems and to establish ballast water management systems.Ying Ma Hejian Xiong Senming Tang Qingshuang Yang Minjuan Li 2009Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,8:2
2Genesis of lacustrine carbonate breccia and its significance for hydrocarbon exploration in Yingxi region, Qaidam Basin, NW China显示文摘To examine the reservoir type and distribution regularity of high-and stable-yield lacustrine carbonates in the upper Member of Paleogene Xiaganchaigou Formation of Yingxi region and to determine the high-efficiency hydrocarbon exploration direction, the origin and significance of carbonate breccia in this area were investigated based on comprehensive analysis of a large number of well cores, thin sections, rock and mineral testing and log-seismic data. The study reveals that the carbonate breccia has three origins:(1) Sedimentary breccia, formed by the event-related collapse, fragmentation and re-deposition of the early weakly consolidated carbonate rock in the steep slope of underwater paleohighs due to short-term high-energy water body reformation and other geological processes.(2) Diagenetic breccia, with breccia-like structure, formed by deformation or breaking of host rock due to growth of idiomorphic and coarse crystalline gypsum-salt minerals in the weakly consolidated argillaceous carbonate rock of the penecontemporaneous period.(3) Tectonic breccia, can be further divided into fault breccia and interlayer slip breccia according to their occurrence characteristics, both of which are closely related to activity of the Shizigou thrust Fault. With a large number of partially filled pores, vugs and fractures between breccia, the two types of tectonic breccia are high-and stable-yield reservoirs in deep Yingxi region, and may occur extensively under gypsum-salt detachment layers of adjacent areas, so they are the exploration targets in the next step. Sedimentary breccia and diagenetic breccia are of great significance in searching for large-scale carbonate reservoirs.WANG Yanqing LIU Zhanguo SONG Guangyong ZHANG Yongshu ZHU Chao LI Senming WANG Peng TANG Pengcheng 2019Petroleum Exploration and Development2019,46,1:0

4Phytoplankton changes during SE monsoonal period in the Lembeh Strait of North Sulawesi, Indonesia, from 2012 to 2015显示文摘Phytoplankton species composition and abundance in the Lembeh Strait waters was studied in four cruises of April 2013, May 2014, June 2012 and October 2015, during the period of monsoon transition time of SE monsoon. With data obtained the seasonal alternations of phytoplankton community structures and its driving factors were discussed. A total of 416 taxa belonging to 5 classes of phytoplankton were recorded in the four month surveys.Phytoplankton density was averaged 2 348 cell/L and diatoms and dinoflagellates had the most diversified species. Cyanobacterium was characterized by its low species numbers but high abundance in the waters of Lembeh Strait. Total phytoplankton abundance occurred low in April and October in the monsoon transition period and it raised high in May and June during the SE monsoon. Frequently occurred species were pelagic diatoms in addition to cyanobacterium Trichodesmium. Abundance and diversity of phytoplankton significantly differed seasonally. The diatoms Thalassionema and Pseudo-nitzschia, and cyanobacterium Trichodesmium contributed most to the community dissimilarities. Due to potentially higher nutrient supply in the south of Lembeh Strait, diatoms and dinoflagellates showed higher densities in the south than in the north of the strait.Though, cyanobacterium preferred distributing much evenly in all waters, it had higher density in the southern Lembeh Strait. Total phytoplankton abundance is quite low compared with the Jakarta Bay and some bays in China. Analysis showed that nutrients from upwelling forced by SE monsoon are the key factor varying the monthly phytoplankton abundances. Due to its primitive nature state, Lembeh water can be an ideal location for the study of pelagic ecosystem under merely the influence of macro environment changes with lower background noise from human activities.TANG Senming RACHMAN Arief FITRIA Nurul THOHA Hikmah CHEN Bin 2018Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,12:0
5Multivariate analysis for ordination and comparison of size of Artemia cysts显示文摘It is known that the biometrics of brine shrimp cysts is of strain inherent. The analysis and comparison of the cyst charcters for the identification of unknown cysts from different geqraphical origin become mpible. In this paper, multivallate methods, mainly Principle Component Analysis (PCA) and Nonmetric Multi-dimensional Scaling (MDS), are used for the purpose. od results are gained with the analysis of the published data and some row data from cyst sizes. It shows that multivariate methods can cluster the similar characteristics of batch cysts and make out impure or mingled cysts of different origin. Amng others, MDS, with row data from the cyst measurement, can be easily used for the analysis of cyst ordination and comparison. The result demonstrates that the cysts of Chinese parthenopnetic brine shrimp are well discriminated by their geographic locations along the coastal China with larger size disttibuting in the south.Tang Senming (Third Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration, Xiamen 361005, China) 1998Acta Oceanologica Sinica1998,17,4:0
