On the occurrence of Neoplanorbulinella Matsumaru, 1976(Foraminifera) from the late Oligocene of Central Iran(Qom Formation):Palaeobiogeographic implications显示文摘The shallow marine carbonates of the upper Oligocene Qom Formation yielded several occurrences of the foraminiferan genus Neoplanorbulinella Matsumaru. Neoplanorbulinella saipanensis Matsumaru has so far been recorded from the late Eocene-early Miocene of Japan and late Oligocene of NE Italy whereas N. malatyaensis Gedik is only reported from the Oligocene from its type locality in the Malatya Basin, eastern Turkey. The new records reported here from the Qom Formation indicate that both species occur in the Dobaradar section, ca. 10 km south of the city of Qom in North-Central Iran. The palaeogeographic distribution of these two species therefore has to be extended as far as the palaeolongitude of current Central Iran. The accompanying larger benthic foraminifers, including Miogypsinoides complanatus(Schlumberger),M. formosensis Yabe and Hanzawa, Spiroclypeus margaritatus(Schlumberger), Operculina complanata(Defrance), and Risananeiza pustulosa Boukhary et al., indicate the upper Chattian SBZ 23 Zone. The coexistence of the N. saipanensis and N. malatyaensis points to suitable palaeobiogeographic conditions of Central Iran to host Western and Eastern Tethyan taxa. | Mehdi Sarfi Mohsen Yazdi-Moghadam | 2024 | Journal of Palaeogeography2024,13,1: | 0
Postmiogypsinella intermedia Sirel and Gedik 2011 from the upper Oligocene of Central Iran(Qom Formation):Paleogeography and paleoenvironmental implications显示文摘Postmiogypsinella intermedia Sirel and Gedik,2011 is reported for the first time from the shallow-marine limestones of the upper Chattian Qom Formation,Central Iran. This miogypsinid species has so far only been recorded from the upper Oligocene of Malatya(type locality)and Sivas(Central Anatolia)in eastern Turkey and from the upper Oligocene of the Prebetic Domain,SE Spain. The new record from Central Iran, paleobiogeographically located at the Eurasian margin of the Tethyan Seaway between the Western and Eastern Tethys realms, indicates that the paleogeographic distribution of this species has to be extended eastwards as far as Central Iran. This observation is not unexpected, since miogypsinid foraminifers with eccentric embryonic-nepionic apparatus(e.g.,Miogypsinella,Miogypsinoides,Miogypsina)are usually widely distributed. The accompanying larger benthic foraminifera, including Miogypsinoides complanatus(Schlumberger),Miogypsinoides formosensis Yabe and Hanzawa,Spiroclypeus margaritatus(Schlumberger),Operculina complanata(Defrance),and Risananeiza pustulosa Boukhary et al.,indicate the late Chattian age(corresponding to SBZ 23 Biozone).Postmiogypsinella intermedia is indicative of a shallow-marine middle ramp environment with oligotrophic conditions and inhabited the relatively deeper part of the photic zone. | Mohsen Yazdi-Moghadam Mehdi Sarfi Mohammad Sharifi Aliakbar Taghipour | 2023 | Journal of Palaeogeography2023,12,2: | 0
Estimation of water content in a power transformer using moisture dynamic measurement of its oil显示文摘Careful monitoring of high voltage equipments and diagnosing the critical conditions before they lead to a disaster are prerequisites of condition-based maintenance.Moisture content in a transformer is regarded as one of the major factors in diagnosing its conditions. It causes many problems for a power transformer including electrical breakdown between either its windings or one winding with neutral, increase in the amount of partial discharge and sundry minor problems.Since paper insulation of a power transformer carries large portion of water content, determining moisture content in this part of the transformer is essential. However, the problem is that the direct measurement of moisture in paper is impossible. Therefore, various methods have been proposed to measure the moisture content in a transformer but each one has its limitations. In this study,an approach is introduced to measure water content in a transformer by analysing the moisture dynamics in oil, tracking its variations and analysis of parameters such as temperature, without necessity of disconnecting the transformer from the power grid. | Vahid Sarfi Saeed Mohajeryami Alireza Majzoobi | 2017 | High Voltage2017,2,1: | 0
A multiple criteria analysis of factors affecting markets of engineered wood products with respect to customer preferences: a case study of particleboard and MDF显示文摘Of considerable importance and a principal goal in business is the creation of customer satisfaction. Evalu- ation of end user preferences for producers of particleboard and medium density fiberboard (MDF) requires indices for the assessment of markets and modification of product quality. However, only sporadic research has been carried out in this field. Therefore, the goal of this survey was to identify indices with respect to the points of view of: 1) consumers in order to select particleboard and MDF, 2) suppliers in order to consider production strategies, improve product quality, improve competitive ability of domestic producers in the market and help industry to be more customer oriented. This survey consisted of two stages. In the first stage, factors affecting customer preferences in the selection of particleboard and MDF were determined using a Delphi method, with the help of experts and a group of principal users of these prod- ucts. Then these factors were categorized in three groups: qualitative, technical and technological and marketing factors. Furthermore, questionnaires were prepared and distributed among consumers and responses evaluated and weighted by using an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) using expert choice software. Our results show that at both stages, the consistency ratio was less than 0.1, indicating that all results and judgments were stable and acceptable. The results obtained from questionnaires about particleboard rank the priorities for factors in the selection by consumers as follows: nail and screw holding ability, homogeneity in structure, edge strength of panel, durability and bending strength. The most important factors for MDF were machinability of panels, homogeneity in structure, nail and screw holding ability, edge strength of panel, durability and bending strength. | Fatemeh SARFI Majid AZIZI Amin ARIAN | 2013 | Forestry Studies in China2013,15,1: | 0
Integrated Biostratigraphy, Depositional Setting and Geochemical Analyses for Petroleum Potential Evaluation of the Lower Cretaceous(Barremian – Albian) Strata of the Koppeh-Dagh Basin, Northeastern Iran显示文摘The lower Cretaceous rock units of the Koppeh-Dagh Basin of northeastern Iran were investigated here in terms of biostratigraphy, depositional setting and geochemical analyses to find out if they, alike other parts of the world, are rich in petroleum. For this purpose,a stratigraphic framework is established using calcareous nannofossil and palynological elements.A nannoplankton zonation based on which subzones of the zones CC7–CC8 of Sissingh(1977)and their equivalent NC6–NC8 of Roth(1978)was established indicating a Late Barremian–Albian age.Palynological assemblages led us to establish the local palynozone of Odontochitina operculata.A dominantly marginal basin to a transitional zone between shelf and basin under a dysoxic–anoxic condition with low to moderate sedimentation rates coincided with a gradual sea level rise was introduced as the environment of deposition for the strata via interpretation of the palynological parameters and quantitative palynology. The obtained data from Rock-Eval pyrolysis in compilation with palynofacies analysis reveals that the studied succession contains mainly gas-prone type III kerogen. The Spore Coloration Index(SCI)alongside with the Rock-Eval pyrolysis results(low values of HI and TOC)proves that these rock units locally produced natural gas during the time under consideration. | Sharifi MOHAMMAD Foroughi FARIBA Ghasemi-Nejad EBRAHIM Shekarifard ALI Yazdi-Moghadam MOHSEN Sarfi MEHDI | 2019 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,6: | 0
