1Modeling of hot deformation behavior and prediction of flow stress in a magnesium alloy using constitutive equation and artificial neural network(ANN)model显示文摘The aim of the present study was to investigate the modeling and prediction of the high temperature flow characteristics of a cast magnesium(Mg-Al-Ca)alloy by both constitutive equation and ANN model.Toward this end,hot compression experiments were performed in 250-450℃and in strain rates of 0.001-1 s^(−1).The true stress of alloy was first and foremost described by the hyperbolic sine function in an Arrhenius-type of constitutive equation taking the effects of strain,strain rate and temperature into account.Predictions indicated that unlike low strain rates and high temperature with dominant DRX activation,in relatively high strain rate and low temperature values,the precision of the models become decreased due to activation of twinning phenomenon.At that moment and for a better evaluation of twinning effect during deformation,a feed-forward back propagation ANN was developed to study the flow behavior of the investigated alloy.Then,the performance of the two suggested models has been assessed using a statistical criterion.The comparative assessment of the gained results specifies that the well-trained ANN is much more precise and accurate than the constitutive equations in predicting the hot flow behavior.S.Aliakbari Sani G.R.Ebrahimi H.Vafaeenezhad A.R.Kiani-Rashid 2018Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2018,6,2:12
2Hot deformation behavior and dynamic recrystallization kinetics of AZ61 and AZ61+Sr magnesium alloys显示文摘In this study,the effect of strontium addition on hot deformation of AZ61 alloy was investigated by hot compression tests.A reference alloy(AZ61)and an Sr-containing alloy(AZ61+Sr)was cast while their average initial grain size were supposed to be about 140 and 40μm,respectively.In AZ61+Sr alloy,the Sr-containing precipitations were stable at homogenization temperature.Analysing the hot compression curves,it was revealed that dynamic recrystallization phenomenon had occurred and controlled the thermomechanical behaviour of the alloys.The derived constitutive equations showed that the hot deformation parameters(n and Q)in AZ61+Sr alloy is smaller than those of AZ61 alloy;this can be related to the small initial grain size and the lower amounts of solute aluminium atoms.The analysis of DRX kinetics along with the micrographs of the deformed microstructures showed that at the same condition the development of DRXed microstructure in AZ61+Sr alloy was faster than AZ61 alloy.The increased recrystallized microstructure was interpretated to be attributed to(1)the more grain boundaries present and(2)the existance of the Al-Mg-Sr precipitations assisted the PSN mechanism.Also,the attenuated intensity of the basal texture of AZ61+Sr was related to the DRX fraction of microstructure.S.Aliakbari Sani G.R.Ebrahimi A.R.Kiani Rashid 2016Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2016,4,2:7
3Synthesis of ion imprinted polymers for selective recognition and separation of rare earth metals显示文摘Lanthanide-ion imprinted polymers(L-IIPs) were synthesized by stoichiometric amounts of rare earth ions and the cavities in the polymers were created for the corresponding lanthanide ions. The maximum sorption capacities were estimated to be 125.3, 126.5, 127.6, 128.2 and 129.1 mg/g for Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu and Gd, respectively at p H 6. In the selectivity study, the L-IIPs exhibited good selectivity to the specific rare earth ions in the presence of coexisting cations. 5Integrated use of GIS, remote sensing and multi-criteria decision analysis to assess ecological land suitability in multi-functional forestry显示文摘The Zagros forests are a treasure of valuable oak forests,but they have been severely degraded from long-term misuse.Geographic information systems(GIS)and multi-criteria decision analysis(MCDA) have been increasingly used to improve the management of vulnerable ecosystems to prevent further degradation and increase the sustainability of land use.This study presents a methodology to assess land suitability using remote sensing(RS) to obtain wall-to-wall data for the calculations,GIS to analyze the data,and MCDA to rank alternative land uses.The criteria and subcriteria affecting the suitability of land for different uses were identified and weighted using an analytic hierarchy process.Variables used as subcriteria were assessed using satellite data and other sources of information such as existing maps and field surveys.Numerical values for the subcriteria were classified,and each class was given a priority rating according to expert judgments.Based on the ratings and weights of the subcriteria,a priority map was created for each land use using the weighted linear combination method.The priority maps for different land uses were overlaid to obtain a preliminary land use map,which often indicated several simultaneous land uses for the same location.The preliminary map was further edited by removing unrealistic,mutually exclusive land-use combinations.The study tested and demonstrated the potential of integrating RS,GIS and MCDA techniques for solving complicated land allocation problems in forested regions using a scientifically sound and practical approach for efficient and sustainable allocation of forestland for different uses.Naser Ahmadi Sani Sasan Babaie Kafaky Timo Pukkala Asadollah Mataji 2016Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,5:5

8Investigation on the homogenization treatment and element segregation on the microstructure of a γ/γ′-cobalt-based superalloy显示文摘The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of element segregation on the microstructure and γ′ phase in a γ/γ′ cobalt-based superalloy. Several samples were prepared from a cast alloy and homogenized at 1300°C for different times, with a maximum of 24 h. A microstructural study of the cast alloy using wavelength-dispersive spectroscopic analysis revealed that elements such as Al, Ti, and Ni segregated mostly within interdendritic regions, whereas W atoms were segregated within dendrite cores. With an increase in homogenization time, segregation decreased and the initial dendritic structure was eliminated. Field-emission scanning electron microscopy micrographs showed that the γ′ phases in the cores and interdendritic regions of the as-cast alloy were 392 and 124 nm, respectively. The size difference of γ′ was found to be due to the different segregation behaviors of constituent elements during solidification. 9Prevalence and risk factors associated with malaria infection among pregnant women in a semi-urban community of north-western Nigeria显示文摘Background:Malaria during pregnancy remains a serious public health problem,with substantial risks for the mother,her foetus and the newborn.The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of malaria and possible risk factors for malaria infection among pregnant women in a semi-urban area in north-western Nigeria.Pregnant women are among the most susceptible to malaria infection.Knowledge of their malaria infection status is an important yardstick to measure the effectiveness of any malaria control programme.Methods:We conducted a cross sectional study in the semi-urban area of Argungu,Kebbi State Nigeria.Two hundred and fifty five pregnant women were included in the study after informed verbal consent was obtained.For each participant,the socio-demographic profile,stage of pregnancy and attitude to the use of insecticide-treated nets(ITNs)were investigated using a questionnaire.Peripheral blood samples were collected and thick blood smears were prepared and stained with Giemsa stains to check for malaria parasitaemia.The associations between age,education level and use of ITNs with occurrence of malaria infection during pregnancy were analysed using the chi-square test.Results:One hundred and six(41.6%)out of 255 pregnant women were infected with malaria parasites,with a mean parasite density of 800 parasitesμl−1.It was found that prevalence and parasite density decreased as age increased.The chi-square test indicated that a lack of education and non-usage of ITNs were significantly associated with malaria infection.Conclusion:Malaria is still a major public health issue among pregnant women mainly due to illiteracy and non-compliance to using ITNs.Increasing awareness about malaria preventive measures and early attendance of antenatal care services will help to reduce malaria and,consequently,its associated morbidities and mortalities.Sani Abdullahi Fana Mohammed Danladi Abubakar Bunza Sule Aliyu Anka Asiya Umar Imam Shehu Usman Nataala 2015Infectious Diseases of Poverty2015,4,1:4
10A Novel Distributed Optimal Adaptive Control Algorithm for Nonlinear Multi-Agent Differential Graphical Games显示文摘In this paper, an online optimal distributed learning algorithm is proposed to solve leader-synchronization problem of nonlinear multi-agent differential graphical games. Each player approximates its optimal control policy using a single-network approximate dynamic programming(ADP) where only one critic neural network(NN) is employed instead of typical actorcritic structure composed of two NNs. The proposed distributed weight tuning laws for critic NNs guarantee stability in the sense of uniform ultimate boundedness(UUB) and convergence of control policies to the Nash equilibrium. In this paper, by introducing novel distributed local operators in weight tuning laws, there is no more requirement for initial stabilizing control policies. Furthermore, the overall closed-loop system stability is guaranteed by Lyapunov stability analysis. 11A review of chemical absorption of carbon dioxide for biogas upgrading显示文摘Significant attention has been given to biogas production, purification and upgrading as a renewable and clean fuel supplement. Biogas is a product of an anaerobic digestion process comprising methane, carbon dioxide,and trace amounts of other gases. Biogas purification removes trace gases in biogas for safe utilisation. Biogas upgrading produces methane-rich biogas by removing bulk carbon dioxide from the gas mixture. Several carbon dioxide removal techniques can be applied for biogas upgrading. However, chemical absorption of carbon dioxide for biogas upgrading is of special significance due to its operation at ambient or near ambient temperature and pressure, thus reducing energy consumption. This paper reviews the chemical absorption of carbon dioxide using amine scrubbing, caustic solvent scrubbing, and amino acid salt solution scrubbing. Each of these techniques for biogas upgrading is discussed. The paper concludes that an optimised implementation of the chemical absorption techniques for biogas upgrading requires further research.Fouad R.H. 13A Novel All-Optical Sensor Design Based on a Tunable Resonant Nanocavity in Photonic Crystal Microstructure Applicable in MEMS Accelerometers显示文摘In view of the large scientific and technical interest in the microelectromechanical system(MEMS)accelerometer sensor and the limitations of capacitive,resistive piezo,and piezoelectric methods,we focus on the measurement of the seismic mass displacement using a novel design of the all-optical sensor(AOS).The proposed AOS consists of two waveguides and a ring resonator in a two-dimensional rod-based photonic crystal(PhC)microstructure,and a holder which connects the central rod of a nanocavity to a proof mass.The photonic band structure of the AOS is calculated with the plane-wave expansion approach for TE and TM polarization modes,and the light wave propagation inside the sensor is analyzed by solving MaxwelFs equations using the finite-difference time-domain method.The results of our simulations demonstrate that the fundamental PhC has a free spectral range of about 730 nm covering the optical communication wavelength-bands.Simulations also show that the AOS has the resonant peak of 0.8 at 1.644μm,quality factor of 3288,full width at half maximum of 0.5nm,and figure of merit of 0.97.Furthermore,for the maximum 200nm nanocavity displacements in the x-or y-direction,the resonant wavelengths shift to 1.618μm and 1.547μm,respectively.We also calculate all characteristics of the nanocavity displacement in positive and negative directions of the jc-axis and y-axis.The small area of 104.35μm^(2)and short propagation time of the AOS make it an interesting sensor for various applications,especially in the vehicle navigation systems and aviation safety tools.Mojtaba HOSSEINZADEH SANI Hamed SAGHAEI Mohammad Amin MEHRANPOUR Afsaneh ASGARIYAN TABRIZI 2021Photonic Sensors2021,11,4:2
14In situ biosynthesized silver nanoparticle-incorporated synthesized zeolite A using Orthosiphon aristatus extract for in vitro antibacterial wound healing显示文摘The capability of synthesized zeolite A(SZ)to immobilize Ag ions(Ag-SZ)and Ag nanoparticles(AgNp-SZ)were comparatively studied.A novel approach of in situ biosynthesized AgNP-incorporated synthesized zeolite A(AgNp-SZ)was synthesized at an optimum volume of 0.4mL of the Orthosiphon aristatus(O.aristatus)leaves plant extract(5%)using an in situ approach.In comparison,Ag-Sz was produced by loading the synthesized zeolite with Ag ions.All synthesized materials were characterized for their morphologies and physicochemicalproperties.The characterization analysesvalidate thathe biosynthesized AgNP(<100 nm)using O.aristatus leaves extract was incorporated into the zeolite A.The antibacterial testing confirmed that these materials have antibacterial activity against Escherichia coliATCC11229 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538.MIC/MBC analysis demonstrated that in 0.9%saline solution,AgNP-SZ had higher antibacterial activity than Ag-Sz.The in vitro cell viability and migration assays were further examined towards human skin fibroblast cells HSF 1184.Results show that the materials are not cytotoxicto HSF1184,and the biosynthesized AgNP-SZ promotes cell migration and proliferation higher than Ag-SZ.This research proved that the biocompatible antibacterial wound healing agent of AgNP-SZ can be synthesized using an in situ approach where the reduction process of Ag ions in the zeolite Acan be performed using plant extract.Muhammad Hariz Asraf Nor Suriani Sani Craig Denver Williams Khairunadwa Jemon Nik Ahmad Nizam Nik Maliek 2022Particuology2022,20,8:2
15Abnormal layering of muscularis propria as a cause of chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction:A case report and literature review显示文摘Visceral myopathy is one of the causes of chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction. Most cases pathologically reveal degenerative changes of myocytes or muscularis propia atrophy and fibrosis. Abnormal layering of muscularis propria is extremely rare. We report a case of a 9-mo-old Thai male baby who presented with chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction. Histologic findings showed abnormal layering of small intestinal muscularis propria with an additional oblique layer and aberrant muscularization in serosa. The patient also had a short small bowel without malrotation, brachydactyly,and absence of the 2nd to 4th middle phalanges of both hands. The patient was treated with cisapride and combined parenteral and enteral nutritional support.He had gradual clinical improvement and gained body weight. Subsequently, the parenteral nutrition was discontinued. 17Analysis of optoelectronic properties of TiO_2 nanowiers/Si heterojunction arrays显示文摘The optoelectronic properties of n-TiO2NW/p-Si heterojunction fabricated by depositing TiO2 nanowires on a p-Si substrate are studied. Under excitation at a wavelength of 370 nm, the TiO2 nanowires produce a light emission at 435 nm due to the emission of free excitons. The I–V characteristics are measured to investigate the heterojunction effects under the dark environment and ultraviolet(UV) illumination. n-TiO2NW/p-Si has a p–n junction formed in the n-TiO2/p-Si heterojunction. TiO2NW/Si photodiode produces a photocurrent larger than dark current under UV illumination.
