2Role of preoperative CT colonography in patients with colorectal cancer显示文摘In patients with colorectal cancer(CRC),accurate preoperative evaluation is essential for a correct therapeutic plan.Colonoscopy and intravenous contrastenhanced computed tomography(CT)are currently recommended in the preoperative work-up for CRC.Preoperative colonoscopy has some limitations such as misdiagnosis of synchronous cancers in cases of incomplete exploration of the colon and inaccurate tumor localization.Intravenous contrast-enhanced CT successfully documents distant metastases although it sometimes enables unsatisfactory locoregional staging.Computed tomography colonography(CTC)is obtained after gas insufflation of the colon and offers a comprehensive preoperative evaluation in patients with CRC,including a definition of the segmental location of the tumor,presence of synchronous lesions or lack thereof,and fairly accurate locoregional staging.CTC has some limitations,including a lack of biopsy capability,suboptimal sensitivity for synchronous small polyps,and unsatisfactory nodal staging.Bearing in mind these limitations,CTC could be employed as a'one-stop-shop'examination for preoperative assessment in patients with CRC.Lapo Sali Massimo Falchini Antonio Taddei Mario Mascalchi 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,14:6
3Properties of Steel Slag and Stainless Steel Slag as Cement Replacement Materials:A Comparative Study显示文摘To enhance the understanding about the utilization of steel slags as a cementitious material, we comparatively studied the chemical, mineralogical and morphological properties of two types of steel slag; basicoxygen-furnace carbon slag(BOF C) and electric-arc-furnace stainless steel slag(EAF S). Moreover, we studied the standard consistency, setting time and the effect of the slag replacement ratios on the fluidity and compressive strength of blended cement mortar. The experimental results showed that BOF C had higher alkalinity, higher pH value and more hydraulic phases than EAF S. Both types of slag showed water reduction effect due to its high fineness. Neat BOF C paste showed flash set and acceleration in the initial setting time of blended cement especially at high slag proportions. However, EAF S prolonged the setting time of blended cement even at low slag proportions. The pH values for blended cement contained 50% BOF C or EAF S were lower than those of pure cement paste. Despite of slag type, compressive strength gradually decreased with increasing slags content. The strength of BOF C mortar was higher than that of EAF S mortar with the same replacement ratio for the same age. 6Antioxidant potential,tannin and polyphenol contents of seed and pericarp of three Coffea species显示文摘Objective:To investigate the antioxidant activity,total phenolic and total tannin content of the pericarp and the seed of Coffea benghalensis(C.benghalensis) and Coffea liberica compared to Coffea arabica(C.arabica).Methods:The antioxidant potential,total tannin and polyphenol contents of the immature and mature seed and pericarp of C.benghalensis and Coffea liberica were quantified and compared to C.arabica.Enhanced chemiluminescence(ECL).2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydruzyl(DPPH).oxygen radical absorbance capacity,Folin-Ciocaltcau method and total tannin content assays were used.Results:Trolox equivalent(TE/g plant material) values obtained by ECL and DPPH methods showed loose correlation(r^2=0.587)while those measured by oxygen radical absorbance capacity assay were higher without correlation in each plant.A closer correlation was detected between the ECL method and the percentage antioxidant activity of the DPPH technique(r^2=0.610 7) in each species,however the immature pericarp of C.benghalensis showed much higher DPPH scavenging potential than was seen in the ECL assay.The immature pericarp of C.benghalensis expressed the highest tannin and polyphenol content,and a high polyphenol level was also detected in the immature seed of C.arabica.The immature pericarp of Bengal and Liberian coffees showed the largest amount of phenolic contents.Conclusions:The obtained data highlight the potential role of C.benghalensis as a new source of natural antioxidants and polyphenols compared to C.arabica.va Brigitta Patay Nikolett Sali Tams Kszegi Rita Csepregi Viktória Lilla Blaz Tibor Sebastian Németh Tibor Németh Nóra Papp 2016Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2016,9,4:3
