| 2 | Enzyme-digested Colla Corii Asini(E’jiao) prevents hydrogen peroxide-induced cell death and accelerates amyloid beta clearance in neuronal-like PC12 cells显示文摘As an aging-associated degenerative disease,Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by the deposition of amyloid beta(Aβ),oxidative stress,inflammation,dysfunction and loss of cholinergic neurons.Colla Corii Asini(CCA)is a traditional Chinese medicine which has been used for feebleness-related diseases and anti-aging.CCA might delay aging-induced degenerative changes in neurons.In the present study,we evaluated antioxidant activity,cytoprotective effects,and Aβremovability of enzyme-digested Colla Corii Asini(CCAD).Oxygen radical absorbance capacity(ORAC)activity assay showed that,as compared to gelatins from the skin of porcine,bovine and cold water fish,CCA exhibited the highest ORAC activity.The ORAC activity of CCA and CCAD was increased gradually by the length of time in storage.Ultrastructure analysis by scanning electron microscopy showed that among CCA manufactured in 2008,2013,2017 and gelatin from cold water fish skin,CCA manufactured in 2008 presented the smoothest surface structure.We further tested the protective effects of CCAD(manufactured in 2008)and enzyme-digested gelatin from cold water fish skin(FGD)on hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)-induced cell death in nerve growth factor-differentiated neuronal-like PC12 cells.Presto blue assay showed that both FGD and CCAD at 0.5 mg/m L increased cell viability in H2O2-treated neuronal-like PC12 cells.The protection of CCAD was significantly superior to that of FGD.Acetylcholinesterase(Ach E)assay showed that both FGD and CCAD inhibited Ach E activity in nerve growth factor-differentiated neuronal-like PC12 cells to 89.1%and 74.5%of that in non-treated cells,respectively.The data suggest that CCAD might be able to increase the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.Although CCAD inhibited Ach E activity in neuronal-like PC12 cells,CCAD prevented H2O2-induced abnormal deterioration of Ach E.ELISA and neprilysin activity assay results indicated that CCAD reduced amyloid beta accumulation and increased neprilysin activity in Aβ1–42-treated neuronal-like PC12 cells,suggesting that CCAD can enhance Aβclearance.Our results suggest that CCA might be useful for preventing and treating Alzheimer’s disease. | Li Xiao Feng Liao Ryoji Ide Tetsuro Horie Yumei Fan Chikako Saiki Nobuhiko Miwa | 2020 | Neural Regeneration Research2020,15,12: | 6 |

| 4 | Stem cell therapy for central nerve system injuries: glial cells hold the key显示文摘Mammalian adult central nerve system(CNS) injuries are devastating because of the intrinsic difficulties for effective neuronal regeneration. The greatest problem to be overcome for CNS recovery is the poor regeneration of neurons and myelin-forming cells, oligodendrocytes. Endogenous neural progenitors and transplanted exogenous neuronal stem cells can be the source for neuronal regeneration. However, because of the harsh local microenvironment, they usually have very low efficacy for functional neural regeneration which cannot compensate for the loss of neurons and oligodendrocytes. Glial cells(including astrocytes, microglia, oligodendrocytes and NG2 glia) are the majority of cells in CNS that provide support and protection for neurons. Inside the local microenvironment, glial cells largely influence local and transplanted neural stem cells survival and fates. | 9 | The deep-space multi-object orbit determination system and its application to Hayabusa2’s asteroid proximity operations显示文摘The deep-space multi-object orbit determination system(DMOODS)and its application in the asteroid proximity operation of the Hayabusa2 mission are described.DMOODS was developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency(JAXA)for the primary purpose of determining the trajectory of deep-space spacecraft for JAXA’s planetary missions.The weighted least-squares batch filter is used for the orbit estimator of DMOODS.The orbit estimator supports more than 10 data types,some of which are used for relative trajectory measurements between multiple space objects including natural satellites and small bodies.This system consists of a set of computer programs running on Linux-based consumer PCs on the ground,which are used for orbit determination and the generation of radiometric tracking data,such as delta differential one-way ranging and doppler tracking data.During the asteroid proximity phase of Hayabusa2,this system played an essential role in operations that had very strict navigation requirements or operations in which few optical data were obtained owing to special constraints on the spacecraft attitude or distance from the asteroid.One example is orbit determination during the solar conjunction phase,in which the navigation accuracy is degraded by the effect of the solar corona.The large range bias caused by the solar corona was accurately estimated with DMOODS by combining light detection and ranging(LIDAR)and ranging measurements in the superior solar conjunction phase of Hayabusa2.For the orbiting operations of target markers and the MINERVA-II2 rover,the simultaneous estimation of six trajectories of four artificial objects and a natural object was made by DMOODS.This type of simultaneous orbit determination of multi-artificial objects in deep-space has never been accomplished before. | Hiroshi Takeuchi Kent Yoshikawa Yuto Takei Yusuke Oki Shota Kikuchi Hitoshi Ikeda Stefania Soldini Naoko Ogawa Yuya Mimasu Go Ono Fuyuto Terui Naoya Sakatani Manabu Yamada Toru Kouyama Shingo Kameda Takanao Saiki Yuichi Tsuda | 2020 | Astrodynamics2020,4,4: | 2 |
| 10 | Esophageal carcinoma originating in the surface epithelium with immunohistochemically proven esophageal gland duct differentiation: A case report显示文摘A case of esophageal carcinoma exclusively composed of adenocarcinoma simulating an esophageal gland duct in a 61-year-old man is presented. The tumor arose as a slightly elevated lesion in the middle intrathoracic esophagus. It was almost completely overlaid with nonneoplastic stratified squamous epithelial cells. Beneath the overlying surface epithelium, an adenocarcinoma that was bilayered in structure diffusely invaded both the mucosal and submucosal layers. Although the tumor consisted exclusively of adenocarcinomatous cells, a keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma component was focally observed. The invasive carcinoma was focally continuous with the small area of the surface squamous epithelial layer, which was confirmed to be neoplastic by immunohistochemistry. Morphological and immunohistochemical examinations suggested that the adenocarcinomatous component arose from the esophageal surface epithelium and clearly differentiated into an esophageal gland duct.
