1Copper Adsorption on Olivine显示文摘Copper adsorption on olivine supplied by the A/S Olivine Production Plant at Aheim in western Norway was studied. The factors were evaluated which affect the uptake of copper. It is shown that the equilibrium pH of aqueous solution has the greatest influence on copper adsorption thanks to the competitive adsorption between proton and copper ions, and the adsorption of copper to olivine increases rapidly with pH increasing from 4 to 6. Moreover, initial copper concentration and olivine dose possess significant effect on copper adsorption, for the adsorption rate of copper increases with olivine dose increasing or initial copper concentration decreasing at the same pH. In addition, the ionic strength effect on the adsorption was also investigated, but it owns little effect on the adsorption process of copper due to the formation of inner sphere adsorption of copper on olivine. 2Determination of the solvation film thickness of dispersed particles with the method of Einstein viscosity equation显示文摘The dispersion of a solid particle in a liquid may lead to the formation of solvation film onthe particle surface, which can strongly increase the repulsive force between particles and thus strongly affect the stability of dispersions. The solvation film thickness, which varies with the variation of the property of suspension particles and solutions, is one of the most important parameters of the solvation film, and is also one of the most difficult parameters that can be measured accurately. In this paper, a method, based on the Einstein viscosity equation of dispersions, for determining the solvation film thickness of particles is developed. This method was tested on two kinds of silica spherical powders (namely M1 and M2) dispersed in ethyl alcohol, in water, and in a water-ethyl alcohol mixture (1:1 by volume) through measuring the relative viscosity of dispersions of the particles as a function of the volume fraction of the dry particles in the dispersion, and of the specific surface area and the density of the particles. 3Anti-aggregation dispersion of ultrafine particles by electrostatic technique显示文摘The dispersion of ultrafine particles in the air can be achieved by mechanical method or surface modification. In this work, the electrostatic technique was first employed for anti-aggregation of ultrafine particles. When the relative humidity of the air is within the region of 70%-75%, effective storage time of ultrafine particles can reach 72 h after treatment by the electrostatic technique. The experimental results showed that this technique imparted ultrafine particles much more pronounced anti-aggregation property. In the dry air, the critical diameter of ultrafine particles anti-aggregated by the electrostatic technique is the function of particle property and charging field intensity. 4Dispersion characteristics of fine particles in water,ethanol and kerosene显示文摘Dispersion behavior of hydrophilic calcium carbonate particles and hydrophobic talcum particles in water, ethanol and kerosene media has been studied by sedimentation analysis. It is found that the dispersion of fine particles complies with the principle of polarity compatibility. That is to say, the dispersion effect will be improved when surface polarity of particles is similar to that of liquid media.
