1非饱和土力学中几个基本问题的探讨显示文摘近些年非饱和土力学的研究非常活跃,但对一些基本问题的认识并不一致,有时甚至概念混淆。针对非饱和土力学的几个基本问题:非饱和土状态变量的选择、非饱和土有效应力变量的选择、吸力概念的界定和轴平移技术的局限性、非饱和土的结构的表征方法等问题进行了分析和探讨。其中非饱和土状态变量和有效应力的选择对于非饱和土力学的理论和相应本构模型的建立具有重要影响,因此,首先深入讨论了这一问题,概括论述了非饱和土有效应力的演变并深入探讨了目前各种形式有效应力的优缺点。其次,指出由于受负压孔隙水气化(液-气相变化)的影响,在实际场地中大于某一界限值的基质吸力是不存在的;目前被广泛使用的轴平移试验技术却掩盖了这一情况,而基于此所建立的非饱和土强度和变形理论的适用性需要进一步的研究和论证。再次,指出非饱和土的结构除了包括组构和颗粒之间作用力的综合效应外,还建议增加孔隙水和孔隙气的分布以及各相之间的相互作用和物理-化学作用。最后对一些容易混淆的概念进行了梳理。其目的是希望国内同行在今后的研究中对这些问题加以关注,并建立正确的认识,促进非饱和土力学沿着正确的方向发展。赵成刚 李舰 刘艳 蔡国庆 ASREAZAD Saman 2013岩土力学2013,34,7:48
2Risk factors for fever and sepsis after percutaneous nephrolithotomy显示文摘Objective:Percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PCNL)is commonly used in the management of large renal stones.Postoperative infections are one of the most common complications of this procedure.The present study is to determine and assess the factors that may increase the risk to develop fever and urinary sepsis after PCNL.Methods:A total of 60 patients(38 males and 22 females)with a mean age of 40.25 years enrolled in this study in Sulaimania Teaching Hospital.Patients had renal stone disease need operation with different socioeconomic status,body mass index and different type and size of stones were included in this study.Patients with preoperative positive urine culture and sensitivity were excluded.Preoperative investigations done for all patients.All Patients received prophylactic antibiotic gentamicin intravenously at the induction of anaesthesia.Renal pelvis urine sample were taken from all patients after puncturing the pelvicalyceal system and send for culture and sensitivity.Patients were monitored closely in the postoperative period for the development of fever and sepsis.Results:Mean duration of the operations was 77.08 min ranged 40e120 min.All patients had postoperative nephrostomy tube.Seventeen(28.33%)patients developed post PCNL fever and the statistically significant factors for post PCNL fever were diabetes mellitus(DM)(p Z 0.001),stone burden(p Z 0.001),number of the stones(p<0.001),degree of hydronephrosis(p Z 0.001),duration of the operation(p<0.001),residual stones(p Z 0.001)and number of tracts(p Z 0.038).Three(5.00%)patients developed post PCNL sepsis,and the statistically significant risk factors for post PCNL sepsis were duration of the operation(p Z 0.013)and intraoperative blood loss,postoperative drop in haemoglobin(HB)level(p Z 0.046).Conclusion:DM,staghorn stones,degree of hydronephrosis,duration of the operation and number of tracts are risk factors for post PCNL fever,while number of stones,intraoperative blood loss,duration of the operation and residual stones are risk factors for post PCNL sepsis.Aso Omer Rashid Saman Salih Fakhulddin 2016Asian Journal of Urology2016,3,2:21
3Microstructure characteristics of cement-stabilized sandy soil using nanosilica显示文摘An experimental program was conducted to explore the impact of nanosilica on the microstructure and mechanical characteristics of cemented sandy soil.Cement agent included Portland cement type II.Cement content was 6% by weight of the sandy soil.Nanosilica was added in percentages of 0%,4%,8% and 12% by weight of cement.Cylindrical samples were prepared with relative density of 80% and optimum water content and cured for 7 d,28 d and 90 d.Microstructure characteristics of cementnanosilica-sand mixtures after 90 d of curing have been explored using atomic force microscopy(AFM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) tests.Effects of curing time on microstructure properties of cemented sandy soil samples with 0% and 8% nanosilica have been investigated using SEM test.Unconfined compression test(for all curing times) and compaction test were also performed.The SEM and AFM tests results showed that nanosilica contributes to enhancement of cemented sandy soil through yielding denser,more uniform structure.The XRD test demonstrated that the inclusion of nanosilica in the cemented soil increases the intensity of the calcium silicate hydrate(CSH) peak and decreases the intensity of the calcium hydroxide(CH) peak.The results showed that adding optimum percentages of nanosilica to cement-stabilized sandy soil enhances its mechanical and microstructure properties.Asskar Janalizadeh Choobbasti Saman Soleimani Kutanaei 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,5:16
4青藏高原高寒草甸有毒植物对土壤理化性质和土壤微生物丰度的影响显示文摘草地退化促进有毒植物迅速扩张,已对我国青藏高原高寒草甸植物群落多样性和生产力构成了严重威胁。已有研究表明,有毒植物入侵影响植物群落,但有毒植物对地下生物及生物过程的影响研究较少。本研究调查了在高寒草甸草地上生长的5种主要有毒植物[甘肃棘豆(Oxytropis kansuensis)、瑞香狼毒(Stellera chamaejasme)、披针叶黄华(Thermopsis lanceolata)、麻花艽(Gentiana straminea)、黄帚橐吾(Ligularia virgaurea)]对土壤特性和微生物丰度的影响,并将这些影响和无毒牧草[垂穗披碱草(Elymus nutans)]对土壤特性和微生物丰度的影响进行了比较。研究发现,与无毒牧草垂穗披碱草相比,除麻花艽以外,所有有毒植物均显著增加了土壤全碳、全氮和微生物生物量碳(P<0.05),但对土壤pH没有显著影响。此外,有毒植物对土壤细菌、氨氧化细菌和反硝化细菌丰度有显著影响(P<0.05),但对土壤真菌丰度没有影响。结果表明,青藏高原有毒植物的扩张对土壤特性和土壤微生物有显著的影响,并且这些影响可能对草地生产力产生显著影响。马建国 侯扶江 Saman BOWATTE 2019草业科学2019,36,12:15
5祁连山高寒草甸和荒漠草原土壤细菌群落的结构特征显示文摘祁连山作为我国西部重要的生态区,分布有大量草地,探明祁连山不同草地类型土壤微生物群落组成及其影响因子,对该地区深入研究土壤生态系统结构和维持草地健康具有参考价值。本研究采用Illumina MiSeq高通量测序和OTU分析法比较了位于祁连山东缘青海省刚察县高寒草甸和河西走廊临泽县平山湖荒漠草原0–10 cm土层中土壤细菌群落结构的差异,同时测定土壤理化性质,探讨了土壤细菌群落结构与土壤环境因子之间的关系。结果表明:高寒草甸和荒漠草原土壤细菌的β多样性和细菌群落组成存在显著差异;在门水平上,两种草地类型土壤细菌均以放线菌门(Actinobacteria)、变形菌门(Proteobacteria)、绿弯菌门(Chloroflexi)和酸杆菌门(Acidobacteria)为主要类群,相对丰度分别占总数的84%和89%;放线菌门为两地优势类群,相对丰度分别为57%和29%。在门水平上,两种草地类型主要细菌类群相对丰度有差异,其中高寒草甸土壤放线菌门和绿弯菌门的相对丰度显著低于荒漠草原(P<0.05),而变形菌门、酸杆菌门、拟杆菌门(Bacteroidetes)和Rokubacteria反之(P<0.05);两草地类型间土壤芽胞单菌门(Gemmatimonadetes)、疣微菌门(Verrucomicrobia)、浮霉菌门(Planctomycetes)相对丰度无显著差异(P>0.05)。主要类群与环境因子的Pearson相关性及PCA主成分分析表明:土壤放线菌门和绿弯菌门相对丰度与土壤养分(全氮、全碳、有机碳、含水量和碳氮比)之间呈显著负相关关系(P<0.05),与容重呈显著正相关关系(P<0.05);土壤变形菌门,酸杆菌门和Rokubacteria的相对丰度与土壤养分呈显著正相关关系,与容重呈负相关关系(P<0.05)。土壤全碳、全氮、pH、有机碳、含水量、容重和碳氮比是影响两种草地类型土壤细菌菌群分布的重要原因。康宝天 侯扶江 Saman BOWATTE 2020草业科学2020,37,1:11
6祁连山草原地上生物量和物种丰富度的空间格局显示文摘以祁连山南北坡草原为研究对象,为确定位点因子对草原地上生物量和物种丰富度的影响,沿经度、纬度和海拔梯度调查了13个样点草原植被。结果表明,祁连山草原地上生物量和物种丰富度呈北高南低、东高西低的空间分布特征,与纬度和经度均显著相关(P<0.05);草原地上生物量与年均降水量显著正相关(P<0.05),与年均温显著负相关(P<0.05)。分析认为,年降水量决定了草原地上生物量的东西分布格局,气温和年降水量的共同作用决定了地上生物量的南北分布格局。综合经度、纬度、海拔、年降水量和年均温可较好地预测地上生物量和物种丰富度。研究结果对祁连山生态修复和国家公园的科学管理具有积极意义。何美悦 王迎新 彭泽晨 常生华 Saman Bowatte 刘永杰 侯扶江 2020草业科学2020,37,10:10
7COORDINATING PRODUCTION AND RECYCLING DECISIONS WITH STOCHASTIC DEMAND AND RETUR显示文摘In this paper, the joint production and recycling problem is investigated for a hybrid manufacturing and remanufacturing system where brand-new products are produced in the manufacturing plant and recycled products are remanufactured into as-new products in the remanufacturing facility. Both the brand-new products and remanufactured products are used to satisfy customer demands. Returns of used products that are recycled from customers are assumed to be stochastic and nonlinearly price-dependent. A mathematical model is proposed to maximize the overall profit of the system through simultaneously optimizing the production and recycling decisions, subject to two capacity constraints ? the manufacturing capacity and the remanufacturing capacity. Based on Lagrangian relaxation method, subgradient algorithm and heuristic algorithm, a solution approach is developed to solve the problem. A representative example is presented to illustrate the system, and managerial analysis indicates that the uncertainties in demand and return have much influence on the production and recycling policy. We make distinctions between the effects of capillary water and adsorbed water on the soil behaviour, as well as between the deformations of microand macrostructure. 9Vehicle path tracking by integrated chassis control显示文摘The control problem of trajectory based path following for passenger vehicles is studied. Comprehensive nonlinear vehicle model is utilized for simulation vehicle response during various maneuvers in MATLAB/Simulink. In order to follow desired path, a driver model is developed to enhance closed loop driver/vehicle model. Then, linear quadratic regulator(LQR) controller is developed which regulates direct yaw moment and corrective steering angle on wheels. Particle swam optimization(PSO) method is utilized to optimize the LQR controller for various dynamic conditions. Simulation results indicate that, over various maneuvers, side slip angle and lateral acceleration can be reduced by 10% and 15%, respectively, which sustain the vehicle stable. Also, anti-lock brake system is designed for longitudinal dynamics of vehicle to achieve desired slip during braking and accelerating. 10An intelligent system for egg quality classification based on visible-infrared transmittance spectroscopy显示文摘The potential of the visible infrared(Vis–IR)(400–1100 nm)transmittance method to assess the internal quality(freshness)of intact chicken egg during storage at a temperature of 30±7C and 25±4%relative humidity was investigated.Two hundred chicken egg samples were used for measuring freshness and spectra collection during egg storage(up to 25 days).Two correlation models,firstly between Haugh unit(HU)and storage time,and secondly between the yolk coefficient(YC)and storage time,were developed and yielded correlation coefficients(R^2)of 0.86 and 0.96,respectively.These models spanned the period for which egg quality decreased dramatically and are statistically significant(P<0.05).In addition,to reduce the dimensionality of the spectra and extract effective wavelengths,two methods were developed based on principal component analysis(PCA)and a genetic algorithm(GA).The output of PCA and GA were also used comparatively to design an egg quality intelligent system.The result of the analyses indicated that identification ratio of GAwith fast Fourier transform(FFT)preprocessing was superior to other methods,and that the quality classification rates of this method for one-day-old eggs are 100%.This study shows that identification of an egg’s freshness using NIR spectroscopy with GA and artificial neural network(ANN)is reliable.Saman Abdanan Mehdizadeh Saeid Minaei Nigel H.Hancock Mohamad Amir Karimi Torshizi 2014Information Processing in Agriculture2014,1,2:8
11Applied machine learning in greenhouse simulation;new application and analysis显示文摘Prediction the inside environment variables in greenhouses is very important because they play a vital role in greenhouse cultivation and energy lost especially in cold and hot regions.The greenhouse environment is an uncertain nonlinear system which classical modeling methods have some problems to solve it.So the main goal of this study is to select the best method between Artificial Neural Network(ANN)and Support Vector Machine(SVM)to estimate three different variables include inside air,soil and plant temperatures(Ta,Ts,Tp)and also energy exchange in a polyethylene greenhouse in Shahreza city,Isfahan province,Iran.The environmental factors which influencing all the inside temperatures such as outside air temperature,wind speed and outside solar radiation were collected as data samples.In this research,13 different training algorithms were used for ANN models(MLPRBF).Based on K-fold cross validation and Randomized Complete Block(RCB)methodology,the best model was selected.The results showed that the type of training algorithm and kernel function are very important factors in ANN(RBF and MLP)and SVM models performance,respectively.Comparing RBF,MLP and SVM models showed that the performance of RBF to predict Ta,Tp and Ts variables is better according to small values of RMSE and MAPE and large value of R2 indices.The range of RMSE and MAPE factors for RBF model to predict Ta,Tp and Ts were between 0.07 and 0.12C and 0.28-0.50%,respectively.Generalizability and stability of the RBF model with 5-fold cross validation analysis showed that this method can use with small size of data groups.The performance of best model(RBF)to estimate the energy lost and exchange in the greenhouse with heat transfer models showed that this method can estimate the real data in greenhouse and then predict the energy lost and exchange with high accuracy.Morteza Taki Saman Abdanan Mehdizadeh Abbas Rohani Majid Rahnama Mostafa Rahmati-Joneidabad 2018Information Processing in Agriculture2018,5,2:8
12禾草–内生真菌共生对土壤理化性质及其微生物影响的研究进展显示文摘禾草与内生真菌共生不仅会增强禾草的抗逆性,提升宿主农艺性状,还会对食草动物的取食产生影响。内生真菌可以对植物地上性状及地下环境和地下生物产生重要影响。研究发现,内生真菌可以通过改变凋落物的分解速率、根系化学物质的释放、根际沉积物的数量和种类来影响地下环境和生物多样性。内生真菌与禾草共生对于土壤的物理、化学特性以及生物学多样性都会产生影响,并且因禾草的种类、内生真菌菌株和土壤类型等的不同而异。对物理特性的影响主要集中在土壤团聚体结构的影响上,而化学成分的影响主要体现在土壤碳氮量的改变,生物多样性主要包括土壤微生物和动物。本文回顾了禾草–内生真菌共生体对土壤理化性质和功能的响应,目的是阐明宿主土壤生境中共生体和微生物之间相互作用的机制及其功能,为发掘、开发新的禾草–内生真菌共生体以及使用新型禾草–内生真菌共生体来改变土壤微环境提供理论基础。金媛媛 SAMAN Bowatte 田沛 彭泽晨 侯扶江 李春杰 2019草业科学2019,36,5:8
13Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder after liver transplantation: Incidence, long-term survival and impact of serum tacrolimus level显示文摘AIM To investigate incidence and survival of post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder(PTLD) patients after liver transplantation. METHODS A cross-sectional survey was conducted among patients who underwent liver transplantation at Shiraz Transplant Center(Shiraz, Iran) between August 2004 and March 2015. Clinical and laboratory data of patients were collected using a data gathering form. RESULTS There were 40 cases of PTLD in the pediatric age group and 13 cases in the adult group. The incidence of PTLD was 6.25% in pediatric patients and 1.18% in adult liver transplant recipients. The post-PTLD survival of patients at 6 mo was 75.1% ± 6%, at 1 year was 68.9% ± 6.5% and at 5 years was 39.2% ± 14.2%. Higher serum tacrolimus level was associated with lower post-PTLD survival in pediatric patients(OR = 1.07, 95%CI: 1.006-1.15, P = 0.032). A serum tacrolimus level over 11.1 ng/mL was predictive of post PTLD survival(sensitivity = 90%, specificity = 52%, area under the curve = 0.738, P = 0.035). CONCLUSION Incidence of PTLD in our liver transplant patients is comparable to other centers. 14A modified BFGS algorithm based on a hybrid secant equation显示文摘By making a convex combination of the modified secant equations proposed by Yuan and Wei et al.,a hybrid secant equation and also,a modified BFGS algorithm is proposed.The hybridization parameter is effectively computed using the available information of recent iterations.Under proper conditions,it is shown that the proposed algorithm is globally,locally and superlinearly convergent.By using the performance profile introduced by Dolan and Mor'e,a comparison between the implementations of the proposed algorithm and two efficient modified BFGS algorithms proposed by Yuan and Wei et al.,on a set of unconstrained optimization test problems from the CUTEr collection,is done.Numerical results demonstrating the efficiency of the proposed modified BFGS algorithm are reported.BABAIE-KAFAKI Saman 2011Science China Mathematics2011,54,9:7
15A new combined framework for sustainable development using the DPSIR approach and numerical modeling显示文摘Relying on the conceptual DPSIR framework and MODFLOW analysis,this study used a mixed approach to produce groundwater resource management solutions for the Najafabad area in central Iran.According to DPSIR results,agricultural activities put the highest pressure on groundwater resources in this region.The results showed the effectiveness of reducing waterwithdrawal over 30 years in maintaining the aquifer in a state of equilibrium.The best scenario consisted of cutting down extraction by 10%over the said period.Output maps of the water table rise at the Najafabad aquifer clearly showed that the groundwater management scenario involving a 10%reduction ofwater withdrawal was the most effective solution,as itwould raise thewater level by 6.7 m.Regarding other scenarios,reducing cultivated area by 20%was found to raise the water table by 5.03 m on average,while cutting down water withdrawal by 5%increased the water table by 3.6 m,and a 10%reduction of the cultivated area resulted in a 1.85mrise.The combinedmodel proposed here can be used for similar aquifers and can aid decision-makers and managers.Mahsa Malmir Saman Javadi Ali Moridi Aminreza Neshat Babak Razdar 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,4:7
16Leaf photosynthesis and yield components of mung bean under fully open-air elevated[CO_2]显示文摘Mung bean(Vigna radiata L.) has the potential to establish symbiosis with rhizobia,and symbiotic association of soil micro flora may facilitate the photosynthesis and plant growth response to elevated[CO_2].Mung bean was grown at either ambient CO_2 400 μmol mol^(-1) or[CO_2]((550+17) μmol mol^(-1)) under free air carbon dioxide enrichment(FACE) experimental facility in North China.Elevated[CO_2]increased net photosynthetic rate(P_n),water use efficiency(WUE) and the non-photochemical quenching(NPQ) of upper most fully-expanded leaves,but decreased stomatal conductance(G_s),intrinsic efficiency of PSII(F_v '/F_m'),quantum yield of PSII(φ_(PSll)) and proportion of open PSII reaction centers(q_p).At elevated[CO_2],the decrease of F_v'/F_m',φ_(PSII),q_p at the bloom stage were smaller than that at the pod stage.On the other hand,P_n was increased at elevated[CO_2]by 18.7 and 7.4%at full bloom(R2) and pod maturity stages(R4),respectively.From these findings,we concluded that as a legume despite greater nutrient supply to the carbon assimilation at elevated[CO_2],photosynthetic capacity of mung bean was still suppressed under elevated[CO_2]particularly at pod maturity stage but plant biomass and yield was increased by 11.6 and 14.2%,respectively.Further,these findings suggest that even under higher nutrient acquisition systems such as legumes,nutrient assimilation does not match carbon assimilation under elevated[CO_2]and leads photosynthesis down-regulation to elevated[CO_2].GAO Ji HAN Xue Saman Seneweera LI Ping ZONG Yu-zheng DONG Qi LIN Er-da HAO Xing-yu 2015Journal of Integrative Agriculture2015,14,5:6
17Removal of PCDD/Fs and PCBs from sediment by oxygen free Pyrolysis显示文摘Few studies have dealt on the evaluation of volatilization and decomposition reactions of dioxins from sediment by oxygen free pyrolysis. In this study, the performance of pyrolysis on the removal of dioxins from sediment was investigated. Dioxin concentrations of the raw sediment and the solid residues after pyrolysis were analyzed at different conditions. Results showed a removal efficiency of 99.9999% for total dioxins at 800℃ and retention time of 30 min. All the polychlorinated dibenzo-furans (PCDFs) have been removed and were not formed in the solid residues at the retention time range of 30—90 min at 800℃. Close to 100% removal of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins(PCDDs) was also achieved. Only trace PCDDs were detected in the solid yields at a retention time of 60 min. The highest removal efficiency of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) was more than 99.9994% at a retention time of 30 min. During cooling period following pyrolysis, however, the concentration of total dioxins in solid residues increased 130 times as compared to that of the raw sediment under air atmosphere. This confirmed that some complex reactions do occur to form PCDD/Fs and PCBs from 800 to 400℃ in the presence of oxygen. 18Effect of granulated rubber on shear strength of fine-grained sand显示文摘Review of the literature related to the mixture of shredded tire and sand shows that,despite of the increase in shear strength due to addition of tire chips,granulated rubber causes reduction in shear strength of sand.In this study,the shear behavior of mixtures of fine-grained sand and 1-5 mm granulated rubber is investigated.Sixty direct shear tests were conducted on sandegranulated rubber mixtures with various rubber contents(0%,5%,10%,20% and 30%) at different relative densities(50%,70% and 90%) and different normal stresses(34.5 kPa,54.5 kPa,74.5 kPa and 104.5 kPa).The obtained results show that the granulated rubber improves the shear strength of fine-grained sand at medium relative density and low normal stress.The degree of improvement in shear strength is a function of rubber content,relative density and normal stress.The results show that at relative density of 50%,by adding 5% granulated rubber,the internal friction angle of sand increases from 35.1° to 39.2°.However,at relative densities of 70% and 90%,addition of granulated rubber to sand decreases its internal friction angle.The results also indicate that the behavior of sand becomes more ductile with increasing granulated rubber content.Adding granulated rubber leads to greater yielding strain and less tangent stiffness of sand.The maximum dilation angle decreases with the decrease in granulated rubber content.The stress ratio of sample at critical state(ψ= 0°) decreases with increasing granulated rubber content.Seyed Mahmoud Anvari Issa Shooshpasha Saman Soleimani Kutanaei 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,5:6
19高寒草甸8种植物种子内生细菌和真菌群落的多样性显示文摘种子是微生物从母本植物到子代植物的传播介质,将有益微生物代代相传。种子传播的微生物存在于植物不同部位,为寄主植物提供了一系列的益处。以往种子微生物研究主要集中于农作物,鲜有关于草地植物的研究。本研究利用Illumina-Miseq DNA测序技术,对青藏高原高山草甸8种优势植物的种子微生物群进行多样性分析。结果表明:8种草地植物的种子中有多种细菌和真菌(115个细菌属和135个真菌属),且细菌和真菌群落均存在显著差异(P<0.05)。8种草地植物的优势种细菌门和真菌门分别为Proteobacteria和Ascomycota。在8种草地植物的种子中均发现了细菌属Pseudomonas、Pantoea和Ochrobactrum及真菌属Botrytis、Bullera和Didymella。另外,在8种草地植物的种子中有其独特的细菌和真菌属。本研究表明,植物的个体特征是塑造种子微生物群落的重要因素,同时还发现了一些有利于寄主植物生长且可用于未来种子微生物组调控的微生物。郭建秀 王召锋 Saman BOWATTE 侯扶江 2020草业科学2020,37,5:5
20Establishment and characterization of an opisthorchiasis-associated cholangiocarcinoma cell line (KKU-100)显示文摘AIM To establish and dharacterize a nev cholangiocarcinoma cell line from a patient living in the Opisthorchis viverrini (O. viverrini) endemic area of Northeast Thailand.METHODS: Fresh liver biopsy and bile specimens were obtained from a 65-year-old Thai woman with cholangiocarcinoma of the porta hepatis. After digestion, the cells were cultured in Ham's F12 media. The established cell line was then characterized for growth kinetics, cell morphology, imm unocytochemistry and cytogenetics. Tumorigenicity of the cell line was determined by heterotransplanting in nude mice. RESULTS: The primary tumor was a poorly differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma. Examination of the bile revealed malignant cells with O. viverrini eggs. The cholangiocarcinoma cell line KKU-100 was established 4 mo after the primary culture-population doubling time was 72 h. KKU-100 possesses compact and polygonal-shapedepithelial cells. Immunocytochemically, this cell line exhibited cytokeratin, EMA, CEA, and CA125, but not α-fetoprotein (AFP), CA19-9, desmin, c-met, or p53. Such protein expressions parallel those of the primary tumor. Cytogenetic analysis identified aneuploidy karyotypes with a modal chromosome number of 78 and marked chromosomal structural changes.
