1Nanoparticle-immersed paper imprinting mass spectrometry imaging reveals uptake and translocation mechanism of pesticides in plants显示文摘Design and discovery of carrier-mediated modified pesticides are vital for reducing pesticide dosage and increasing utilization,yet it remains a great challenge due to limited insights into plant translocation mechanisms.Nanostructure/nanoparticle assisted laser desorption/ionization strategy has established itself as a preferential analytical tool for biological tissue analysis,whereas potential applications in plant sciences are hindered with regard to the inability to slice plant leaves and petals.Herein,we report gold nanoparticle(AuNP)-immersed paper imprinting mass spectrometry imaging(MSI)for the spatiotemporal visualization of pesticide translocation in plant leaves.This approach plays a dual role in preserving spatial information and improving ionization efficiency for pesticides regardless of imaging artifacts due to homogenous AuNP deposition.Using this MSI platform,we proposed the elaborate plant translocation mechanism of agrochemicals for the first time,which is currently poorly understood.The dynamic processes of carrier-mediated pesticides can be clearly visualized,including crossing of plasma membranes by transporters,translocation downward in stems through the phloem,diffusion to the xylem and,conversely,accumulation at margins of the treated leaves.Moreover,this AuNP-assisted paper imprinting method could be highly compatible with laser-based MSI instruments,expediting researches across a broad range of fields,especially in nanomaterial development and life sciences.Xinzhou Wu Run Qin Hanxiang Wu Guangkai Yao Yue Zhang Ping Li Yizhu Xu Zhixiang Zhang Zhibin Yin Hanhong Xu 2020Nano Research2020,13,3:8

3Kinetic Characteristics of Neutralizing Antibody Responses Vary among Patients with COVID-19显示文摘Objective The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic continues to present a major challenge to public health. Vaccine development requires an understanding of the kinetics of neutralizing antibody(NAb) responses to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Methods In total, 605 serum samples from 125 COVID-19 patients(from January 1 to March 14, 2020)varying in age, sex, severity of symptoms, and presence of underlying diseases were collected, and antibody titers were measured using a micro-neutralization assay with wild-type SARS-CoV-2.Results NAbs were detectable approximately 10 days post-onset(dpo) of symptoms and peaked at approximately 20 dpo. The NAb levels were slightly higher in young males and severe cases, while no significant difference was observed for the other classifications. In follow-up cases, the NAb titer had increased or stabilized in 18 cases, whereas it had decreased in 26 cases, and in one case NAbs were undetectable at the end of our observation. Although a decreasing trend in NAb titer was observed in many cases, the NAb level was generally still protective.Conclusion We demonstrated that NAb levels vary among all categories of COVID-19 patients. 5Development of CaP nanocomposites as photothermal actuators for doxorubicin delivery to enhance breast cancer treatment显示文摘Breast cancer is the most common one in women worldwide and doxorubicin(Dox)is one of the most commonly used and effective drugs for breast cancer treatment.Unfortunately,Dox-based chemotherapy faces irreversible cardiotoxicity and unsatisfactory therapy efficiency.It is desirable to devise Dox nanoformulations with less adverse effects and greater therapeutic efficacy for this cancer treatment.In this work,a multifunctional calcium phosphate nanoformulation(ICG-Dox/DNA@CaP)was developed by co-loading Dox/DNA complexes and indocyanine green(ICG)molecules for photothermal therapy(PTT)-enhanced chemotherapy.In this nanocomposite,using DNA as Dox carrier facilitated Dox loading into the CaP matrix,and significantly reduced Dox leakage as well as cytotoxicity in comparison with that of free Dox in physiological medium(pH 7.4).In specific,ICG-Dox/DNA@CaP only released Dox in a weakly acidic nuclease-containing environment,such as tumor microenvironment and endosome/lysosome.Moreover,Dox/DNA complexes exhibited synergistic interactions with ICG-based photothermal effect on tumor cell apoptosis in this ICG-Dox/DNA@CaP nanocomposite.This work has demonstrated a new strategy to combine FDA-approved therapeutics(Dox and ICG)in CaP-based nanomaterials for reduced cytotoxicity and enhanced therapeutic effect,and provided a new way to engineer CaP carriers as multifunctional delivery systems for clinical anti-cancer therapy.Jie Liu Li Li Run Zhang Zhi Ping Xu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,4:0
6Crystallization of NiTi shape memory alloy sputtering-deposition film显示文摘The crystallization of NiTi shape memory alloy sputter deposition film in the course of sputtering deposition and that after heat treated were studied. The relationship between the process factors, such as substrate type, temperature, as well as the crystallization when heat treated after plating was investigated.
