| 1 | Strong motion observations and recordings from the great Wenchuan Earthquake显示文摘The National Strong Motion Observation Network System (NSMONS) of China is briefly introduced in this paper. The NSMONS consists of permanent free-field stations, special observation arrays, mobile observatories and a network management system. During the Wenchuan Earthquake, over 1,400 components of acceleration records were obtained from 460 permanent free-field stations and three arrays for topographical effect and structural response observation in the network system from the main shock, and over 20,000 components of acceleration records from strong aftershocks occurred before August 1, 2008 were also obtained by permanent free-field stations of the NSMONS and 59 mobile instruments quickly deployed after the main shock. The strong motion recordings from the main shock and strong aftershocks are summarized in this paper. In the ground motion recordings, there are over 560 components with peak ground acceleration (PGA) over 10 Gal, the largest being 957.7 Gal. | 2 | Promotive Effects of Alginate-Derived Oligosaccharides on the Inducing Drought Resistance of Tomato显示文摘In order to determine the role of alginate-derived oligosaccharides (ADO) in drought stress resistance of tomato (Ly-copersicon esculentum Miller) seedlings, the leaves were exposed to different concentrations of ADO (0.05%, 0.10%, 0.20%, 0.30% and 0.50%) after drought stress was simulated by exposing the roots to 0.6 molL-1 PEG-6000 solution for 6 h. Changes in biomass, electrolyte leakage and malondialdehyde (MDA), free proline, total soluble sugars (TSS) and abscisic acid (ABA), the enzyme activities of catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) were measured to investigate the effects of ADO treatment. The results showed that the treatment with an ADO concentration of 0.20% exhibited the highest performance of drought stress resistance in the tomato seedlings by decreasing the electrolyte leakage and the concentration of MDA, increasing the contents of free proline, TSS and ABA, and increasing the activities of CAT, SOD, POD and PAL after treatment with ADO. It is suggested that changes in electrolyte leakage, MDA, osmotic solutes, ABA, anti-oxidative enzyme and PAL activities were responsible for the increased drought stress resistance in tomato seedlings. | 3 | Measuring Recreational Value of World Heritage Sites Based on Contingent Valuation Method:A Case Study of Jiuzhaigou显示文摘World heritage possesses various kinds of use value and non-use value. Measuring the recreational value of world heritage sites is a key issue in the heritage tourism. This paper employs Contingent Valuation Method (CVM), which is an evaluation instrument on the basis of tourists′ attitude and preference, to measure the recreational value of Jiuzhaigou, one of the World Natural Heritage sites in China, and analyzes the biases in the survey. The results show that: 1) In 2009, Jiuzhaigou′s recreational value was 3.46×108 yuan (RMB), and the per capita Willingness to Pay (WTP) was 137.31 yuan by CVM. Compared with the results of other methods, this result is significantly low. 2) Among the factors that influence Jiuzhaigou tourists′ WTP, psychological perception factors have the greatest effect while demographic and socio-economic characteristics have a small effect on WTP. 3) The virtuality in CVM creates biases both from CVM itself and in the procedures that CVM was implemented. The former includes hypothetical bias, information bias, protest response bias, and strategic bias; and the latter includes the questionnaire design, population and sample definition, sampling and data processing. | 4 | Natural selection maintains the transcribed LTR retrotransposons in Nosema bombycis显示文摘Eight intact LTR retrotransposons(Nbr1?Nbr8)have been previously characterized from the genome of Nosema bombycis,a eu-karyotic parasite with a compact and reduced genome.Here we describe six novel transcribed Nbr elements(Nbr9?Nbr14)identified through either cDNA library or RT-PCR.Like previously determined ones,all of them belong to the Ty3/Gypsy superfamily.Retrotransposon diversity and incomplete domains with insertions(Nbr12),deletions(Nbr11)and in-frame stop codons in coding regions(Nbr9)were detected,suggesting that both defective and loss events of LTR retrotransposon have happened in N.bombycis genome.Analysis of selection showed that strong purifying selection acts on all elements except Nbr11.This implies that selective pressure keeps both these Nbrs and their functions in genome.Interestingly,Nbr11 is under positive selection and some positively selected codons were identified,indicating that new functionality might have evolved in the Nbr11 retrotransposon.Unlike other transposable elements,Nbr11 has integrated into a conserved syntenic block and probably resulted in the inversion of both flanking regions.This demonstrates that transposable element is an important factor for the reshuffling and evolution of their host genomes,and may be maintained under natural selection. | Heng Xiang Guoqing Pan Ruizhi Zhang Jinshan Xu Tian Li Wenle Li Zeyang Zhou Zhonghuai Xiang | 2010 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2010,37,5: | 7 |
| 5 | Development of extruded Mg-6Er-3Y-1.5Zn-0.4Mn(wt.%) alloy with high strength at elevated temperature显示文摘A new Mg-6 Er-3 Y-1.5 Zn-0.4 Mn(wt.%) alloy with high strength at high temperature was designed and extruded at 350℃. The as-extruded alloy exhibits ultimate tensile strength of 301 MPa, yield strength(along ED) of 274 MPa and thermal conductivity of 73 W/m·K at 300℃. Such outstanding hightemperature strength is mainly attributed to the formation of nano-spaced solute-segregated basal plane stacking faults(SFs) with a large aspect ratio throughout the entire Mg matrix, fine dynamically recrystallized(DRXed) grains of 1–2μm and strongly textured un-DRXed grains with numerous sub-structures.Microstructural examination unveils that long period stacking ordered(LPSO) phases are formed in Mg matrix of the as-cast alloy when rational design of alloy composition was employed, i.e.(Er + Y): Zn = 3:1 and Er: Y = 1: 1(at.%). It is worth mentioning that it is the first report regarding the formation of nano-spaced basal plane SFs throughout both DRXed and un-DRXed grains in as-extruded alloy with well-designed compositions and processing parameters. | 6 | LEO navigation augmentation constellation design with the multi-objective optimization approaches显示文摘Low Earth Orbit(LEO)satellite for navigation augmentation applications can significantly reduce the precise positioning convergence time and attract increasing attention recently.A few LEO Navigation Augmentation(LEO-NA)constellations have been proposed,while corresponding constellation design methodologies have not been systematically studied.The LEO-NA constellation generally consists of a huge number of LEO satellites and it strives for multiple optimization purposes.It is essentially different from the communication constellation or earth observing constellation design problem.In this study,we modeled the LEO-NA constellation design problem as a multi-objective optimization problem and solve this problem with the MultiObjective Particle Swarm Optimization(MOPSO)algorithm.Three objectives are used to strive for the best tradeoff between the augmentation performance and deployment efficiency,namely the Position Dilution of Precision(PDOP),visible LEO satellites and the orbit altitude.A fuzzy set approach is used to select the final constellation from a set of Pareto optimal solutions given by the MOPSO algorithm.To evaluate the performance of the optimized constellation,we tested two constellations with 144 and 288 satellites and each constellation has three optimization schemes:the polar constellation,the single-layer constellation and the two-layer constellation.The results indicate that the optimized two-layer constellation achieves the best global coverage and is followed by the single-layer constellation.The MOPSO algorithm can help to improve the constellation design and is suitable for solving the LEO-NA constellation design problem. | Yi HAN Lei WANG Wenju FU Haitao ZHOU Tao LI Beizhen XU Ruizhi CHEN | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4: | 5 |
| 7 | Development of high mechanical properties and moderate thermal conductivity cast Mg alloy with multiple RE via heat treatment显示文摘A new cast Mg–2 Gd–2 Nd–2 Y–1 Ho–1 Er–0.5 Zn–0.4 Zr(wt%) alloy was prepared by direct-chill semicontinuous casting technology. The microstructure, mechanical properties and thermal conductivity of the alloy in as-cast, solid-solution treated and especially peak-aged conditions were investigated. The as-cast alloy mainly consists of β-Mg matrix,(Mg, Zn)_3 RE phase and basal plane stacking faults. After proper solid-solution treatment, the microstructure becomes almost Mg-based single phase solid solution except just very few RE-riched particles. The as-cast and solid-solution treated alloys exhibit moderate tensile properties and thermal conductivity. It is noteworthy that the Mg alloy with 8 wt% multiple RE exhibits remarkable age-hardening response( HV = 35.7), which demonstrates that the multiple RE(RE = Gd, Nd, Y, Ho, Er) alloying instead of single Gd can effectively improve the age-hardening response.The peak-aged alloy has a relatively good combination of high strength/hardness(UTS(ultimate tensile strength) > 300 MPa; TYS(tensile yield strength) > 210 MPa; 115.3 HV), proper ductility(ε≈ 6%) and moderate thermal conductivity(52.5 W/(m K)). The relative mechanisms mainly involving aging precipitation of β¢ and β'' phases were discussed. | 9 | Microstructure and mechanical properties at elevated temperature of Mg-Al-Ni alloys prepared through powder metallurgy显示文摘Mg-Al-Ni alloys were prepared by powder metallurgy, and their microstructure and elevated temperature mechanical properties were investigated. Results indicate that, in addition to α-Mg matrix, both coarse Al_3Ni_2 particles and fine Al Ni nano-particles exist in the Mg-Al-Ni alloys. The strength at 150?C is improved with the increase in Ni content. Mg-18.3Al-8Ni alloy possesses a compressive strength of234.7 MPa and a yield strength of 146.5 MPa. Plasticity is also improved with a low concentration of Ni. Mg-11.3Al-2Ni alloy possesses a compression ratio of 17.3%. The phases of Al_3Ni_2 and Al Ni in the alloys block the movements of grain boundaries and dislocations during the deformation at elevated temperature. The existence of Al Ni phase provides a non-basal slip system, leading to the improvement in plasticity. | 12 | Review of combine harvester losses for maize and influencing factors显示文摘The high harvest losses associated with the mechanical harvesting of maize in China are currently a major barrier to the adoption of this technology.This paper summarizes works of literature regarding harvest losses from the combine harvesting of maize in China and abroad.The main findings are as follows:(1)In 2012-2019,2987 samples data obtained from the major maize production areas of China showed that the average harvest loss was 345.2 kg/hm2(3.5%of the average yield),with losses ranging from 0 to 9288.5 kg/hm2;(2)The harvest losses from combine harvesting are mainly caused by the dropping of ears.The ear losses include the pre-harvest loss caused by ear abscission,damage caused by maize borer,lodging,and the ear loss during combine harvesting,and the main pre-harvest loss is caused by lodging;(3)Harvest losses are affected by maize variety,planting mode,cultivation management,pests and diseases,weather conditions during harvesting,harvest date,combine harvester type,harvester adjustment,operator proficiency,and the terrain conditions of the maize field;(4)The harvest losses from combine harvesting are also related to the type of header,feeding and threshing methods,the adjustment of header stripping clearance,feeding amount,forward speed,cylinder or rotor speed,and the clearance between the cylinder and the concave of the harvester.However,the combine losses mainly come from header losses.In order to reduce the harvest losses,the following solutions were proposed:(1)Breed and select maize varieties which are resistant to lodging,especially during the field drying of mature grains,as well as those resistant to maize borer and stalk rot;(2)Select varieties suitable for grain harvest-which requires matching the accumulated-temperature demand of the maize hybrids,optimal plant density,row spacing,and irrigation and fertilizer management with the light and heat conditions of the production area while cultivating uniform populations and healthy plants-as well as preventing and controlling damage from maize borer,stalk rot,and ear rot,harvesting at the appropriate time;(3)Develop and select advanced maize combine harvesters,formulate standardized operating procedures for harvesting machinery,and standardize field operation;(4)select appropriate agricultural machinery and agronomic practices,and improve the training of maize producers and harvester operators. | Keru Wang Ruizhi Xie Bo Ming Peng Hou Jun Xue Shaokun Li | 2021 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,1: | 3 |

| 14 | Dietary ferulic acid and vanillic acid on inflammation,gut barrier function and growth performance in lipopolysaccharide-challenged piglets显示文摘Ferulic acid(FA)and vanillic acid(VA)are considered as major phenolic metabolites of cyanidin 3-glucoside,a polyphenol that widely exists in plants that possess a protective effect against oxidative stress and inflammation in our previous study.This study aimed to investigate the effect of FA and VA on inflammation,gut barrier function,and growth performance in a weaned piglet model challenged with lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Thirty-six piglets(PIC 337×C48,28 d of age)were randomly allocated into 3 treatments with 6 replicate pens(2 piglets per pen).They were fed with a basal diet or a diet containing 4,000 mg/kg of FA or VA.Dietary supplementation of VA significantly increased average daily gain(ADG)(P<0.05).Both FA and VA decreased serum levels of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances(TBARS),interlukin(IL)-1β,IL-2,IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α(P<0.05),and enhanced the expression of tight junction protein oclaudin(P<0.05).Analysis of gut microbiota indicated that both FA and VA increased the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio alongside reducing the relative abundance of the Prevotellaceae family including Prevotella 9 and Prevotella 2 genera,but enriched the Lachoiraceaea family including the Lachnospiraceae FCS020 group(P<0.05).Moreover,VA reduced the relative abundance of Prevotella 7 and Prevotella 1 but enriched Lachnospira,Eubacterium eligens group,and Eubacterium xylanophilum group(P<0.05),while FA showed a limited effect on these genera.The results demonstrated that both VA and FA could alleviate inflammation and oxidative stress,but only VA has a significant positive effect on the growth performance of LPS-challenged piglets potentially through modulating gut microbiota. | Ruizhi Hu Shusong Wu Baizhen Li Jijun Tan Jiahao Yan Ying Wang Zhiyi Tang Ming Liu Chenxing Fu Hongfu Zhang Jianhua He | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,1: | 3 |

| 18 | Reducing maize yield gap by matching plant density and solar radiation显示文摘Yield gap exists because the current attained actual grain yield cannot yet achieve the estimated yield potential. Chinese high yield maize belt has a wide span from east to west which results in different solar radiations between different regions and thus different grain yields. We used multi-site experimental data, surveyed farmer yield data, the highest recorded yield data in the literatures, and simulations with Hybrid-Maize Model to assess the yield gap and tried to reduce the yield gap by matching the solar radiation and plant density. The maize belt was divided into five regions from east to west according to distribution of accumulated solar radiation. The results showed that there were more than 5.8 Mg ha^(–1) yield gaps between surveyed farmer yield and the yield potential in different regions of China from east to west, which just achieved less than 65% of the yield potential. By analyzing the multi-site density experimental data, we found that the accumulated solar radiation was significantly correlated to optimum plant density which is the density with the highest yield in the multi-site density experiment(y=0.09895 x–32.49, P<0.01), according to which the optimum plant densities in different regions from east to west were calculated. It showed that the optimum plant density could be increased by 60.0, 55.2, 47.3, 84.8, and 59.6% compared to the actual density, the grain yield could be increased by 20.2, 18.3, 10.9, 18.1, and 15.3% through increasing plant density, which could reduce the yield gaps of 33.7, 23.0, 13.4, 17.3, and 10.4% in R(region)-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, and R-5, respectively. The as-made Co-N-C possessed hierarchical pore structure and high specific surface area, achieving excellent electrocatalytic performances for ORR and HER. Its ORR catalytic performances were comparable to those of Pt/C catalyst and its HER catalytic performances were superior to those of most doped carbon catalysts in KOH electrolyte. | 20 | Kernel position effects of grain morphological characteristics by X-ray micro-computed tomography (μCT)显示文摘Grain size and shape are important factors for yield and quality.The difference in grain phenotypic characteristics in the same maize hybrid is related to its position in the ear.This study aimed to clarify the distribution characteristics of grain morphological characteristics in the ear and to provide guidance for research of grain phenotype and kernel position effects.Three maize hybrids were used in the experiment,namely,Denghai 618(DH618),KX3564,and Xianyu 335(XY335),and the kernel number per row were 40,40,and 36,respectively.The X-rayμCT was applied to obtain five kernel morphological indicators,including grain length,width,thickness,volume,surface area.Grain sphericity,length-width ratio,specific surface area,and volume coefficient were further calculated.The results showed that there were three types of maize ear morphological indicators trends:grain length,width,volume,and surface area were parabolic;thickness and sphericity were inverted parabolic;length-to-width ratio and specific surface area were irregular.The volume coefficient of grain at different parts of the ear,namely the relation coefficient between grain volume and grain length,width,and thickness,was determined.The average value of the middle grains morphological indicators of the ear was taken to select kernels representing stable characteristics of the variety.Within the range of 5%deviation from the morphological mean value of the middle grains of the ear,the grains in the middle part accounted for 26.39%of the total ear,about 10 grains extending from the 14th grain at the base of the ear to the top.Within the range of 10%deviation,the middle accounted for 47.22%,about 18 grains extending from the 12th grain at the base of the ear to the top.This study found that grain morphological indicators were greatly different at different positions of the maize ear,and showed different change rules as extend from the base to the top of the ear.Therefore,there were different grain volume coefficients at different positions of maize ear.And the representative sampling range on maize ear was determined based on the comprehensive analysis of different morphological indexes variation of grain. | Xuebo Yin Junfeng Hou Bo Ming Ying Zhang Xinyu Guo Shang Gao Keru Wang Peng Hou Shaokun Li Ruizhi Xie | 2021 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,2: | 2 |
