3Role of gut microbiota in cardiovascular diseases显示文摘The human gut is colonized by a community of microbiota,primarily bacteria,that exist in a symbiotic relationship with the host.Intestinal microbiota-host interactions play a critical role in the regulation of human physiology.Deleterious changes to the composition of gut microbiota,referred to as gut dysbiosis,has been linked to the development and progression of numerous diseases,including cardiovascular disease(CVD).Imbalances in host-microbial interaction impair homeostatic mechanisms that regulate health and can activate multiple pathways leading to CVD risk factor progression.Most CVD risk factors,including aging,obesity,dietary patterns,and a sedentary lifestyle,have been shown to induce gut dysbiosis.Dysbiosis is associated with intestinal inflammation and reduced integrity of the gut barrier,which in turn increases circulating levels of bacterial structural components and microbial metabolites,including trimethylamine-N-oxide and short-chain fatty acids,that may facilitate the development of CVD.This article reviews the normal function and composition of the gut microbiome,mechanisms leading to the leaky gut syndrome,its mechanistic link to CVD and potential novel therapeutic approaches aimed towards restoring gut microbiome and CVD prevention.As CVD is the leading cause of deaths globally,investigating the gut microbiota as a locus of intervention presents a novel and clinically relevant avenue for future research.Marko Novakovic Amit Rout Thomas Kingsley Robert Kirchoff Amteshwar Singh Vipin Verma Ravi Kant Rahul Chaudhary 2020World Journal of Cardiology2020,12,4:6

5Load shedding strategy coordinated with storage device and D-STATCOM to enhance the microgrid stability显示文摘Recently microgrids have drawn a potential attraction by fulfilling the environmental demands and the increasing energy demands of the end-users. It is necessary to focus on various protection and control aspects of a microgrid. During the transition between the grid-following and grid-forming modes, the voltage and the frequency instability due to the power mismatch condition becomes the major point of concern. Therefore, the paper executes a frequency-active power and voltage-reactive power drooping control strategy for the precise power-sharing among the distributed power generators. Furthermore, to handle the power deficit scenarios and to maintain the system stability, a system independent and priority-based adaptive three-stage load shedding strategy is proposed. The sensitivity of the strategy depends on the system inertia and is computed according to the varying absolute rate-of-change-of-frequency. The strategy incorporates the operation of battery storage system and distributed static compensator (D-STATCOM) in the microgrid, to provide a reliable power supply to the customers for a considerable time instead of a sudden load shedding. 7Diagnostic assays developed for the control of foot-andmouth disease in India显示文摘Foot-and-mouth disease(FMD) is a highly contagious and economically devastating disease of livestock, primarily affecting cattle, buffalo and pigs. FMD virus serotypes O, A and Asia1 are prevalent in India and systematic efforts are on to control and eventually eradicate the disease from the country. FMD epidemiology is complex due to factors like co-circulation, extinction, emergence and re-emergence of genotypes/lineages within the three serotypes, animal movement, diverse farm practices and large number of susceptible livestock in the country. Systematic vaccination, prompt diagnosis, strict biosecurity measures, and regular monitoring of vaccinal immunity and surveillance of virus circulation are indispensible features for the effective implementation of the control measures. Availability of suitable companion diagnostic tests is very important in this endeavour. 8Recent developments in self-powered smart chemical sensors for wearable electronics显示文摘The next generation of electronics technology is purely going to be based on wearable sensing systems. Wearable electronic sensors that can operate in a continuous and sustainable manner without the need of an external power sources, are essential for portable and mobile electronic applications. In this review article, the recent progress and advantages of wearable self-powered smart chemical sensors systems for wearable electronics are presented. An overview of various modes of energy conversion and storage technologies for self-powered devices is provided. Self-powered chemical sensors (SPCS) systems with integrated energy units are then discussed, separated as solar cell-based SPCS, triboelectric nano-generators based SPCS, piezoelectric nano-generators based SPCS, energy storage device based SPCS, and thermal energy-based SPCS.
