Characteristics of microbial community functional structure of a biological coking wastewater treatment system显示文摘Nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds are key pollutants in coking wastewater; however, the functional potential of microbial communities for biodegradation of such contaminants during biological treatment is still elusive. Herein, a high throughput functional gene array(Geo Chip 5.0)in combination with Illumina Hi Seq2500 sequencing was used to compare and characterize the microbial community functional structure in a long run(500 days) bench scale bioreactor treating coking wastewater, with a control system treating synthetic wastewater. Despite the inhibitory toxic pollutants, Geo Chip 5.0 detected almost all key functional gene(average61,940 genes) categories in the coking wastewater sludge. With higher abundance, aromatic ring cleavage dioxygenase genes including multi ring1,2 diox; one ring2,3 diox; catechol represented significant functional potential for degradation of aromatic pollutants which was further confirmed by Illumina Hi Seq2500 analysis results. Response ratio analysis revealed that three nitrogenous compound degrading genes-nbz A(nitro-aromatics), tdn B(aniline), and scn ABC(thiocyanate) were unique for coking wastewater treatment, which might be strong cause to increase ammonia level during the aerobic process. Additionally, Hi Seq2500 elucidated carbozole and isoquinoline degradation genes in the system. These findings expanded our understanding on functional potential of microbial communities to remove organic nitrogenous pollutants;hence it will be useful in optimization strategies for biological treatment of coking wastewater. | Dev Raj Joshi Yu Zhang Hong Zhang Yingxin Gao Min Yang | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,1: | 6
A survey on future research about electron beam welding for aerospace applications显示文摘Electron beam welding plays an important role in the aerospace industry where components like sensors, gears, actuators and air frames used in aircraft and rocket engines were welded using this technique.Welding is normally performed in a vacuum to avoid the scatter of electron due to the presence of gas molecules in the atmosphere and hence electron beam welding process provides the greater results. But still joining of dissimilar metals is challenging. This paper represents review of process, generation and distribution of heat source various input parameters, materials, microstructure, mechanical strength and the possibilities of joining dissimilar metals using electron beam welding. | Ajith Raj Rajendran Dev Anand Manoharan | 2018 | China Welding2018,27,1: | 4

Epidemiology of dengue virus infections in Nepal, 2006-2019显示文摘Background:Dengue is one of the newest emerging diseases in Nepal with increasing burden and geographic spread over the years. The main objective of this study was to explore the epidemiological patterns of dengue since its first outbreak(2006)to 2019 in Nepal. | Komal Raj Rijal Bipin Adhikari Bindu Ghimire Binod Dhungel Uttam Raj Pyakurel Prakash Shah Anup Bastola Binod Lekhak Megha Raj Banjara Basu Dev Pandey Daniel MParker Prakash Ghimire | 2021 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2021,10,2: | 0
Threats of Zika virus transmission for Asia and its Hindu-Kush Himalayan region显示文摘Asia and its Hindu Kush Himalayan(HKH)region is particularly vulnerable to environmental change, especially climate and land use changes further influenced by rapid population growth, high level of poverty and unsustainable development.Asia has been a hotspot of dengue fever and chikungunya mainly due to its dense human population, unplanned urbanization and poverty. In an urban cycle, dengue virus(DENV)and chikungunya virus(CHIKV)are transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Ae.albopictus mosquitoes which are also competent vectors of Zika virus(ZIKV).Over the last decade,DENV and CHIKV transmissions by Ae.aegypti have extended to the Himalayan countries of Bhutan and Nepal and ZIKV could follow in the footsteps of these viruses in the HKH region. The already established distribution of human-biting Aedes mosquito vectors and a naïve population with lack of immunity against ZIKV places the HKH region at a higher risk of ZIKV.Some of the countries in the HKH region have already reported ZIKV cases. We have documented an increasing threat of ZIKV in Asia and its HKH region because of the high abundance and wide distribution of human-biting mosquito vectors, climate change, poverty, report of indigenous cases in the region, increasing numbers of imported cases and a naïve population with lack of immunity against ZIKV.An outbreak anywhere is potentially a threat everywhere. Therefore,in order to ensure international health security, all efforts to prevent, detect, and respond to ZIKV ought to be intensified now in Asia and its HKH region. To prepare for possible ZIKV outbreaks,Asia and the HKH region can also learn from the success stories and strategies adopted by other regions and countries in preventing ZIKV and associated complications. The future control strategies for DENV,CHIKV and ZIKV should be considered in tandem with the threat to human well-being that is posed by other emerging and re-emerging vector-borne and zoonotic diseases, and by the continuing urgent need to strengthen public primary healthcare systems in the region. | Meghnath Dhimal Sushma Dahal Mandira Lamichhane Dhimal Shiva Raj Mishra Khem BKarki Krishna Kumar Aryal Ubydul Haque Md Iqbal Kabir Pradeep Guin Azeem Mehmood Butt Harapan Harapan Qi-Yong Liu Cordia Chu Doreen Montag David Alexander Groneberg Basu Dev Pandey Ulrich Kuch Ruth Muller | 2018 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2018,7,1: | 0
Adverse effects of personal protection equipment among health workers during COVID-19显示文摘Personal Protective Equipment(PPE)has become a protective measure for healthcare workers during COVID times.Healthcare workers are front liners to fight against COVID pandemics.Healthcare workers developed many adverse effects while working using PPE.Dermatological, ocular, psychological were some of the common adverse effects reported by the healthcare workers.Preventive measures help to reduce them to some extent. The use of PPE and related pros and cons are well-established,with the benefits outweighing minor adverse events also associated with it. | Bibek Raj Parajuli Jyotishna Dev | 2022 | Life Research2022,5,2: | 0
