| 1 | Emergence of antibiotic resistance Pseudomonas aeruginosa in intensive care unit;a critical review显示文摘The emergence of antibiotic resistant bacteria in the healthcare is a serious concern.In the Healthcare premises precisely intensive care unit are major sources of microbial diversity.Recent findings have demonstrated not only microbial diversity but also drug resistant microbes largely habitat in ICU.Pseudomonas aeruginosa found as a part of normal intestinal flora and a significant pathogen responsible for wide range of ICU acquired infection in critically ill patients.Nosocomial infection associated with this organism including gastrointestinal infection,urinary tract infections and blood stream infection.Infection caused by this organism are difficult to treat because of the presence of its innate resistance to many antibiotics(b-lactam and penem group of antibiotics),and its ability to acquire further resistance mechanism to multiple class of antibiotics,including Beta-lactams,aminoglycosides and fluoroquinolones.In the molecular evolution microbes adopted several mechanism to maintain genomic plasticity.The tool microbe use for its survival is mainly biofilm formation,quorum sensing,and horizontal gene transfer and enzyme promiscuity.Such genomic plasticity provide an ideal habitat to grow and survive in hearse environment mainly antibiotics pressure.This review focus on infection caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa,its mechanisms of resistance and available treatment options.The present study provides a systemic review on major source of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in ICU.Further,study also emphasizes virulence gene/s associated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa genome for extended drug resistance.Study gives detailed overview of antibiotic drug resistance mechanism. | Preeti Pachori Ragini Gothalwal Puneet Gandhi | 2019 | Genes & Diseases2019,6,2: | 20 |
| 2 | Antioxidative study of Cerium Oxide nanoparticle functionalised PCL-Gelatin electrospun fibers for wound healing application显示文摘Skin wound healing involves a coordinated cellular response to achieve complete reepithelialisation.Elevated levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS)in the wound environment often pose a hindrance in wound healing resulting in impaired wound healing process.Cerium oxide nanoparticles(CeNPs)have the ability to protect the cells from oxidative damage by actively scavenging the ROS.Furthermore,matrices like nanofibers have also been explored for enhancing wound healing.In the current study CeNP functionalised polycaprolactone(PCL)-gelatin nanofiber(PGNPNF)mesh was fabricated by electrospinning and evaluated for its antioxidative potential.Wide angle XRD analysis of randomly oriented nanofibers revealed^2.6 times reduced crystallinity than pristine PCL which aided in rapid degradation of nanofibers and release of CeNP.However,bioactive composite made between nanoparticles and PCLgelatin maintained the fibrous morphology of PGNPNF upto 14 days.The PGNPNF mesh exhibited a superoxide dismutase(SOD)mimetic activity due to the incorporated CeNPs.The PGNPNF mesh enhanced proliferation of 3T3-L1 cells by^48%as confirmed by alamar blue assay and SEM micrographs of cells grown on the nanofibrous mesh.Furthermore,the PGNPNF mesh scavenged ROS,which was measured by relative DCF intensity and fluorescence microscopy;and subsequently increased the viability and proliferation of cells by three folds as it alleviated the oxidative stress.Overall,the results of this study suggest the potential of CeNP functionalised PCL-gelatin nanofibrous mesh for wound healing applications. | Hilal Ahmad Rather Ria Thakore Ragini Singh Dhwani Jhala Sanjay Singh Rajesh Vasita | 2018 | Bioactive Materials2018,3,2: | 4 |

| 15 | Automatic Generation Control of Multi-area Power System with Network Constraints and Communication Delays显示文摘Newly proposed power system control methodologies combine economic dispatch(ED) and automatic generation control(AGC) to achieve the steady-state cost-optimal solution under stochastic operation conditions. However, a real power system is subjected to continuous demand disturbance and system constraints due to the input saturation, communication delays and unmeasurable feed-forward load disturbances. Therefore, optimizing the dynamic response under practical conditions is equally important. This paper proposes a state constrained distributed model predictive control(SCDMPC)scheme for the optimal frequency regulation of an interconnected power system under actual operation conditions, which exist due to the governor saturation, generation rate constraints(GRCs), communication delays, and unmeasured feed-forward load disturbances. In addition, it proposes an algorithm to handle the solution infeasibility within the SCDMPC scheme, when the input and state constraints are conflicting. The proposed SCDMPC scheme is then tested with numerical studies on a three-area interconnected network.
