| 1 | Alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptor antagonist inhibits apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells in a rabbit model of optic nerve injury显示文摘A rabbit model of traumatic optic nerve injury, established by occlusion of the optic nerve using a vascular clamp, was used to investigate the effects of alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptor antagonist GYKI 52466 on apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells following nerve injury. Hematoxylin-eosin staining and a terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling assay showed that retinal ganglion cells gradually decreased with increasing time of optic nerve injury, while GYKI 52466 could inhibit this process. | 2 | Xiao Ke Qing improves glycometabolism and ameliorates insulin resistance by regulating the PI3K/Akt pathway in KKAy mice显示文摘Xiao Ke Qing (XKQ)granule has been clinically used to treat type 2diabetes mellitus (T2DM)for 10 years in Chinese traditional medication.However,its mechanisms against hyperglycemia remain poorly understood.This study aims to investigate XKQ mechanisms on diabetes and diabetic liver disease by using the KKAy mice model.Our results indicate that XKQ can significantly reduce food and water intake.XKQ treatment also remarkably decreases both the fasting blood glucose and blood glucose in the oral glucose tolerance test. | 3 | Actively logical modulation of MEMS-based terahertz metamaterial显示文摘The integration of micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) with metamaterial has provided a novel route to achieve programmability via its reconfigurable capabilities. Here,we propose and demonstrate a MEMS-based metadevice by using switchable winding-shaped cantilever metamaterial (WCM) for active logical modulation.WCM can be actuated by external driving voltage,and the logical modulation bit is performed by releasing MEMS cantilevers to represent 'on' and 'off' states. While the underneath substrate surface of a MEMS-based metadevice is rough after releasing the cantilevers,the metadevice is allowed to operate on the reconfigurable switching state and avoid the snapping down of the device when the system is overloaded. Such a reconfigurable and programmable MEMS-based metadevice exhibits multifunctional characteristics to simultaneously perform the logic operations of 'OR' and 'AND' gates. By exploiting the tuning mechanism of the MEMS-based metadevice,the arbitrary metamaterial configuration can be implanted into WCM. This opens a wide avenue to further enlarge the operating frequency range and applications in optoelectronic fields. | 4 | Experimental study on gas–liquid dispersion and mass transfer in shear-thinning system with coaxial mixer显示文摘The effects of impeller type, stirring power, gas flow rate, and liquid concentration on the gas–liquid mixing in a shear-thinning system with a coaxial mixer were investigated by experiment, and the overall gas holdup, relative power demand, and volumetric mass transfer coefficient under different conditions were compared. The results show that, the increasing stirring power or gas flow rate is beneficial in promoting the overall gas holdup and volumetric mass transfer coefficient, while the increasing system viscosity weakens the mass transfer in a shearing–thinning system. | 5 | Deep learning model improves radiologists'performance in detection and classification of breast lesions显示文摘Objective:Computer-aided diagnosis using deep learning algorithms has been initially applied in the field of mammography,but there is no large-scale clinical application.Methods:This study proposed to develop and verify an artificial intelligence model based on mammography.Firstly,mammograms retrospectively collected from six centers were randomized to a training dataset and a validation dataset for establishing the model.Secondly,the model was tested by comparing 12 radiologists’performance with and without it.Finally,prospectively enrolled women with mammograms from six centers were diagnosed by radiologists with the model.The detection and diagnostic capabilities were evaluated using the freeresponse receiver operating characteristic(FROC)curve and ROC curve.Results:The sensitivity of model for detecting lesions after matching was 0.908 for false positive rate of 0.25 in unilateral images.The area under ROC curve(AUC)to distinguish the benign lesions from malignant lesions was0.855[95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.830,0.880].The performance of 12 radiologists with the model was higher than that of radiologists alone(AUC:0.852 vs.0.805,P=0.005).The mean reading time of with the model was shorter than that of reading alone(80.18 s vs.62.28 s,P=0.032).In prospective application,the sensitivity of detection reached 0.887 at false positive rate of 0.25;the AUC of radiologists with the model was 0.983(95%CI:0.978,0.988),with sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value(PPV),and negative predictive value(NPV)of94.36%,98.07%,87.76%,and 99.09%,respectively.Conclusions:The artificial intelligence model exhibits high accuracy for detecting and diagnosing breast lesions,improves diagnostic accuracy and saves time. | Yingshi Sun Yuhong Qu Dong Wang Yi Li Lin Ye Jingbo Du Bing Xu Baoqing Li Xiaoting Li Kexin Zhang Yanjie Shi Ruijia Sun Yichuan Wang Rong Long Dengbo Chen Haijiao Li Liwei Wang Min Cao | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,6: | 1 |
| 6 | Coal rock image recognition method based on improved CLBP and receptive field theory显示文摘Rapid coal-rock identification is one of the key technologies for intelligent and unmanned coal mining.Currently,the existing image recognition algorithms cannot satisfy practical needs in terms of recognition speed and accuracy.In view of the evident differences between coal and rock in visual attributes such as color,gloss and texture,the complete local binary pattern(CLBP)image feature descriptor is introduced for coal and rock image recognition.Given that the original algorithm oversimplifies local texture features by ignoring imaging information from higher-order pixels and the concave and convex areas between adjacent sampling points,this paper proposes a higher-order differential median CLBP image feature descriptor to replace the original CLBP center pixel gray with a local gray median,and replace the binary differential with a second-order differential.Meanwhile,for the high dimensionality of CLBP descriptor histogram and feature redundancy,deep learning perceptual field theory is introduced to realize data nonlinear dimensionality reduction and deep feature extraction.With relevant experiments conducted,the following conclusion can be drawn:(1)Compared with that of the original CLBP,the recognition accuracy of the improved CLBP algorithm is greatly improved and finally stabilized above 94.3%under strong noise interference;(2)Compared with that of the original CLBP model,the single image recognition time of the coal rock image recognition model fusing the improved CLBP and the receptive field theory is 0.0035 s,a reduction of 71.0%;compared with the improved CLBP model(without the fusion of receptive field theory),it can shorten the recognition time by 97.0%,but the accuracy rate still maintains more than 98.5%.The method offers a valuable technical reference for the fields of mineral development and deep mining. | Chuanmeng Sun Ruijia Xu Chong Wang Tiehua Ma Jiaxin Chen | 2022 | Deep Underground Science and Engineering2022,1,2: | 0 |
| 7 | A green and efficient strategy facilitates continuous solar-induced steam generation based on tea-assisted synthesis of gold nanoflowers显示文摘Developing a highly efficient system for solar steam generation(SSG)using a straightforward and eco-friendly method to harvest freshwater is fascinating but challenging.Here,we stir the mixture of brewed tea and HAuCl4 to prepare Au nanoflowers,possessing broad wavelength light absorption and excellent photothermal effects.After freeze-drying the mixture of Au nanoflowers,cellulose nanocrystals(CNCs),and aqueous polyurethane(PU)emulsion,we obtain three-dimensional(3D)porous structures(CNC-PU-Au)for SSG.The whole process does not involve any sophisticated procedure or produce detrimental byproducts.The evaporation rates are 2.24 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1) for pure water and 2.18 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1) for seawater using CNC-PU-Au under one sun.The solar energy conversion efficiency is up to 90.92%under one sun illumination.Besides,CNC-PU-Au shows self-driven salt resistance and durability.In outdoors application for seawater desalination,the maximum evaporation rate can maintain at 2.19 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1) in spring and 3.42 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1) in summer.These unique features promise the utility of CNC-PU-Au in the ecofriendly water treatment industry. | Guoshuai Zhu Gaoxing Jing Guorong Xu Qiang Li Ruijia Huang Feng Li Haoxuan Li Dong Wang Wenwen Chen Ben Zhong Tang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,7: | 0 |

| 9 | Particle collision behavior and heat transfer performance in a Na_(2)SO_(4) circulating fluidized bed evaporator显示文摘The particle collision behavior and heat transfer performance are investigated to reveal the heat transfer enhancement and fouling prevention mechanism in a Na_(2)SO_(4) circulating fluidized bed evaporator.The particle collision signals are analyzed with standard deviation by varying the amount of added particles ε(1%–3%),circulation flow velocity u(0.37–1.78 m·s^(-1)),and heat flux q(7.29–12.14 kW·m^(-2)).The results show that the enhancement factor reach up to 14.6%by adding polytetrafluoroethylene particles at ε=3%,u=1.78 m·s^(-1),and q=7.29 kW·m^(-2).Both the standard deviation of the particle collision signal and enhancement factor increase with the increase in the amount of added particles.The standard deviation increases with the increase in circulation flow velocity;however,the enhancement factor initially decreases and then increases.The standard deviation slightly decreases with the increase in heat flux at low circulation flow velocity,but initially increases and then decreases at high circulation flow velocity.The enhancement factor decreases with the increase in heat flux.The enhancement factor in Na_(2)SO_(4) solution is superior to that in water at high amount of added particles.The empirical correlation for heat transfer is established,and the model results agree well with the experimental data. | Feng Jiang Di Xu Ruijia Li Guopeng Qi Xiulun Li | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,6: | 0 |
| 10 | Breaking-then-curing strategy for efficient cystic echinococcosis therapy显示文摘Cystic echinococcosis(CE)is one of the most harmful and life-threatening helminths.As the essential therapeutics,chemotherapy is always difficult to achieve desired anti-echinococcal effect due to the problems that the echinococcus granulosus cyst laminated layer makes the drug difficult to infiltrate and the poor solubility of drugs.In this study,we established a“breaking-then-curing”anti-echinococcal treatment strategy for efficient CE therapy.The photodynamic therapy(PDT)was used as a breaker to produce toxic reactive oxygen species(ROS)and damage the laminated layer of protoscolices(PSCs),leading to enhanced infiltration of albendazole sulfoxide nanoparticles(ABZSO NPs).Then,ABZSO NP was worked as curer for efficient anti-echinococcal treatment.As a result,the breaking-then-curing treatment strategy could generate more intracellular ROS in PSCs induced by plenty of ABZSO NPs,greatly increasing the mortality rate of PSCs in a shorter time than using ABZSO NPs alone,leading to the attenuation of laminated layer and finally disintegrating PSCs.We believe the“breaking-then-curing”strategy will suggest great potential in the treatment of CE and provide a new sight for anti-echinococcal treatment. | Tianjiao Zhou Yuan Xu Yuehong Gong Mingtao Yu Enzhen Xu Wusimanjiang Aimaiti Ruijia Ma Lei Xing Hao Wen Jianhua Wang Hulin Jiang | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,6: | 0 |
