| 1 | Microalgae:A potential alternative to health supplementation for humans显示文摘Microalgae has been consumed in human diet for thousands of years. It is an under-exploited crop for production of dietary foods.Microalgae cultivation does not compete with land and resources required for traditional crops and has a superior yield compared to terrestrial crops. Its high protein content has exhibited a huge potential to meet the dietary requirements of growing population.Apart from being a source of protein, presence of various bio-active components in microalgae provide an added health benefit. This review describes various microalgal sources of proteins and other bio-active components. One of the heavily studied group of bio-active components are pigments due to their anticarcenogenic, antioxidative and antihypertensive properties.Compared to various plant and floral species, microalgae contain higher amounts of pigments.Microalgal derived proteins have complete Essential Amino Acids(EAA)profiles and their protein content is higher than conventional sources such as meat, poultry and dairy products. However, microalgal based functional foods have not flooded the market. The lack of awareness coupled with scarce incentives for producers result in under-exploitation of microalgal potential.Application of microalgal derived components as dietary and nutraceutical supplements is discussed comprehensively. | Apurav Krishna Koyande Kit Wayne Chew Krishnamoorthy Rambabu Yang Tao Dinh-Toi Chu Pau-Loke Show | 2019 | Food Science and Human Wellness2019,8,1: | 10 |
| 2 | A rapid and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometric assay for duloxetine in human plasma:Its pharmacokinetic application显示文摘This paper describes a simple, rapid and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry assay for the determination of duloxetine in human plasma. A duloxetine stable labeled isotope (duloxetine d 5 ) was used as an internal standard. Analyte and the internal standard were extracted from 100 mL of human plasma via solid phase extraction technique using Oasis HLB cartridges. The chromatographic separation was achieved on a C 18 column by using a mixture of acetonitrile-5 mM ammonium acetate buffer (83:17, v/v) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.9 mL/min. The calibration curve obtained was linear (r 2 Z0.99) over the concentration range of 0.05-101 ng/mL. Multiple-reaction monitoring mode (MRM) was used for quantification of ion transitions at m/z 298.3/154.1 and 303.3/159.1 for the drug and the internal standard, respectively. Method validation was performed as per FDA guidelines and the results met the acceptance criteria. A run time of 2.5 min for each sample made it possible to analyze more than 300 plasma samples per day. The proposed method was found to be applicable to clinical studies. | Ramakrishna Gajula Rambabu Maddela Vasu Babu Ravi Jaswanth Kumar Inamadugu Nageswara Rao Pilli | 2013 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2013,3,1: | 3 |
| 3 | Rational design of carbon shell-encapsulated cobalt nanospheres to enhance microwave absorption performance显示文摘Co@C core–shell nanospheres highly dispersed on carbon supports were rationally designed to improve the microwave absorbing property of the composite material, and fabricated by one pot thermal decomposition and simple annealing process. The Co nanospheres were completely encapsulated with thin carbon shells, which can effectively prevent the oxidation of the Co surface. Additionally, the particle size of Co nanospheres were properly controlled to optimize the electromagnetic property of the composite material. As a result, the lightweight Co@C/C composites with the particle size of 20 nm exhibited much enhanced microwave absorption properties. The improved microwave absorption performance is attributed mainly to the enhanced isotropic ratio and impedance matching of magnetic composites via tuning the Co particle size. Therefore, the welldesigned core-shell Co@C composite structure will provide a new insight for the development of high performance microwave absorbers. | Rambabu Kuchi Monika Sharma Sung Woo Lee Dongsoo Kim Namgee Jung Jong-Ryul Jeong | 2019 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2019,29,1: | 2 |

| 15 | Antimicrobial and antiproliferative prospective of kosinostatin-a secondary metabolite isolated from Streptomyces sp.显示文摘Cancer is a communal health hazard worldwide. The present investigation attempts to evaluate antimicrobial and anticancer potential of kosinostatin on mammary carcinoma cell line(MCF-7). The anticancer and antiproliferative activities of kosinostatin were analyzed on MCF cell line by MTT assay and cytotoxicity assays like lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) and glutathione(GSH). The secondary metabolite kosinostatin exhibited its apoptotic nature by expressing p53 protein. Collectively, the results acquired from this study promise that kosinostatin shows the potent anticancer activity. | Vinayagam Rambabu Subramaniyan Suba Suburamaniyan Vijayakumar | 2015 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2015,5,6: | 1 |
