1A survey on virtual reality显示文摘Virtual reality (VR) is a scientific method and technology created during the exploration of the nature by human beings to understand, simulate, and better adapt and use the nature. Based on the analysis on the whole process of VR, this paper presents different categories of VR problems and a type of theoretical expression, and abstracts three kinds of scientific and technical problems in VR field. On the basis of foresaid content, this paper also studies current major research objectives, research results and development trend of VR in the aspects of VR modeling method, VR representation technology, human-machine interaction and devices, VR development suites and supporting infrastructure, as well as VR applications. 2Structure guided texture inpainting through multi-scale patches and global optimization for image completion显示文摘Automatic image completion can provide convenient editing of consumer images.Most image completion methods find the best patch locally and then copy it to the hole region for texture inpainting.Since the best patch is fixed in size,it is hard to adapt these methods efciently either to various patterns or to content synthesis.Meanwhile,salient image structures can be estimated and propagated to guide the texture inpainting process for more plausible results.This paper presents a novel image completion method using structure guided texture inpainting.We do not require any interactions to achieve automatic two-stage image completion.In the structure completion stage,the salient structures around the hole region are detected,and then the missing structure curves are completed with Euler spiral.The textures along the structure curves are completed through belief propagation.In the texture inpainting stage,we propose multi-scale patches and global optimization to inpaint the remaining texture in the hole regions guided by the completed structures.First,with defined patch sizes,the hole region is divided into lattice patches,making it possible for multiple patch sizes to render multiscale descriptions of this image.A multi-scale graph is then built for the hole region and formulated as a posterior probability model.Second,using a simulated annealing based Markov chain Monte Carlo method,an inference algorithm is designed to find a global optimization solution for the posterior probability model.The experiments show that our method can automatically complete the hole region and preserve plausible structure shapes of existing ones in various scenarios.The texture inpainting results are more convincing with guidance from the completed structures,and our method can guarantee and accelerate convergence of the global optimization.CHEN XiaoWu ZHOU Bin GUO Yu XU Fang ZHAO QinPing 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,1:9

4Assessment of Human Impacts on Vegetation in Built-up Areas in China Based on AVHRR,MODIS and DMSP_OLS Nighttime Light Data,1992–2010显示文摘Since the reform and opening-up program started in 1978,the level of urbanization has increased rapidly in China.Rapid urban expansion and restructuring have had significant impacts on the ecological environment especially within built-up areas.In this study,ArcGIS 10,ENVI 4.5,and Visual FoxPro 6.0 were used to analyze the human impacts on vegetation in the built-up areas of 656Chinese cities from 1992 to 2010.Firstly,an existing algorithm was refined to extract the boundaries of the built-up areas based on the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program Operational Linescan System(DMSP_OLS)nighttime light data.This improved algorithm has the advantages of high accuracy and speed.Secondly,a mathematical model(Human impacts(HI))was constructed to measure the impacts of human factors on vegetation during rapid urbanization based on Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer(AVHRR)Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)NDVI.HI values greater than zero indicate relatively beneficial effects while values less than zero indicate proportionally adverse effects.The results were analyzed from four aspects:the size of cities(metropolises,large cities,medium-sized cities,and small cities),large regions(the eastern,central,western,and northeastern China),administrative divisions of China(provinces,autonomous regions,and municipalities)and vegetation zones(humid and semi-humid forest zone,semi-arid steppe zone,and arid desert zone).Finally,we discussed how human factors impacted on vegetation changes in the built-up areas.We found that urban planning policies and developmental stages impacted on vegetation changes in the built-up areas.The negative human impacts followed an inverted′U′shape,first rising and then falling with increase of urban scales.China′s national policies,social and economic development affected vegetation changes in the built-up areas.The findings can provide a scientific basis for municipal planning departments,a decision-making reference for government,and scientific guidance for sustainable development in China.LIU Qinping YANG Yongchun TIAN Hongzhen ZHANG Bo GU Lei 2014Chinese Geographical Science2014,24,2:5
5Phosphorite generative processes around the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary in South China: An integrated study of Mo and phosphate O isotopic compositions显示文摘Large phosphorite deposits in Central Guizhou,China,were formed around the Precambrian/Cambrian boundary(PC/C),including the Ediacaran(Doushantuo stage)and early Cambrian(Gezhongwu stage).Among them,Gezhongwu phosphorite from Zhijin are enriched in rare earth elements(REE)plus yttrium(REY),reaching 3.503 million tons.Although phosphorites have attracted great attention,the specific sources P and REY remained unclear.To determine the P and REY sources and establish a phosphogenic model of PC/C phosphorite,we present an integrated dataset of Mo and phosphate O isotopes for the first time,along with carbonate C and O isotopes,geology,petrology,and geochemistry.In all samples,d18Op,Y/Ho,and Zr/Hf decreased from the Ediacaran to the early Cambrian,indicating increased terrigenous weathering fluxes while decreased upwelling water input.Furthermore,terrigenous weathering delivery significantly elevated marine REY concentrations in the Cambrian in Zhijin.The Ceanom and d98/95Mo suggest that seawater was oxidized in the later Ediacaran and became entirely oxic in the early Cambrian.The positive feedback between oxygen levels in atmosphere and primary productivity caused progressive oxygenation in ocean-atmosphere system and enable phosphorites to be formed by different mechanisms.Results show that the Lower Doushantuo consist of abiotic intraclasts and exhibited“seawaterlike”REY types,indicating abiological and mechanical reworking phosphogenesis.The Upper Doushantuo and Gezhongwu Formation contained mainly microbial debris and abiogenic intraclasts,and exhibit “hat-shaped”REY plots,suggesting microbially mediated phosphogenesis.Based on this data set,we developed a phosphogenic model illustrating formation of these two phosphorite deposits,wherein the Lower Doushantuo phosphorite formed through the reworking of pre-existing phosphatic sediments in anoxic and abiotic ocean,whereas the Upper Doushantuo and Gezhongwu phosphorite formed via microbial metabolisms in oxic and biotic conditions.Our study has implications on the PC/C phosphorite generative processes,as well as paleoenvironmental conditions.Haiying Yang Jiafei Xiao Yong Xia Zhuojun Xie Qinping Tan Jianbin Xu Shan He Shengwei Wu Xiqiang Liu Xingxiang Gong 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,5:5

In this paper,we propose an automatic registration two range images method and a cycle based automatic global registration algorithm for rapidly and automatically registering all range images and constructing a realistic 3D model. Besides,to meet the requirement of huge data transmission over Internet,we present a 3D mesh encoding/decoding method for encoding geometry,topology and attribute data with high compression ratio and supporting progressive transmission. 7Video motion stitching using trajectory and position similarities显示文摘Stitching motions in multiple videos into a single video scene is a challenging task in current video fusion and mosaicing research and film production. In this paper, we present a novel method of video motion stitching based on the similarities of trajectory and position of foreground objects. First, multiple video sequences are registered in a common reference frame, whereby we estimate the static and dynamic backgrounds, with the former responsible for distinguishing the foreground from the background and the static region from the dynamic region, and the latter functioning in mosaicing the warped input video sequences into a panoramic video. Accordingly, the motion similarity is calculated by reference to trajectory and position similarity, whereby the corresponding motion parts are extracted from multiple video sequences. Finally, using the corresponding motion parts, the foregrounds of different videos and dynamic backgrounds are fused into a single video scene through Poisson editing, with the motions involved being stitched together. Our major contributions are a framework of multiple video mosaicing based on motion similarity and a method of calculating motion similarity from the trajectory similarity and the position similarity. Experiments on everyday videos show that the agreement of trajectory and position similarities with the real motion similarity plays a decisive role in determining whether two motions can be stitched. 8Analysis of the visible fracture system of coalseam in Chengzhuang Coalmine of Jincheng City,Shanxi Province显示文摘In No. 3 coalseam of Chengzhuang Coalmine of Jincheng City, there exists the visible fracture system consisting of joints, gas-expanding fractures and cleats. The gas-expanding fractures develop mainly in the bright coal sub-layer and cleats, in the vitrain and bright coal. The joints fall into two types, one developing in the coalseam and the other cutting through the whole coalseam and entering into the top and bottom rock layer. The development direction of joints is basically similar to that of gas-expanding fractures: NNE and NNW. The formation of the visible fracture system is classified as the stage of the development of cleat fissures in the coalification period, the stage of the full development of cleats and the formation of gas-expanding fractures in the second coalification period and the stage of the formation of joints by structural function. There is the spatial unhomoge-neity in three dimensions for the visible fracture system of the coal seam in Chengzhuang Coalmine: the regular distribution of the visible fractures as groups in the plane and the coal sub-layer with high permeability rate in profile. 9Data acquisition and simulation of natural phenomena显示文摘Virtual natural phenomena obtained through mathematical-physical modeling and simulation as well as graphics emulation can meet the user’s requirements for sensory experiences to a certain extent but they can hardly have the same accurate physical consistency as real natural phenomena.The technology for data acquisition and natural phenomena simulation can enable us to obtain multi-dimensional and multi-modal data directly from real natural phenomena and,based on these real data,to establish digital models highly consistent with real natural phenomena in appearance,physics,behavior or many other aspects,thus making a virtual natural phenomenon a direct mapping of real natural phenomenon.This approach is conducive to resolving problems concerning the reliability and availability of virtual reality.At present the technology for acquiring and simulating dada of natural phenomena is still in its initial stage.This paper gives a review of the related investigations.Firstly,we briefly introduce the basic methods and techniques concerned,then,based on the difference between the basic elements of various natural phenomena,we discuss the current studies on such natural phenomena as light,water,fire,smoke,dynamic terrain,etc.,and finally,in connection with issues in the present research and possible future direction of development,we put forth a number of theoretical and technical problems,hoping they can be resolved in the near future.ZHAO QinPing 2011Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,4:4

11A point-based rendering approach for real-time interaction on mobile devices显示文摘Mobile device is an important interactive platform. Due to the limitation of computation, memory, display area and energy, how to realize the efficient and real-time interaction of 3D models based on mobile devices is an important research topic. Considering features of mobile devices, this paper adopts remote rendering mode and point models, and then, proposes a transmission and rendering approach that could interact in real time. First, improved simplification algorithm based on MLS and display resolution of mobile devices is proposed. Then, a hierarchy selection of point models and a QoS transmission control strategy are given based on interest area of operator, interest degree of object in the virtual environment and rendering error. They can save the energy consumption. Finally, the rendering and interaction of point models are completed on mobile devices. 12Fast and compact dynamic data compression based on composite rigid body construction显示文摘3D dynamic datasets compression still poses two challenges. One is high time cost due to growing data and complex computation of compression algorithms. The other is low compression factor because of complex motions of dynamic scenes and unknown motion equations. In this paper, composite rigid body construction for fast and compact compression of 3D dynamic datasets is proposed to solve these two problems. It accelerates the compression with a fast rigid body decomposition based on disjoint union, and avoids serial searching, comparing and merging of the rigid body decomposition. To increase the compression factor,composite rigid body is introduced with consideration of motion consistency among rigid bodies at different time periods. 13Geological and geochemical characteristics of the Baogudi Carlintype gold district(Southwest Guizhou, China) and their geological implications显示文摘The newly discovered Baogudi gold district is located in the southwestern Guizhou Province,China,where there are numerous Carlin-type gold deposits.To better understand the geological and geochemical characteristics of the Baogudi gold district,we carried out petrographic observations,elemental analyses,and fluid inclusion and isotopic composition studies.We also compared the results with those of typical Carlin-type gold deposits in southwestern Guizhou.Three mineralization stages,namely,the sedimentation diagenesis,hydrothermal(main-ore and late-ore substages),and supergene stages,were identified based on field and petrographic observations.The main-ore and late-ore stages correspond to Au and Sb mineralization,respectively,which are similar to typical Carlin-type mineralization.The mass transfer associated with alteration and mineralization shows that a significant amount of Au,As,Sb,Hg,Tl,Mo,and S were added to mineralized rocks during the main-ore stage.Remarkably,arsenic,Sb,and S were added to the mineralized rocks during the late-ore stage.Element migration indicates that the sulfidation process was responsible for ore formation.Four types of fluid inclusions were identified in ore-related quartz and fluorite.The main-ore stage fluids are characterized by an H2O–NaCl–CO2–CH4±N2system,with medium to low temperatures(180–260℃)and low salinity(0–9.08%NaCl equivalent).The late-ore stage fluids featured H2O–NaCl±CO2±CH4,with low temperature(120–200℃)and low salinity(0–7.48%Na Cl equivalent).The temperature,salinity,and CO2and CH4concentrations of ore-forming fluids decreased from the main-ore stage to the late-ore stage.The calculated δ^13C,d D,and δ^18O values of the ore-forming fluids range from-14.3 to-7.0%,-76 to-55.7%,and 4.5–15.0%,respectively.Late-ore-stage stibnite had δ^34S values ranging from-0.6 to 1.9%.These stable isotopic compositions indicate that the ore-forming fluids originated mainly from deep magmatic hydrothermal fluids,with minor contributions from strata.Collectively,the Baogudi metallogenic district has geological and geochemical characteristics that are typical of Carlin-type gold deposits in southwest Guizhou.It is likely that the Baogudi gold district,together with other Carlin-type gold deposits in southwestern Guizhou,was formed in response to a single widespread metallogenic event.Songtao Li Yong Xia Jianzhong Liu Zhuojun Xie Qinping Tan Yimeng Zhao Minghua Meng Lijin Tan Rong Nie Zepeng Wang Guanghong Zhou Haiyan Guo 2019Acta Geochimica2019,38,4:1

19Personalized cardiovascular intervention simulation system显示文摘Background This study proposes a series of geometry and physics modeling methods for personalized cardiovascular intervention procedures,which can be applied to a virtual endovascular simulator.Methods Based on personalized clinical computed tomography angiography(CTA)data,mesh models of the cardiovascular system were constructed semi-automatically.By coupling 4 D magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)sequences corresponding to a complete cardiac cycle with related physics models,a hybrid kinetic model of the cardiovascular system was built to drive kinematics and dynamics simulation.On that basis,the surgical procedures related to intervention instruments were simulated using specially-designed physics models.These models can be solved in real-time;therefore,the complex interactions between blood vessels and instruments can be well simulated.Additionally,X-ray imaging simulation algorithms and realistic rendering algorithms for virtual intervention scenes are also proposed.In particular,instrument tracking hardware with haptic feedback was developed to serve as the interaction interface of real instruments and the virtual intervention system.Finally,a personalized cardiovascular intervention simulation system was developed by integrating the techniques mentioned above.Results This system supported instant modeling and simulation of personalized clinical data and significantly improved the visual and haptic immersions of vascular intervention simulation.Conclusions It can be used in teaching basic cardiology and effectively satisfying the demands of intervention training,personalized intervention planning,and rehearsing.Aimin HAO Jiahao CUI Shuai LI Qinping ZHAO 2020Virtual Reality & Intelligent Hardware2020,2,2:1
