1Elemental sulfur in northern South China Sea sediments and its significance显示文摘Elemental sulfur(ES) is one of the intermediates in the inorganic sulfur cycle and thus plays a key role in the fractionation of stable sulfur isotopes in different reservoirs and the marine environment. In this study, solid ES is discovered in sediments near the Jiulong Methane Reef in the northern South China Sea by scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Combining the morphology and distribution of ES, pyrite concentrations, and sulfur isotopes, we conclude that:(1) solid ES coexists with pyrite microcrystals and sulfide(oxyhydr)oxides as well as clay minerals, and they are mainly distributed on the surface of mineral aggregates;(2) ES mainly occurs within and near the sulfate-methane transition zone(SMTZ) despite little morphological diversity;(3) ES formation might be related to hydrogen sulfide oxidation and is therefore linked with fluctuations in the SMTZ. Within the SMTZ, hydrogen sulfide is produced and pyrite precipitates because of enhanced anaerobic oxidation of methane coupled with dissimilatory sulfate reduction. This enhances the efficiency of the inorganic sulfur cycle and provides favorable conditions for ES formation. 2Synthesis and characterization of γ-alumina nanospheres templated by lauric acid显示文摘A novel route for the synthesis of alumina nanospheres was reported by a surfactant-governed approach in the presence of lauric acid.The products were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscope (SEM) and N2 adsorption-desorption techniques.The results show that the produced alumina nanospheres possess uniform nanosphere sizes ranging from 80 120 nm,and high surface area of 550 m2/g.It suggests that the synthesized alumina nanospheres are formed through self-assembly of surfactant/alumina species complex in 1-propanol system.Qingtao Fu Tingting He lianqing Yu Yongming Chai Chenguang Liu 2010Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2010,19,6:1
3Polymorphism study of nine SNPs associated with subjective response to alcohol in Chinese Han, Hui, Tibetan, Mongolian and Uygur populations显示文摘Heavy alcohol drinking is a major public health problem,causing a large disease,social and economic burden in societies.Subjective response (SR) to alcohol is an intermediate characteristic of heavy drinking.A variety of candidate genes have been reported to be associated with SR to alcohol.In this study,we investigated nine single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) related to SR to alcohol in healthy individuals from five Chinese ethnic groups,the Han,Hui,Tibetan,Mongolian and Uygur populations,and a total of 584 bloodstain samples were collected.The nine SNPs included four SNPs in alcohol-metabolizing genes (ADH1B,ADH1C,ALDH2 and CYP2E1*5B) and five SNPs in genes of neurobiological pathways (GABRA2,OPRM1,CHRNA3,HYKK and SLC6A4).A SNaPshot analysis method was developed to type these SNPs simultaneously,and all samples were typed successfully.Statistical analyses of the allele frequencies indicated that the frequencies of all SNPs,except for ADH1C,showed varying degrees of difference in the five studied ethnic groups.Tibetans showed the highest frequencies of risk alleles for heavy drinking at most loci.The genetic polymorphic differences found in this study revealed the variation in genetic susceptibility to heavy drinking in the studied populations.Qingtao Wei Yi Ye Fan Chen Jienan Li Hao Wu Yingqiang Fu Youyi Yan Linchuan Liao 2018Forensic Sciences Research2018,3,2:1
4Preparation and properties of magnetic alumina microspheres with a γ-Fe_2O_3/SiO_2 core and Al_2O_3 shell显示文摘Magnetic alumina composite microspheres with γ-Fe 2 O 3 core/Al 2 O 3 shell structure were prepared by the oil column method. A dense silica layer was deposited on the surface of γ-Fe 2 O 3 particles (denoted as γ-Fe 2 O 3 /SiO 2 ) with a desired thickness to protect the iron oxide core against acidic or high temperature conditions. γ-Fe 2 O 3 /SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 particles with about 85 wt% Al 2 O 3 were obtained and showed to be suitable for practical applications as a magnetic catalyst or catalyst support due to their magnetic properties and pore structure. The products were characterized with scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM), nitrogen adsorption-desorption, and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The specific surface area and pore volume of the γ-Fe 2 O 3 /SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 composite microspheres calcined at 500 ? 5Metabolomic Analysis of the Brain and Blood from Rats Exposed to High‑dose Chlorpyrifos显示文摘Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphate pesticide used to kill pests such as insects and worms.Wide use of chlorpyrifos has led to serious safety concerns worldwide.Research on the mechanism of action of chlorpyrifos poisoning is continuing.We investigated changes in the small‑molecular metabolites in the brain and blood of rats upon exposure to chlorpyrifos at an acute‑poisoning dose.Rats were given twice the lowest dose of chlorpyrifos that is lethal for 100%of exposed animals(2×LD_(100))and then killed after 2 h.After treatment,gas chromatography‑mass spectrometry was used to analyze the metabolomic changes in the brain and blood samples of rats.An increase in blood levels of creatinine and uric acid were noted,along with a decrease in levels of various amino acids.These changes suggested that chlorpyrifos exposure may damage kidney function and cause disorders in amino‑acid metabolism of rats.Decreased concentrations of gamma‑aminobutyric acid and niacinamide in the brain and increased concentrations of 3‑hydroxybutyric acid in rats with acute poisoning by chlorpyrifos were observed,which may suggest oxidative damage in the body.Hao Wu Qingtao Wei Yuzi Zheng Shiyong Fang Yingqiang Fu Linchuan Liao 2019Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine2019,5,1:0
