| 1 | Geochemical evidence for submarine hydrothermal origin of the Middle-Upper Permian chert in Laibin of Guangxi, China显示文摘Lithologically, two kinds of chert can be recognized in the Middle-Upper Permian from the Tieqiao section in Laibin area, Guangxi, i.e., calcic chert occurring mainly in the Maokou Formation and pure chert mainly in the Wujiaping Formation. Geo- chemical data show that both kinds of chert contain very low Al2O3 (0-0.23%) and TiO2 (0.001%-0.024%) and low ΣREE (0.55-19.94 ppm, averaging 9.97 ppm), as well as high ratio of Fe2O3/TiO2 (17-443, averaging 111) and low ratio of Al2O3/(Al2O3+Fe2O3) (0-0.26, averaging 0.09). Given that the average value Ce anomalies in chert deposited in the ridge-proximal environment is about 0.29, and that in the pelagic environment is about 0.60, the low Ce anomalies in the Tieqiao chert (0.24-0.46, averaging 0.35) imply that they were deposited in an ocean basin with influence of submarine hydrothermal fluid and no input of terrigenous materials. The vertical variation of the silica abundance in strata (SAIS) in the Middle-Upper Permian strata, together with the Eu anomalies and the ratios of ΣREE/Fe, indicates a relationship between the hydrothermal activity and the Emeishan basalt eruption, and that submarine hydrothermal activity was stronger in the Upper Permian (the Wujiapingian Stage) than in the Middle Permian (the Maokou Stage). | QIU Zhen WANG QingChen | 2011 | Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,7: | 25 |
| 2 | Late Mesozoic extensional tectonics of the Liaodong Peninsula massif:Response of crust to continental lithosphere destruction of the North China Craton显示文摘Unlike most Precambrian cratons that have thick sub-continental lithospheric roots,the Archean lithosphere beneath the North China Craton is thin (reduced from 200 km to about 80 km),and has been replaced by a geochemically juvenile lithospheric mantle.This is a unique regional geological event,which has attracted worldwide attention.In the North China Block,Late Mesozoic extensional tectonics is evident by low-angle detachment faults,syntectonic plutons bounded by ductile faults,metamorphic core complexes (MCC) and widespread Jurassic to Cretaceous half-grabens filled by continental terrigenous deposits and volcanic rocks.At a regional scale,these structures share the same NW-SE extensional direction,while maintaining their own individual kinematics.In other words,the MCC feature a top-to-the-NW sense of shear,and syntectonic plutons are typified by a top-to-the-SE shearing deformations.Geochronological results indicate that the extensional structures were formed between 130-120 Ma.These extensional events lead to magmatic rock emplacement,distributed at the footwall of the detachment faults.Two different exhumation stages can be identified based on regional structural and magmatic interpretation:a Jurassic slow or negligible exhumation and a Cretaceous fast one assisted by normal faulting.These two cooling stages correspond to distinct geodynamic processes that occurred during the Jurassic and Cretaceous.Extensional tectonics appear to have been insignificant before the Early Cretaceous,and the process may be demonstrated by partial melting of the crust.The second stage,dominated by an extensional regime,developed after ca 120 Ma,and is tentatively correlated with crustal extension caused by lithospheric removal of the North China Craton. | LIN Wei WANG QingChen WANG Jun WANG Fei CHU Yang CHEN Ke | 2011 | Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,6: | 24 |

The discussion included the following key points: ( i ) UHP eclogite has two kinds of country rocks, with one being UHP eclogite facies rocks and the other non-UHP granitic gneiss. ( ii ) The FeTiO3 in olivine indicated exsolution at depth of 300-400 km. However, the key point is to prove the peridotite in which the FeTiO3 in olivine was found once had been subducted down that depth. | 4 | Geochemical changes across the Ordovician-Silurian transition on the Yangtze Platform,South China显示文摘The trace element and rare earth element(REE) variations across the Ordovician-Silurian succession are presented from two outcrop sections on the Yangtze Platform:the Nanbazi section,Guizhou Province,deposited in a shallow platform interior setting,and the Wangjiawan section,Hubei Province,deposited in a deeper basinal environment.Geochemical analysis of closely spaced samples through three intervals,the Wufeng,Guanyinqiao and Longmaxi,revealed vast palaeoceanographic changes.Some geochemical proxies,including Th/U,Ni/Co,V/Cr,and V/(V+Ni) ratios,together with sedimentary facies and biotic data,indicate that an anoxic condition on the most of the Yangtze Platform during the Wufeng and Longmaxi intervals,but an oxic condition during the Guanyinqiao time.The shift of the anoxic to the oxic environment during the Guanyinqiao time coincided with a global sea-level lowstand,in parallel with the global glaciation.The Longmaxian anoxic environment was a result of a global sea-level rise,which may be synchronized with a mainly catastrophic event in the latest Ordovician.Although the two sections generally show similar variation patterns of trace and REE concentrations and some element ratios,a minor difference occurs between the Wangjiawan and Nanbazi sections,likely reflecting a difference in depositional setting during the accumulation.Such an oceanic oxygen-level variation may add a useful constraint to the current arguments on the cause and consequence of the latest Ordovician mass extinction. | YAN DeTian CHEN DaiZhao WANG QingChen WANG JianGuo | 2009 | Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,1: | 17 |

| 6 | High-Q resonances governed by the quasi-bound states in the continuum in all-dielectric metasurfaces显示文摘The realization of high-Q resonances in a silicon metasurface with various broken-symmetry blocks is reported. Theoretical analysis reveals that the sharp resonances in the metasurfaces originate from symmetry-protected bound in the continuum(BIC) and the magnetic dipole dominates these peculiar states. A smaller size of the defect in the broken-symmetry block gives rise to the resonance with a larger Q factor. Importantly, this relationship can be tuned by changing the structural parameter, resulting from the modulation of the topological configuration of BICs. Consequently, a Q factor of more than 3,000 can be easily achieved by optimizing dimensions of the nanostructure. At this sharp resonance, the intensity of the third harmonic generation signal in the patterned structure can be 368 times larger than that of the flat silicon film. | 8 | Development of joints and shear fractures in the Kuqa depression and its implication to regional stress field switching显示文摘The superimposed basin must have undergone the changes of regional stress field. Study on the nature and switch of regional stress field of superimposed basin is very useful to understanding its stress state and tectonic events during its formation and evolution. As sensitive markers of small stress changes, joint and shear fracture, characterized by consistency of ori-entation over wide area, can be used to reconstruct paleostress state and its evolution. Detailed observations and analysis on the orientations, geometrical patterns, sequences of joints and shear fractures and their chronological relation to faults and folds show that, the NEE-SWW systematic joints and NNW-SSE systematic joints developed in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic strata are much more prominent than NW-SE systematic joints and shear fractures with different orientations. And the NWW-SEE and NW-SE systematic joints formed later than NEE-SWW systematic joints but earlier than shear fractures with different orientations. According to the rela-tionships between joint and shear fractures and stress, the NEE-SWW systematic joints are in-ferred to result from lateral weak extension caused by the late Cretaceous regional uplift, while the NNW-SSE and NW-SE systematic joints are interpreted as syn-tectonic deformation relating to strong N-S compression in the Neogene. But some conjugate shear fractures occur probably due to sinistral strike-slip faulting in the Kuqa depression. | 10 | Responses of zonal wind at -40°N to stratospheric sudden warming events in the stratosphere, mesosphere and lower thermosphere显示文摘Based on the data at^40°N at different longitudes during different stratospheric sudden warming(SSW)events,the responses of zonal winds in the stratosphere,mesosphere and lower thermosphere to SSWs are studied in this paper.The variations of zonal wind over Langfang,China(39.4°N,116.7°E)by MF radar and the modern era retrospective-analysis for research and applications(MERRA)wind data during 2010 and 2013 SSW and over Fort Collins,USA(41°N,105°W)by lidar and MERRA wind data during 2009 SSW are compared.Results show that the zonal wind at^40°N indeed respond to the SSWs while different specifics are found in different SSW events or at different locations.The zonal wind has significant anomalies during the SSWs.Over Langfang,before the onset of 2010 and 2013 SSW,the zonal wind reverses from eastward to westward below about 60–70 km and accelerates above this region,while westward wind prevails from 30 to 100 km after the onset of2010 SSW,and westward wind prevails in 30–60 and 85–100 km and eastward wind prevails in 60–85 km after the onset of2013 SSW.Over Fort Collins during 2009 SSW,eastward wind reverses to westward in 20–30 km before the onset while westward wind prevails in 20–30 and 60–97 km and eastward wind prevails in 30–60 and in 97–100 km after the onset.Moreover,simulations by the specified dynamics version of the whole atmosphere community climate model(SD-WACCM)are taken to explain different responding specifics of zonal wind to SSW events.It is found that the modulation of planetary wave(PW)plays the main role.Different phases of PWs would lead to the different zonal wind along with longitudes and the different amplitudes and phases in different SSW events can lead to the different zonal wind responses. | YANG JunFeng XIAO CunYing HU Xiong XU QingChen | 2017 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2017,60,6: | 5 |
| 11 | Rutile U-Pb age for the ultra-high pressure eclogite from the Dabie Mountains, central China: Evidence for rapid cooling显示文摘The U-Pb isotope compositions of rutile, om-phacite and garnet in the eclogite from the Jinheqiao area in the Southern Dabie ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic zonewere analyzed. The consistent high precision U-Pb age (218± 1.2) Ma of rutile in eclogite from the Dabie Mountains was obtained by two ways of isochron and common Pb correction based on the composition of omphacite. This proves that the omphacite in eclogite has a U/Pb ratio (μ = 2.8) low enough to be used for common Pb correction in the analyses of rutile. Under the rapid cooling condition (40℃/Ma) the closure temperature for U-Pb diffusion in rutile is about 470℃. | 12 | Magnetostratigraphic study of Cretaceous depositional succession in the northern Kuqa Depression,Northwest China显示文摘There are some quite different disputes about chronostratigraphic division of the Cretaceous in the Kuqa Depression, northern margin of the Tarim Basin. We then carried on a magnetostratigraphic study on Cretaceous succession in the Kuqa River and Kezilenuer Channel profiles. Detailed paleomag- netic analyses on 446 specimens from 265 sites permit a construction of a preliminary magnetic polar- ity sequence for the Cretaceous strata. Together with paleobiologic constraints from calcareous nannofos- sils, magnetostratigraphic results show that the Bash- enjiqike Formation was probably deposited during the late Campanian to Maastrichtian stages of the Late Cretaceous, ranging from about 79.1 to 65.6 Ma. On the other hand, magnetozones identified from the Yageliemu, Shushanhe, and Baxigai formations may principally correlate with chrons M18r to M3 of the Geomagnetic Polarity Time Scale (GPTS). This cor- relation suggests that these three formations were very likely to be formed during the early-middle stage of the Early Cretaceous between the Berriasian to the early Berremian stages (141.9―124.1Ma). | 14 | Building Osteogenic Microenvironments with a Double-Network Composite Hydrogel for Bone Repair显示文摘The critical factor determining the in vivo effect of bone repair materials is the microenvironment,which greatly depends on their abilities to promote vascularization and bone formation.However,implant materials are far from ideal candidates for guiding bone regeneration due to their deficient angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments.Herein,a double-network composite hydrogel combining vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)-mimetic peptide with hydroxyapatite(HA)precursor was developed to build an osteogenic microenvironment for bone repair.The hydrogel was prepared by mixing acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins and octacalcium phosphate(OCP),an HA precursor,with gelatin solution,followed by ultraviolet photo-crosslinking.To improve the angiogenic potential of the hydrogel,QK,a VEGF-mimicking peptide,was loaded in acrylatedβ-cyclodextrins.The QK-loaded hydrogel promoted tube formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells and upregulated the expression of angiogenesis-related genes,such as Flt1,Kdr,and VEGF,in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Moreover,QK could recruit bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.Furthermore,OCP in the composite hydrogel could be transformed into HA and release calcium ions facilitating bone regeneration.The double-network composite hydrogel integrated QK and OCP showed obvious osteoinductive activity.The results of animal experiments showed that the composite hydrogel enhanced bone regeneration in skull defects of rats,due to perfect synergistic effects of QK and OCP on vascularized bone regeneration.In summary,improving the angiogenic and osteogenic microenvironments by our double-network composite hydrogel shows promising prospects for bone repair. | Jiaying Li Jinjin Ma Qian Feng En Xie Qingchen Meng Wenmiao Shu Junxi Wu Liming Bian Fengxuan Han Bin Li | 2023 | Research2023,,3: | 3 |

| 16 | Arabidopsis EXO70A1 recruits Patellin3 to the cell membrane independent of its role as an exocyst subunit显示文摘The exocyst is a well-known complex which tethers vesicles at the cell membrane before fusion. Whether an individual subunit can execute a unique function is largely unknown. Using yeast-two-hybrid(Y2H) analysis, we found that EXO70A1 interacted with the GOLD domain of Patellin3(PATL3). The direct EXO70A1-PATL3 interaction was supported by in vitro and in vivo experiments. In Arabidopsis, PATL3-GFP colocalized with EXO70A1 predominantly at the cell membrane, and PATL3 localization was insensitive to BFA and Try A23. Remarkably, in the exo70 a1 mutant, PATL3 proteins accumulated as punctate structures within the cytosol, which did not colocalize with several endomembrane compartment markers, and was insensitive to BFA. Furthermore, PATL3 localization was not changed in the exo70 e2, PRsec6 or exo84b mutants. These data suggested that EXO70A1, but not other exocyst subunits, was responsible for PATL3 localization,which is independent of its role in secretory/recycling vesicletethering/fusion. Both EXO70A1 and PATL3 were shown to bind PI4 P and PI(4,5)P2 in vitro. | 18 | TGF-β1-supplemented decellularized annulus fibrosus matrix hydrogels promote annulus fibrosus repair显示文摘Annulus fibrosus(AF)repair remains a challenge because of its limited self-healing ability.Endogenous repair strategies combining scaffolds and growth factors show great promise in AF repair.Although the unique and beneficial characteristics of decellularized extracellular matrix(ECM)in tissue repair have been demonstrated,the poor mechanical property of ECM hydrogels largely hinders their applications in tissue regeneration.In the present study,we combined polyethylene glycol diacrylate(PEGDA)and decellularized annulus fibrosus matrix(DAFM)to develop an injectable,photocurable hydrogel for AF repair.We found that the addition of PEGDA markedly improved the mechanical strength of DAFM hydrogels while maintaining their porous structure.Transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)was further incorporated into PEGDA/DAFM hydrogels,and it could be continuously released from the hydrogel.The in vitro experiments showed that TGF-β1 facilitated the migration of AF cells.Furthermore,PEGDA/DAFM/TGF-β1 hydrogels supported the adhesion,proliferation,and increased ECM production of AF cells.In vivo repair performance of the hydrogels was assessed using a rat AF defect model.The results showed that the implantation of PEGDA/DAFM/TGF-β1 hydrogels effectively sealed the AF defect,prevented nucleus pulposus atrophy,retained disc height,and partially restored the biomechanical properties of disc.In addition,the implanted hydrogel was infiltrated by cells resembling AF cells and well integrated with adjacent AF tissue.In summary,findings from this study indicate that TGF-β1-supplemented DAFM hydrogels hold promise for AF repair. | Qiang Wei Dachuan Liu Genglei Chu Qifan Yu Zhao Liu Jiaying Li Qingchen Meng Weishan Wang Fengxuan Han Bin Li | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,1: | 3 |

| 20 | Single-cell atlas reveals a distinct immune profile fostered by T cell-B cell crosstalk in triple negative breast cancer显示文摘Background:Characterizing the unique immune microenvironment of each tumor is of great importance for better predicting prognosis and guiding cancer immunotherapy.However,the unique features of the immune microenvironment of triple negative breast cancer(TNBC)compared with other subtypes of breast cancer remain elusive.Therefore,we aimed to depict and compare the immune landscape among TNBC,human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive(HER2^(+))breast cancer,and luminal-like breast cancer.Methods:Single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)was performed on CD45^(+)immune cells isolated from human normal breast tissues and primary breast tumors of various subtypes.By analyzing the scRNA-seq data,immune cell clusters were identified and their proportions as well as transcriptome features were compared among TNBC,human HER2^(+)breast cancer,and luminal-like breast cancer.Pseudotime and cell-cell communication analyses were also conducted to characterize the immune microenvironment.Results:ScRNA-seq data of 117,958 immune cells were obtained and 31 immune clusters were identified.A unique immunosuppressive microenvironment in TNBC was decoded as compared to that in HER2^(+)or luminal-like breast cancer,which was characterized by higher proportions of regulatory T cells(Tregs)and exhausted CD8+T cells and accompanied by more abundant plasma cells.Tregs and exhausted CD8+T cells in TNBC exhibited increased immunosuppression signature and dysfunctional scores.Pseudotime analyses showed that B cells tended to differentiate to plasma cells in TNBC.Cell-cell communication analyses indicated that these unique features are fostered by the diversified T cell-B cell crosstalk in TNBC.Based on the T cell-B cell crosstalk,a prognostic signaturewas established that could effectively predict the prognosis status for patients with TNBC.Additionally,it was found that TNBC had a higher proportion of cytotoxic natural killer(NK)cells,whereas HER2^(+)or luminal-like breast cancer lost this feature,suggesting thatHER2^(+)or luminal-like breast cancer,but not TNBC,may benefit from NK-based immunotherapy.Conclusions:This study identified a distinct immune feature fostered by T cell-B cell crosstalk in TNBC,which provides better prognostic information and effective therapeutic targets for breast cancer. | Shuning Ding Niu Qiao Qingchen Zhu Yiwei Tong Shengyue Wang Xiaosong Chen Qiang Tian Yichuan Xiao Kunwei Shen | 2023 | Cancer Communications2023,43,6: | 2 |
