2Hybrid first and second order attention Unet for building segmentation in remote sensing images显示文摘Recently,building segmentation(BS)has drawn significant attention in remote sensing applications.Convolutional neural networks(CNNs)have become the mainstream analysis approach in this field owing to their powerful representative ability.However,owing to the variation in building appearance,designing an effective CNN architecture for BS still remains a challenging task.Most of CNN-based BS methods mainly focus on deep or wide network architectures,neglecting the correlation among intermediate features.To address this problem,in this paper we propose a hybrid first and second order attention network(HFSA)that explores both the global mean and the inner-product among different channels to adaptively rescale intermediate features.As a result,the HFSA can not only make full use of first order feature statistics,but also incorporate the second order feature statistics,which leads to more representative feature.We conduct a series of comprehensive experiments on three widely used aerial building segmentation data sets and one satellite building segmentation data set.The experimental results show that our newly developed model achieves better segmentation performance over state-of-the-art models in terms of both quantitative and qualitative results.Nanjun HE Leyuan FANG Antonio PLAZA 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,4:15
3Functions of NKG2D in CD8^(+) T cells: an opportunity for immunotherapy显示文摘Natural killer group 2 member D(NKG2D)is a type II transmembrane receptor.NKG2D is present on NK cells in both mice and humans,whereas it is constitutively expressed on CD8+T cells in humans but only expressed upon T-cell activation in mice.NKG2D is a promiscuous receptor that recognizes stress-induced surface ligands.In NK cells,NKG2D signaling is sufficient to unleash the killing response;in CD8+T cells,this requires concurrent activation of the T-cell receptor(TCR).In this case,the function of NKG2D is to authenticate the recognition of a stressed target and enhance TCR signaling.CD28 has been established as an archetype provider of costimulation during T-cell priming.It has become apparent,however,that signals from other costimulatory receptors,such as NKG2D,are required for optimal T-cell function outside the priming phase.This review will focus on the similarities and differences between NKG2D and CD28;less well-described characteristics of NKG2D,such as the potential role of NKG2D in CD8+T-cell memory formation,cancer immunity and autoimmunity;and the opportunities for targeting NKG2D in immunotherapy.Kushal Prajapati Cynthia Perez Lourdes Beatriz Plaza Rojas Brianna Burke Jose A Guevara-Patino 2018Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,5:7

5A new sensor bias-driven spatio-temporal fusion model based on convolutional neural networks显示文摘Owing to the tradeoff between scanning swath and pixel size,currently no satellite Earth observation sensors are able to collect images with high spatial and temporal resolution simultaneously.This limits the application of satellite images in many fields,including the characterization of crop yields or the detailed investigation of human-nature interactions.Spatio-temporal fusion(STF)is a widely used approach to solve the aforementioned problem.Traditional STF methods reconstruct fine-resolution images under the assumption that changes are able to be transferred directly from one sensor to another.However,this assumption may not hold in real scenarios,owing to the different capacity of available sensors to characterize changes.In this paper,we model such differences as a bias,and introduce a new sensor bias-driven STF model(called BiaSTF)to mitigate the differences between the spectral and spatial distortions presented in traditional methods.In addition,we propose a new learning method based on convolutional neural networks(CNNs)to efficiently obtain this bias.An experimental evaluation on two public datasets suggests that our newly developed method achieves excellent performance when compared to other available approaches.Yunfei LI Jun LI Lin HE Jin CHEN Antonio PLAZA 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,4:7
6Adenoviral-mediated Hath1-EGFP gene transfer into guinea pig cochlea through intact round window membrane显示文摘Objective To study expression of adenoviral-mediated Hath1-EGFP gene in the guinea pig cochlea after transfer through intact round window membrane(RWM), and to assess its effects on hearing. Methods Twenty adult guinea pigs were used, of which: 12 were surgically inoculated with Ad-Hath1-EGFP in the bony groove of round window niche, and 8 with artificial perilymph. Auditory brainstem response(ABR) thresholds were determined in all animals before and 5 days after surgery. On post-surgery day 5 and day 14, animals were sacrificed and whole mounts of cochlea and frozen sections were examined. Results ABR tests showed no significant change of hearing after the surgery. Strong fluorescence staining in the cochleae was seen in Ad-Hath1-EGFP groups. The highest levels of gene expression were seen in the post-surgery day 5 group with little decrease on post-surgery day 14.The contralateral cochlea and those in the control groups were free of fluorescence staining. 7Effects of Composted and Thermally Dried Sewage Sludges on Soil and Soil Humic Acid Properties显示文摘The effect of annual additions of composted sewage sludge (CS) and thermally dried sewage sludge (TS) at 80 t ha-1 on soil chemical properties was investigated for three years in a field experiment under semiarid conditions. Humic acids (HAs) isolated by conventional procedures from CS, TS, and unamended (SO) and sludge amended soils were analysed for elemental (C, H, N, S and O) and acidic functional groups (carboxylic and phenolic) and by ultraviolet-visible, Fourier transform infrared and fluorescence spectroscopies. With respect to CS, TS had similar pH and total P and K contents, larger dry matter, total organic C, total N and C/N ratio and smaller ash content and electrical conductivity. Amendment with both CS and TS induced a number of modifications in soil properties, including an increase of pH, electrical conductivity, total organic C, total N, and available P. The CS-HA had greater O, total acidity, carboxyl, and phenolic OH group contents and smaller C and H contents than TS-HA. The CS-HA and TS-HA had larger N and S contents, smaller C, O and acidic functional group contents, and lower aromatic polycondensation and humification degrees than SO-HA. Amended soil-HAs showed C, H, N and S contents larger than SO-HA, suggesting that sludge HAs were partially incorporated into soil HAs. 10Biosorption of mercury by Macrocystis pyrifera and Undaria pinnatifida:Influence of zinc,cadmium and nickel显示文摘This study investigated the adsorption of Hg(Ⅱ) on Macrocystis pyrifera and Undaria pinnatifida in monometallic system in the presence of Zn(II),Cd(Ⅱ) and Ni(II).The two biosorbents reached the same maximum sorption capacity (q m = 0.8 mmol/g) for mercury.U.pinnatifida showed a greater affinity (given by the coefficient b of the Langmuir equation) for mercury compared to M.pyrifera (4.4 versus 2.7 L/mmol).Mercury uptake was significantly reduced (by more than 50%) in the presence of competitor heavy metals such as Zn(II),Cd(II) and Ni(Ⅱ).Samples analysis using an environmental scanning electron microscopy equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis showed that mercury was heterogeneously adsorbed on the surface of both biomaterials,while the other heavy metals were homogeneous distributed.The analysis of biosorbents by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry indicated that Hg(Ⅱ) binding occurred on S=O (sulfonate) and N-H (amine) functional groups.Josefina Plaza Marisa Viera Edgardo Donati Eric Guibal 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,11:3

15在经历 transcatheter 的病人的 atrial 纤维性颤动的临床、预示的含意大动脉的阀门培植显示文摘 AIM: To study a cohort of consecutive patients under-going transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and compare the outcomes of atrial fibrillation (AF) patients vs patients in sinus rhythm (SR). METHODS: All consecutive patients undergoing TAVI in our hospital were included. The AF group comprised patients in AF at the time of TAVI or with history of AF, and were compared with the SR group. Procedural, echocardiographic and follow-up variables were compared. Likewise, the CHA 2 DS 2-VASC stroke risk score and HAS-BLED bleeding risk score and antithrombotic treatment at discharge in AF patients were compared with that in SR patients. RESULTS: From a total of 34 patients undergoing TAVI, 17 (50%) were allocated to the AF group, of whom 15 (88%) were under chronic oral anticoagulation. Patients in the AF group were similar to those in the SR group except for a trend (P = 0.07) for a higher logistic EuroSCORE (28% vs 19%), and a higher prevalence of hypertension (82% vs 53%) and chronic renal failure (17% vs 0%). Risk of both stroke and bleeding was high in the AF group (mean CHA 2 DS 2-VASC 4.3, mean HAS-BLED 2.9). In the AF group, treatment at discharge included chronic oral anticoagulation in all except one case, and in association with an antiplatelet drug in 57% of patients. During a mean follow-up of 11 mo (maximum 32), there were only two strokes, none of them during the peri-procedural period: one in the AF group at 30 mo and one in the SR group at 3 mo. There were no statistical differences in procedural success, and clinical outcome (survival at 1 year 81% vs 74% in AF and SR groups, respectively, P = NS). CONCLUSION: Patients in AF undergoing TAVI show a trend to a higher surgical risk. 16Postoperative complications in gastrointestinal surgery: A “hidden” basic quality indicator显示文摘Postoperative complications represent a basic quality indicator for measuring outcomes at surgical units. At present, however, they are not systematically measured in all surgical procedures. A more accurate assessment of their impact could help to evaluate the real morbidity associated with different surgical interventions, establish measures for improvement, increase efficiency and identify benchmarking services. The Clavien-Dindo Classification is the most widely used system worldwide for assessing postoperative complications.However, the postoperative period is summarized by the most serious complication without taking into account others of lesser magnitude. Recently,two new scoring systems have emerged, the Comprehensive Complication Index and the Complication Severity Score, which include all postoperative complications and quantify them from 0(no complications) to 100(patient’s death), These allow the comparison of results. It is important to train surgical staff to report and classify complications and to record 90-d morbidity rates in all patients. Comparisons with other services must take into account patient comorbidities and the complexity of the particular surgical procedure. To avoid subjectivity and bias, external audits are necessary.
