| 1 | A review on synthesis of graphene,h-BN and MoS2 for energy storage applications:Recent progress and perspectives显示文摘The significance of graphene and its two-dimensional(2D)analogous inorganic layered materials especially as hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)and molybdenum disulphide(MoS2)for“clean energy”applications became apparent over the last few years due to their extraordinary properties.In this review article we study the current progress and selected challenges in the syntheses of graphene,h-BN and MoS2 including energy storage applications as supercapacitors and batteries.Various substrates/catalysts(metals/insulator/semiconducting)have been used to obtain graphene,h-BN and MoS2 using different kinds of precursors.The most widespread methods for synthesis of graphene,h-BN and MoS2 layers are chemical vapor deposition(CVD),plasma-enhanced CVD,hydro/solvothermal methods,liquid phase exfoliation,physical methods etc.Current research has shown that graphene,h-BN and MoS2 layered materials modified with metal oxide can have an insightful influence on the performance of energy storage devices as supercapacitors and batteries.This review article also contains the discussion on the opportunities and perspectives of these materials(graphene,h-BN and MoS2)in the energy storage fields.We expect that this witen review article including recent research on energy storage will help in generating new insights for further development and practical applications of graphene,h-BN and MoS2 layers based materials. | Rajesh Kumar Sumanta Sahoo Ednan Joanni Rajesh Kumar Singh Ram Manohar Yadav Rajiv Kumar Verma Dinesh Pratap Singh Wai Kian Tan Angel Perez del Pino Stanislav A.Moshkalev Atsunori Matsuda | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,11: | 12 |

| 3 | Laparoscopic approach in gastrointestinal emergencies显示文摘This review focuses on the laparoscopic approach to gastrointestinal emergencies and its more recent indications. Laparoscopic surgery has a specific place in elective procedures, but that does not apply in emergency situations. In specific emergencies, there is a huge range of indications and different techniques to apply, and not all of them are equally settle. We consider that the most controversial points in minimally invasive procedures are indications in emergency situations due to technical difficulties. Some pathologies, such as oesophageal emergencies, obstruction due to colon cancer, abdominal hernias or incarcerated postsurgical hernias, are nearly always resolved by conventional surgery, that is, an open approach due to limited intraabdominal cavity space or due to the vulnerability of the bowel. These technical problems have been solved in many diseases, such as for perforated peptic ulcer or acute appendectomy for which a laparoscopic approach has become a wellknown and globally supported procedure. On the other hand, endoscopic procedures have acquired further indications, relegating surgical solutions to a second place; this happens in cholangitis or pancreatic abscess drainage. This endoluminal approach avoids the need for laparoscopic development in these diseases. Nevertheless, new instruments and new technologies could extend the laparoscopic approach to a broader array of potentials procedures. | 7 | Long-term outcome of a moderately hypofractionated, intensity-modulated radiotherapy approach using an endorectal balloon for patients with localized prostate cancer显示文摘Background:Technical advances in radiotherapy delivery have simultaneously enabled dose escalation and enhanced bladder and rectal sparing.However,the optimal radiation fractionation regimen for localized prostate cancer is unclear.Laboratory and clinical evidence suggest that hypofractionation may improve the therapeutic ratio of radiotherapy.We report our institutional outcomes using moderately hypofractionated,intensity-modulated radio-therapy(IMRT),and an endorectal balloon,with emphasis on long-term biochemical control and treatment-related adverse events in patients with localized prostate cancer.Methods:Between January 1997 and April 2004,596 patients with cT1-T3 prostate cancer underwent IMRT using a moderate hypofractionation regimen(76.70 Gy at 2.19 Gy/fraction)with an endorectal balloon.Using D’Amico clas-sification,226(37.9%),264(44.3%),and 106(17.8%)patients had low-,intermediate-,or high-risk disease,respectively.The majority of intermediate-and high-risk patients received androgen deprivation therapy.Biochemical relapse-free survival(bRFS)was evaluated using 2005 Phoenix criteria and estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method.Results:The median follow-up was 62 months.Overall 5-and 10-year bRFS rates were 92.7%and 87.7%.For low-,intermediate-,and high-risk patients,the 5-year bRFS rates were 96.9%,93.3%,and 82.0%,respectively;the 10-year bRFS rates were 91.4%,89.3%,and 76.2%,respectively.Prostate-specific antigen,Gleason score,and T stage were significant predictors of bRFS(all P<0.01).The 5-year rates of severe(≥Grade 3)adverse events were very low:1.2%for gastrointestinal events and 1.1%for genitourinary events.Conclusions:Long-term outcomes after moderately hypofractionated IMRT are encouraging.Moderate hypofrac-tionation represents a safe,efficacious,alternative regimen in the treatment of localized prostate cancer. | Bin S.Teh Gary D.Lewis Weiyuan Mai Ramiro Pino Hiromichi Ishiyama Edward Brian Butler | 2018 | Cancer Communications2018,38,1: | 4 |
| 8 | Performance assessment of two-dimensional hydraulic models for generation of flood inundation maps in mountain river basins显示文摘Hydraulic models for the generation of flood inundation maps are not commonly applied in mountain river basins because of the difficulty in modeling the hydraulic behavior and the complex topography. This paper presents a comparative analysis of the performance of four twodimensional hydraulic models (HEC-RAS 2D, Iber 2D, Flood Modeller 2D, and PCSWMM 2D) with respect to the generation of flood inundation maps. The study area covers a 5-km reach of the Santa B-arbara River located in the Ecuadorian Andes, at 2330 masl, in Gualaceo. The model's performance was evaluated based on the water surface elevation and flood extent, in terms of the mean absolute difference and measure of fit. The analysis revealed that, for a given case, Iber 2D has the best performance in simulating the water level and inundation for flood events with 20- and 50-year return periods, respectively, followed by Flood Modeller 2D, HEC-RAS 2D, and PCSWMM 2D in terms of their performance. | 11 | Update on pre-diabetes: Focus on diagnostic criteria and cardiovascular risk显示文摘Pre-diabetes, which is typically defined as blood glucose concentrations higher than normal but lower than thediabetes threshold, is a high-risk state for diabetes and cardiovascular disease development. As such, it represents three groups of individuals: Those with impaired fasting glucose(IFG), those with impaired glucose tolerance(IGT) and those with a glycated haemoglobin(HbA1c) between 39-46 mmol/mol. Several clinical trials have shown the important role of IFG, IGT and HbA1c -pre-diabetes as predictive tools for the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Moreover, with regard to cardiovascular disease, pre-diabetes is associated with more advanced vascular damage compared with normoglycaemia, independently of confounding factors. In view of these observations, diagnosis of pre-diabetes is mandatory to prevent or delay the development of the disease and its complications; however, a number of previous studies reported that the concordance between pre-diabetes diagnoses made by IFG, IGT or HbA1c is scarce and there are conflicting data as to which of these methods best predicts cardiovascular disease. This review highlights recent studies and cur-rent controversies in the field. In consideration of the expected increased use of HbA1c as a screening tool to identify individuals with alteration of glycaemic homeo-stasis, we focused on the evidence regarding the ability of HbA1c as a diagnostic tool for pre-diabetes and as a useful marker in identifying patients who have an increased risk for cardiovascular disease.
