1Analysis of the Cross-Wedge Rolling Process of Toothed Shafts Made from 2618 Aluminium Alloy显示文摘The paper presents the results of a thermo-mechanical analysis of the rolling two stepped shafts.One of the shafts has a toothed step with skew teeth,while the other has a worm winding in the shape of a trapezoidal screw.The shape of the rolling tools resembles that of the tools used in the Roto-Flo rolling method;yet unlike in Roto-Flo,the shafts are hot-rolled and no centres are used to stabilize the position of the workpiece during the forming process.For the calculations made with use of the DEFORM-3D process simulation system it has been assumed that the rolled shafts are made from 2618 aluminium alloy.As a result of the calculations made,it has been found that the toothed stepped shafts can be formed in one pass by means of the cross rolling process.Additionally,the temperature and strain distribution in the rolled product have been determined as well as some data concerning the forces which are necessary for the rolling process have been obtained.PATER Zbigniew GONTARZ Andrzej TOFIL Arkadiusz 2011Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong university(Science)2011,16,2:14
2Cross-Wedge Rolling of Shafts With an Eccentric Step显示文摘A new concept for forming eccentric shafts on the basis of the cross-wedge rolling(CWR)process was presented.This concept was based on the application of special guides,which,by acting on a billet,lead to its controlled movement in the vertical direction.This movement made possible eccentric cutting of tools into the billet.FEM calculations and experimental rolling tests clearly confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed forming method.Zbigniew Pater 2011Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2011,18,6:3
3Numerical Analysis of Unconventional Forging Process of Hollowed Shaft from Ti-6Al-4V Alloy显示文摘This paper presents theoretical analysis of unconventional forging process of hollowed shaft from Ti-6Al-4V alloy in a three-slide forging press.This method in comparison with other metal forming methods allows for obtaining of hollowed products.The designed process is verified theoretically by means of numerical simulations based on finite element method with assumption of 3D state of strain.The following factors are considered in the analysis:material flow kinematics,strain distribution,temperature distribution and force of process.On the basis of results,it is stated that the application of designed technology allows for obtaining of a product of assumed quality.A comparison is made between material consumption in analyzed process and material consumption in typical metal forming methods,also in used at present technology of shaft manufacturing by machining only.It is stated that the application of forging in the three-slide forging press allows for a considerable decrease of manufacturing costs due to material savings and decrease of labor consumption of operations at finishing.GONTARZ Andrzej PATER Zbigniew TOFIL Arkadiusz 2011Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong university(Science)2011,16,2:1
4Cavity formation in cross-wedge rolling processes显示文摘The problem of end-face cavity formation in parts produced by cross-wedge rolling was studied in order to reduce material consumption.The cavity depth was measured by the displacemern method.Twenty-one different cases of rolling were analysed by finile element method to determine the effects of process parameters such as the wedge tool angle,the temperature of material,the tool velocity and the reduction ratio on the depth of end-face cavities.Relationships between these parameters are examined in order to establish depe ndencies enabling quick and simple selection of a con cavity allowance in order to remove the cavities.The equations for calculating the con cavity allowance were verified in an experimental process for manufacturing ball pins with the use of flat tools.Rolling tests were performed using a billet with its length selected in compliance with the established dependencies.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed solution is a viable method for end-face cavity removal.Zbigniew Pater Janusz Tomczak Tomasz Bulzak 2019Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2019,26,1:1
5Multi-Wedge Cross Rolling of Balls显示文摘The multi-wedge cross rolling process of forming balls is described.The process tool for rolling 8 balls with a diameter of 35 mm is presented.The course of the rolling process,distributions of forming forces as well as maps of effective strain and temperature in the obtained balls are presented by finite element modeling (FEM).Experimental tests of simultaneous forming of 4 balls with a diameter of 22 mm conducted in laboratory conditions at Lublin University of Technology have proved that the balls obtained in multi-wedge cross rolling are of good quality and can therefore be used in both ball mills and rolling bearings.Zbigniew Pater 2013Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2013,20,10:1
6Recent advances and trends in roll bonding process and bonding model:A review显示文摘This review presents a thorough survey of the roll bonding process with a focus on the bimetallic bars/tubes as well as the bonding models and criteria.The review aims to provide insight into cold,hot and cryogenic bonding mechanisms at the micro and atomic scale and act as a guide for researchers working on roll bonding,other joining processes and bonding simulation.Mean-while,the shortcomings of roll bonding processes are presented from the aspect of formable shapes,while bonding models are shown from the aspect of calculation time,convergence,interface behav-ior of dissimilar materials as well as hot bonding status prediction.Two well-accepted numerical methodologies of bonding models,namely the contact algorithm and cohesive zone model(CZM)of bonding models and in simulations of the bonding process are highlighted.Particularly,recent advances and trends in the application of the combination of mechanical interlocking and metallurgical bonding,special energy fields,gradient structure,novel materials,green technology and soft computing method in the roll bonding process are also discussed.The challenges for advancing and prospects of the roll bonding process and bonding model are presented in an attempt to shed some light on the future research direction.Zixuan LI Shahed REZAEI Tao WANG Jianchao HAN Xuedao SHU Zbigniew PATER Qingxue HUANG 2023Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,4:0
