1NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF FORGING AND SUBSEQUENT HEAT TREATMENT OF A ROD BY A FINITE VOLUME METHOD显示文摘A method to simulate processes of forging and subsequent heat treatment of an axial symmetric rod is formulated in eulerian description and the feasibility is investigated. This method uses finite volume mushes for troching material deformation and an automatically refined facet surface to accurately trace the free surface of the deforming material.In the method,the deforming work piece flows through fixed finite volume meshes using eulerian formulation to describe the conservation laws,Fixed finite volume meshing is particularly suitable for large three-dimensional deformation such as forging because remeshing techniques are not required, which are commonly considered to be the main bottelencek in the ssimulations of large defromation by using the finite element method,By means of this finite volume method, an approach has been developed in the framework of 'metallo-thermo-mechanics' to simulate metallic structure, temperature and stress/strain coupled in the heat treatment process.In a first step of simulation, the heat treatment solver is limited in small deformation hypothesis,and un- coupled with forging. The material is considered as elastic-plastic and takes into account of strain, strain rate and temperature effects on the yield stress.Heat generation due to deformation,heat con- duction and thermal stress are considered.Temperature - dependent phase transformation,stress-in- duced phase transformation,latent heat,transformation stress and strain are included.These ap- proaches are implemented into the commerical commercial computer program MSC/SuperForge and a verification example with experimental date is given as comparison.P. 2INTERFACIAL STRUCTURE AND PHASE REACTION IN SiC/NiCr ALLOY JOINT显示文摘Bonding of SiC to SiC using Ni and Ni - 25at%Cr foils was performed at high temperature.Interface structures and reaction phases were investigated by EPMA analyses and XRD diffraction method, re- spectively. At a bonding temperature of 1273K Ni reacts with SiC and forms various Ni silicides con- taining graphite baside SiC. Ni3Si without graphite was formed at Ni side.The interface structure of SiC/Ni joint was SiC/Ni2Si + C/Ni31 Si12 + G/Ni3 Si/Ni. At the interface between SiC and Ni- 25at%Cr alloy the Ni silicide was only Ni2Si at the same bonding temperature,and further(Cr, Ni)7 (Si, C)3 carbide was formed between Ni silicide + graphite zone and Ni - 25at%Cr alloy.The interface structure of SiC/Ni - 25at%Cr alloy was SiC/Ni2Si + C/(Cr, Ni)7 (Si, C)3+Ni(ss. 3CONSTRUCTION OF A GENOMIC DNA LIBRARY WITH ATA VECTOR AND ITS APPLICATION IN CLONING OF THE PHYTOENE SYNTHASE GENE FROM THE CYANOBACTERIUM SPIRULINA PLATENSIS M-135显示文摘An efficient and simple method for constructing a genomic DNA library using a TAcloning vector is presented. It is based on the sonicative cleavage of genomic DNA and modification offragment ends with Taq DNA polymerase, followed by ligation using a TA vector. This method was ap-plied for cloning of the phytoene synthase gene crtB from Spirulina platensis. 4PROBABILISTIC MODELING OF BRITTLE FRACTURE WITH PRIOR DUCTILE CRACK EXTENSION显示文摘A computation framework for brittle fracture which incorporates weakest link statistics and a microme- chanics model reflecting reflecting local damage of the material is described.The Weibull stress W emerges as a probabilistic fracture parameter to define the condition leading material failure. Unstable crack propa- gation occurs at a critical value of W which may be attained paior to or following some amount of duc- tile crack extension. A realistic model of ductile crack growth using the computation cell methodology is used to define the evolution of near tip stress fields during crack extension. An application of proposed framework to predict the measured geometry and ductile tearing effects on the statistical distributio of fracture toughness for the pipe line steel welded joint is described.H. 5Density of Liquid Ni-Cr Alloy显示文摘The density of liquid Ni-Cr alloy was measured by a modified sessile drop method. The density of liquid Ni-Cr alloywas found to decrease with increasing temperature and Cr concentration in the alloy. The molar volume of liquidNi-Cr alloy increases with increasing the Cr concentration in the alloy. 8Transformation Plasticity─The Effect on Metallo-Thermo-Mechanical Simulation of Carburized Quenching Process显示文摘Theory of metallo-thermo-mechamics and the developed CAE code offer a powerful tool to simulate residual stresses and distortion during heat treatment processes, in which the transformation plasticity is one of factors to be considered being coupled with stress/strain and metallic structure. It is pointed out in this paper that, especially in the case of carburized quenching, transformation plasticity plays very important role on the distortion, which is verified by axisymmetric finite element, employing heat treatment simulation code 'HEARTS'. Simulated results with the careful consideration on the effect of transformation plasticity reveal to improve remarkably the accuracy of prediction of the displacement and the mode of distortion, compensating the discrepancy between experimental and calculated results. Attention is also paid on the difference in transformation plasticity and conventional plasticity in simulating the volume fraction, stress and strain in ring-shaped specimen during quenching. 9Evaluation of the sperm DNA fragmentation index in infertile Japanese men by in-house flow cytometric analysis显示文摘Semen analysis has long been used to evaluate male fertility.Recently,several sperm function tests have been developed.Of those,the sperm DNA fragmentation index(DFI),which describes the status of the sperm DNA,is thought to be a suitable parameter for evaluating male fertility.However,there have been no large-scale studies on the sperm DFI of Japanese men.Therefore,we investigated the feasibility of using an in-house flow cytometry-based sperm DFI analysis based on the sperm DNA fragmentation test of sperm chromatin structure assay(SCSA)to assess male fertility in Japan.This study enrolled 743 infertile and 20 fertile Japanese men.To evaluate reproducibility,inter-and intraobserver precision was analyzed.A receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was used to set a cutoff value for the sperm DFI to identify men who could father children by timed intercourse or intrauterine insemination.The variability of the sperm DFI among fertile volunteers was determined.The relationship between semen parameters and the sperm DFI was assessed by Spearman’s rho test.A precision analysis revealed good reproducibility of the sperm DFI.The cutoff value of sperm DNA fragmentation in infertile men was 24.0%.Semen volume had no relationship with the sperm DFI.Sperm concentration,sperm motility,total motile sperm count,and percentage of normal-shaped sperm were significantly and negatively correlated with the sperm DFI.The median sperm DFI was smaller in fertile volunteers(7.7%)than that in infertile men(19.4%).Sperm DNA fragmentation analysis can be used to assess sperm functions that cannot be evaluated by ordinary semen analysis.Akiyoshi Osaka Hiroshi Okada Sae Onozuka Takashi Tanaka Toshiyuki Iwahata Yukihito Shimomura Yoshitomo Kobori Kazutaka Saito Kouhei Sugimoto 2022Asian Journal of Andrology2022,24,1:2
10Ag7(MBISA)6 Nanoclusters Conjugated with Quinacrine for FRET-Enhanced Photodynamic Activity under Visible Light Irradiation显示文摘Singlet oxygen(1 O2) plays an important role in various applications, such as in the photodynamic therapy(PDT) of cancers,photodynamic inactivation of microorganisms, photo-degradation of toxic compounds, and photo-oxidation in synthetic chemistry. Recently,water-soluble metal nanoclusters(NCs) have been utilized as photosensitizers for the generation of highly reactive 1 O2 because of their high water solubility, low toxicity, and surface functionalizability for targeted substances. In the case of metal NC-based photosensitizers, the photo-physical properties depend on the core size of the NCs and the core/ligand interfacial structures. A wide range of atomically precise gold NCs have been reported; however, reports on the synthesis of atomically precise silver NCs are limited due to the high reactivity and low photostability(i.e., easy oxidation) of Ag NCs. In addition, there have been few reports on what kinds of metal NCs can generate large amounts of 1 O2. In this study, we developed a new one-pot synthesis method of water-soluble Ag7(MBISA)6(MBISA= 2-mercapto-5-benzimidazolesulfonic acid sodium salt) NCs with highly efficient 1 O2 generation ability under the irradiation of white light emitting diodes(LEDs). The molecular formula and purity were determined by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and gel electrophoresis. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on atomically precise thiolate silver clusters(Agn(SR)m) for efficient 1 O2 generation under visible light irradiation. The 1 O2 generation efficiency of Ag7(MBISA)6 NCs was higher than those of the following known water-soluble metal NCs: bovine serum albumin(BSA)-Au25 NCs,BSA-Ag8 NCs, BSA-Ag14 NCs,Ag25(dihydrolipoic acid)14 NCs,Ag35(glutathione)18 NCs,and Ag75(glutathione)40 NCs. The metal NCs examined in this study showed the following order of 1 O2 generation efficiency under white light irradiation: Ag7(MBISA)6 > BSA-Ag14 > Ag75(SG)40 > Ag35(SG)18 >BSA-Au25 >>BSA-Ags(not detected) and Ag2 s(DHLA)14(not detected). For further improving the 1 O2 generation of Ag7(MBISA)6 NCs, we developed a novel fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET) system by conjugating Ag7(MBISA)6 NCs with quinacrine(QC)(molar ratio of Ag NCs to QC is 1 : 0.5). We observed the FRET process,from QC to Ag7(MBISA)6 NCs,occurring in the conjugate. That is,the QC works as a donor chromophore,while the Ag NCs work as an acceptor chromophore in the FRET process. The FRET-mediated process caused a 2.3-fold increase in 1 O2 generation compared to that obtained with Ag7(MBISA)6 NCs alone. 11NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR DURING LOCAL POSTWELD HEAT TREATMENT显示文摘Local postweld heat treatment (PWHT)is usually performed when it is impractical to heat treat the whole vessel in a furnace, Many factors have an influence on PWHT procedures, such as size of the pipe,heated widths, insulation conditions, heating rates soak temperatures and hold times, material composition etc,. However up to now the influences these factors have on PWHT are not very clearly understood and different criteria for sizing the parameters can be found in different codes. This study provides a direct method to assess the effectiveness of local PWHT.An axisymmetrical model was used based on the thermal-visco-elastic-plastic Finite Element Method with the consideration of creep phenomena. By using this method both temperature and stress distributions can be simulated during whole local PWHT history. The computation results of temperature distributions and the strain histaries during local PWHT are compared with the experiments, and good agreements are obtained, Investigations show that the thermal stresses induced by local PWHT are much affected by creep behavior and the changes of Young’s Modulus. The study of stress relief history shows that the stresses decrease quickly in the heating stage, then decrease slowly according to creep law in the hold stage and then studdenly increase when the cooling stage starts. The study shows the possibility that through a series of computations the effects of many factors can be assessed and the optimum parnmeters can be found. Compared with the heated widths based apon some applicable codes, it is found that a heated area of 2.5 on either side of the weld seems more reasonable.J,H, Wang, H. Lu and H.
