3Differential expression of interleukin-1/Toll-like receptor signaling regulators in microscopic and ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM:To investigate Toll-like receptor(TLR)signaling regulators in microscopic and ulcerative colitis patients.METHODS:Total RNA and microRNA were isolated from fresh frozen colonic biopsies of non-inflamed controls and patients with active or in-remission collagenous colitis(CC),lymphocytic colitis(LC),or ulcerative colitis(UC).We compared expressions of interleukin-1receptor-associated kinase(IRAK)-2,IRAK-M,interleukin(IL)-37,microRNA(miR)-146a,miR-155,and miR-21 using quantitative real time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.RESULTS:IRAK-M expression was increased in LC patients with active disease in histopathological remission(LC-HR;P=0.02)and UC patients(P=0.01),but no differences in IRAK-2 expression were detected compared to controls.miR-146a,-155 and-21 expressions were increased in LC-HR(P=0.04,0.07,and 0.004)and UC(P=0.02,0.04 and 0.03)patients.miR-146a and miR-21 expressions were significantly enhanced in UC patients compared to UC remission(UC-R;P=0.01and 0.04).Likewise,active CC patients showed significantly increased expression of miR-155(P=0.003)and miR-21(P=0.006).IL-37 expression was decreased in both CC(P=0.03)and LC(P=0.04)patients with a similar trend in UC patients but not statistically significant,whilst it was increased in UC-R patients compared to controls(P=0.02)and active UC(P=0.001).CONCLUSION:The identification of differentially expressed miRNAs,IL-37,and IRAK-M suggests different pathophysiologic mechanisms in various disease stages in LC,CC,and UC.Sezin Gunaltay Nils Nyhlin Ashok Kumar Kumawat Curt Tysk Johan Bohr Olof Hultgren Elisabeth Hultgren Hornquist 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,34:11
4Artificial root exudates and soil organic carbon mineralization in a degraded sandy grassland in northern China显示文摘Plant root exudates contain various organic and inorganic components that include glucose, citric and oxalic acid. These components affect rhizosphere microbial and microfaunal activities, but the mechanisms are not fully known. Studies concerned from degraded grassland ecosystems with low soil carbon(C) contents are rare, in spite of the global distribution of grasslands in need of restoration. All these have a high potential for carbon sequestration, with a reduced carbon content due to overutilization. An exudate component that rapidly decomposes will increase soil respiration and CO2 emission, while a component that reduces decomposition of native soil carbon can reduce CO2 emission and actually help sequestering carbon in soil. Therefore, to investigate root exudate effects on rhizosphere activity, citric acid, glucose and oxalic acid(0.6 g C/kg dry soil) were added to soils from three biotopes(grassland, fixed dune and mobile dune) located in Naiman, Horqin Sandy Land, Inner Mongolia, China) and subjected to a 24-day incubation experiment together with a control. The soils were also analyzed for general soil properties. The results show that total respiration without exudate addition was highest in grassland soil, intermediate in fixed dune and lowest in mobile dune soil. However, the proportion of native soil carbon mineralized was highest in mobile dune soil, reflecting the low C/N ratio found there. The exudate effects on CO2-C emissions and other variables differed somewhat between biotopes, but total respiration(including that from the added substrates) was significantly increased in all combinations compared with the control, except for oxalic acid addition to mobile dune soil, which reduced CO2-C emissions from native soil carbon. A small but statistically significant increase in pH by the exudate additions in grassland and fixed dune soil was observed, but there was a major decrease from acid additions to mobile dune soil. In contrast, electrical conductivity decreased in grassland and fixed dune soil and increased in mobile dune. Thus, discrete components of root exudates affected soil environmental conditions differently, and responses to root exudates in soils with low carbon contents can differ from those in normal soils. 7Influence of confining prestress on the transition from interface defeat topenetration in ceramic targets显示文摘Replica scaled impact experiments with unconfined ceramic targets have shown that the transition velocity,i.e.,the impact velocity at which interface defeat ceases and ceramic penetration occurs,decreased as the length scale increased.A possible explanation of how this scale effect is related to the formation of a cone crack in the ceramic has been presented by the authors in an earlier paper.Here,the influence of confinement and prestress on cone cracking and transition velocity is investigated.The hypothesis is that prestress will suppress the formation and growth of the cone crack by lowering the driving stress.A set of impact experiments has been performed in which the transition velocity for four different levels of prestress has been determined.The transition velocities as a function of the level of confining prestress is compared to an analytical model for the influence of prestress on the formation and extension of the cone crack in the ceramic material.Both experiments and model indicate that prestress has a strong influence on the transition from interface defeat to penetration,although the model underestimates the influence of prestress.Patrik LUNDBERG RenéRENSTROM Olof ANDERSSON 2016Defence Technology(防务技术)2016,12,3:4
8Variability of platelet aggregation in patients with clopidogrel treatment and hip fracture: A retrospective case-control study on 112 patients显示文摘AIM: To identify the rate of non-responders to clopidogrel treatment in hip fracture patients and study how non-responders differ from controls.METHODS: In a retrospective case-control study we included 28 cases of acute proximal femoral fracture with clopidogrel treatment 2011 to 2013. Eighty-four controls from the same time period were included. Data collected included response to clopidogrel measured with multiple electrode aggregometry(MEA), intraoperative bleeding, erythrocyte transfusion, time to surgery and the incidence of adverse events up to 3 mo after surgery. RESULTS: Eight(29%) of the 28 cases were nonresponders. The median intraoperative bleeding was 300 mL(range, 0-1500), and was lower for non-responders(50 m L) but did not reach statistical significance. Erythrocyte transfusions did not differ between responders, non-responders and controls.
