2Pine wilt disease: a short review of worldwide research显示文摘This article summarizes the results of the research papers presented at the International Symposium on pine wilt disease (IUFRO Working Party Meeting 4.04.03) held in July 2009, at Nanjing, China. The general topics covered were on pine wilt disease (PWD), its causal organism, the pinewood nematode (PWN) Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, plus other PWN-associated microorganisms that play a significant role in PWD such as bacteria (e.g. Pseudomonas fluorescens). Most of the papers that are reviewed are based on work on PWD-PWN in East Asia and Russia. Specific topics covered include: 1) the fundamental conceptions of PWD development, 2) pathogenicity, 3) host-parasite relationships including the histopathology of diseased conifers and the role of toxins from bacteria-nematode ecto-symbionts, 4) PWN life cycle and transmission, 5) B. xylophilus dissemination models, 6) associations (with other nematodes), 7) diagnostics, 8) quarantine and control of the PWN and 9) biocontrol of the PWN.Alexander Yu. 3Ischemic preconditioning-induced hyperperfusion correlates with hepatoprotection after liver resection显示文摘AIM:To characterize the impact of the Pringle ma-neuver (PM) and ischemic preconditioning (IP) on total blood supply to the liver following hepatectomies. METHODS: Sixty one consecutive patients who un-derwent hepatic resection under in flow occlusion were randomized either to receive PM alone (n = 31) or IP (10 min of ischemia followed by 10 min of reperfusion) prior to PM (n = 30). Quantification of liver perfusion was measured by Doppler probes at the hepatic artery and portal vein at various time points after reperfusion of remnant livers. RESULTS: Occlusion times of 33 ± 12 min (mean ± SD) and 34 ± 14 min and the extent of resected liver tissue (2.7 segments) were similar in both groups. In controls (PM), on reperfusion of liver remnants for 15 min, portal perfusion markedly decreased by 29% while there was a slight increase of 8% in the arterial blood flow. In contrast, following IP + PM the portal vein flow remained unchanged during reperfusion and a significantly increased arterial blood flow (+56% vs baseline) was observed. In accordance with a better postischemic blood supply of the liver, hepatocellular injury, as measured by alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels on day 1 was considerably lower in group B compared to group A (247 ± 210 U/I vs 550 ± 650 U/I, P < 0.05). 5Carbon emission scenarios of China's power sector:Impact of controlling measures and carbon pricing mechanism显示文摘The study constructs a low-carbon path analysis model of China's power sector based on TIMES model and presents a comparative analysis of carbon emissions under Reference,Low-Carbon and Enhanced Low-Carbon scenarios,and the main difference of the three scenarios is manifested by policy selection and policy strength.The conclusions are drawn as follows:(1)The peak of carbon emission in China's power sector will range from 4.0 GtCO2 to 4.8 GtCO2,which implies an increment of 0.5e1.3 billion or 14%e35%from the 2015 levels.(2)Introducing carbon price is an effective way to inhibit coal power and promote non-fossil fuels and Carbon Capture,Utilization and Storage applications(CCUS).The carbon emission reduction effects will gradually increase with carbon price.When the carbon price attains to CN¥150 t1CO2,the CO2 emission can decrease by 36%than that without carbon price.(3)CCUS is one of important contributing factor to reduce CO2 emission in power sector.Generally speaking,the development of non-fossil fuels and energy efficiency improvement are two main drivers for carbon mitigation,but once the carbon price reaches up to CN¥106 t 1CO2,the CCUS will be required to equip with thermal power units and its contribution on carbon emission reduction will remarkably increase.When carbon price increases to CN¥150 t1CO2 in 2050,the application of CCUS will account for 44%of total emission reduction.(4)In the scenario with carbon price of CN¥150 t1CO2,power sector would be decarbonized significantly,and the CO2 intensity will be 0.22 kgCO2(kW h)1,but power sector is far from the goal that achieving net zero emission.In order to realize the long-term low greenhouse gas emission development goal that proposed by the Paris Agreement,more efforts are needed to be put to further reduce the carbon emission reduction of power sector.Based on the above scenario analysis,the study proposes four recommendations on the low-carbon development of China's power sector:(1)improve the energy efficiency proactively and optimize the energy structure of power sector gradually;(2)promote the low-carbon transition of power sector by using market-based mechanism like carbon emission trading scheme to internalize the external cost of carbon emission;(3)give more emphasis on and support to the CCUS application in power sector.LIU Qiang ZHENG Xiao-Qi ZHAO Xu-Chen CHEN Yi Oleg LUGOVOY 2018Advances in Climate Change Research2018,9,1:11
6HIGH-ORDER WENO SIMULATIONS OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL RESHOCKED RICHTMYER-MESHKOV INSTABILITY TO LATE TIMES:DYNAMICS,DEPENDENCE ON INITIAL CONDITIONS,AND COMPARISONS TO EXPERIMENTAL DATA显示文摘The dynamics of the reshocked multi-mode Richtmyer-Meshkov instability is investigated using 513×257 2three-dimensional ninth-order weighted essentially nonoscillatory shock-capturing simulations.A two-mode initial perturbation with superposed random noise is used to model the Mach 1.5 air/SF6 Vetter-Sturtevant shock tube experiment. The mass fraction and enstrophy isosurfaces,and density cross-sections are utilized to show the detailed flow structure before,during,and after reshock.It is shown that the mixing layer growth agrees well with the experimentally measured growth rate before and after reshock.The post-reshock growth rate is also in good agreement with the prediction of the Mikaelian model.A parametric study of the sensitivity of the layer growth to the choice of amplitudes of the short and long wavelength initial interfacial perturbation is also presented.Finally,the amplification effects of reshock are quantified using the evolution of the turbulent kinetic energy and turbulent enstrophy spectra,as well as the evolution of the baroclinic enstrophy production,buoyancy production,and shear production terms in the enstrophy and turbulent kinetic transport equations.Oleg Schilling Marco Latini 2010Acta Mathematica Scientia2010,30,2:9
7Co-controlling CO2 and NOx emission in China's cement industry:An optimal development pathway study显示文摘It is of important practical significance to reduce NOx emission and CO2 emission in China's cement industry.This paper firstly identifies key factors that influence China's future cement demand,and then uses the Gompertz model to project China's future cement demand and production.Furthermore,the multi-pollutant abatement planning model(MAP)was developed based on the TIMES model to analyze the co-benefits of CO2 and NOx control in China's cement industry.During modeling analysis,three scenarios such as basic as usual scenario(BAU),moderately low carbon scenario(MLC),and radically low carbon scenario(RLC),were built according to different policy constraints and emission control goals.Moreover,the benefits of co-controlling NOx and CO2 emission in China's cement industry have been estimated.Finally,this paper proposes a cost-efficient,green,and low carbon development roadmap for the Chinese cement sector,and puts forwards countermeasures as follows:first,different ministries should enhance communication and coordination about how to promote the co-control of NOx and CO2 in cement industry.Second,co-control technology list should be issued timely for cement industry,and the R&D investment on new technologies and demonstration projects should be increased.Third,the phase-out of old cement capacity needs to be continued at policy level.Fourth,it is important to scientifically evaluate the relevant environmental impact and adverse motivation of ammonia production by NOx removal requirement in cement industry.FENG Xiang-Zhao Oleg LUGOVOY QIN Hu 2018Advances in Climate Change Research2018,9,1:9
8Antibiotics,gut microbiota,and irritable bowel syndrome:What are the relations?显示文摘Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)is a functional gastrointestinal disorder in which recurrent abdominal pain is associated with defecation or a change in bowel habits(constipation,diarrhea,or both),and it is often accompanied by symptoms of abdominal bloating and distension.IBS is an important health care issue because it negatively affects the quality of life of patients and places a considerable financial burden on health care systems.Despite extensive research,the etiology and underlying pathophysiology of IBS remain incompletely understood.Proposed mechanisms involved in its pathogenesis include increased intestinal permeability,changes in the immune system,visceral hypersensitivity,impaired gut motility,and emotional disorders.Recently,accumulating evidence has highlighted the important role of the gut microbiota in the development of IBS.Microbial dysbiosis within the gut is thought to contribute to all aspects of its multifactorial pathogenesis.The last few decades have also seen an increasing interest in the impact of antibiotics on the gut microbiota.Moreover,antibiotics have been suggested to play a role in the development of IBS.Extensive research has established that antibacterial therapy induces remarkable shifts in the bacterial community composition that are quite similar to those observed in IBS.This suggestion is further supported by data from cohort and case-control studies,indicating that antibiotic treatment is associated with an increased risk of IBS.This paper summarizes the main findings on this issue and contributes to a deeper understanding of the link between antibiotic use and the development of IBS.Zarina Mamieva Elena Poluektova Valery Svistushkin Vasily Sobolev Oleg Shifrin Francisco Guarner Vladimir Ivashkin 2022World Journal of Gastroenterology2022,28,12:8

18Eye movement prediction by oculomotor plant Kalman filter with brainstem control显示文摘Our work addresses one of the core issues related to Human Computer Interaction (HCI) systems that use eye gaze as an input. This issue is the sensor, transmission and other delays that exist in any eye tracker-based system, reducing its performance. A delay effect can be compensated by an accurate prediction of the eye movement trajectories. This paper introduces a mathematical model of the human eye that uses anatomical properties of the Human Visual System to predict eye movement trajectories. The eye mathematical model is transformed into a Kalman filter form to provide continuous eye position signal prediction during all eye movement types. The model presented in this paper uses brainstem control properties employed during transitions between fast (saccade) and slow (fixations, pursuit) eye movements. Results presented in this paper indicate that the proposed eye model in a Kalman filter form improves the accuracy of eye movement prediction and is capable of a real-time performance. 19Argo floats revealing bimodality of large-scale mid-depth circulation in the North Atlantic显示文摘Analysis of Argo float trajectories at 1 000 m and temperature at 950 m in the North Atlantic between November 2003 and January 2005 demonstrates the existence of two different circulation modes with fast transition between them. Each mode has a pair of cyclonic-anticyclonic gyres. The difference is the location of the cyclonic gyre. The cyclonic gyre stretches from southeast to northwest in the first mode and from the southwest to the northeast in the second mode. The observed modes strongly affect the heat and salt transport in the North Atlantic.
