Maternal genetic history of ancient Tibetans over the past 4000 years显示文摘The settlement of the Tibetan Plateau epitomizes human adaptation to a high-altitude environment that poses great challenges to human activity. Here,we reconstruct a 4000-year maternal genetic history of Tibetans using 128 ancient mitochondrial genome data from 37 sites in Tibet. The phylogeny of haplotypes M9a1a,M9a1b,D4g2,G2a’c,and D4i show that ancient Tibetans share the most recent common ancestor with ancient Middle and Upper Yellow River populations around the Early and Middle Holocene. In addition, the connections between Tibetans and Northeastern Asians vary over the past 4000 years, with a stronger matrilineal connection between the two during 4000 BPe3000 BP,and a weakened connection after 3000 BP,that are coincident with climate change, followed by a reinforced connection after the Tubo period(1400 BPe1100 BP).Besides,an over 4000-year matrilineal continuity is observed in some of the maternal lineages. We also find the maternal genetic structure of ancient Tibetans is correlated to the geography and interactions between ancient Tibetans and ancient Nepal and Pakistan populations.Overall, the maternal genetic history of Tibetans can be characterized as a long-term matrilineal continuity with frequent internal and external population interactions that are dynamically shaped by geography, climate changes,as well as historical events.Ganyu Zhang Can Cui Shargan Wangdue Hongliang Lu Honghai Chen Lin Xi Wei He Haibing Yuan Tinley Tsring Zujun Chen Feng Yang Tashi Tsering Shuai Li Norbu Tashi Tsho Yang Yan Tong Xiaohong Wu Linhui Li Yuanhong He Peng Cao Qingyan Dai Feng Liu Xiaotian Feng Tianyi Wang Ruowei Yang Wanjing Ping Ming Zhang Xing Gao Yichen Liu Wenjun Wang Qiaomei Fu 2023Journal of Genetics and Genomics2023,50,10:1
寻找“卓玛”显示文摘'Your name is like a flower,Drolma lha most fair.Your smile is like a flower,Drolma lha most fair.'This widely popular song(named Drolma)serves as people’s praise of Tibetan women’s stunning physical appearances and high-quality attributes.Women themselves are commonly called Drolmas, with some even bearing Drolma in their names.Indeed, the picturesque ideal of what it means to be a Drolma is already becoming deeply rooted in the hearts of Chinese near and far.Norbu Tsering Wang Qinou Sun Ruibo(图) 2021China's Tibet2021,32,4:0
LOOKING FOR'DROMA'Seventy years of Tibetan stories behind“Droma”显示文摘“ou have the name of a flower, beautiful Droma La.You have the smile of a flower, beautiful Droma La.”These lines are from Droma,a popular Tibetan song celebrating the beauty of Tibetan women. In Tibet, women are often referred to as“Droma,”and many use it as a given name. The word“Droma”has become iconic. But who are Dromas? What are Dromas like? What forces shape them?We trekked across the vast Tibetan plateau in search of Dromas and found profound stories against a backdrop of changing times.Norbu Tsering Wang Qin’ou 2021China Report ASEAN2021,6,6:0
西藏茶事显示文摘The first rays of a new dawn have been cast upon the earth.Tibetan families all across the'roof of the world'are now beginning their normal routines. The first step is to brew a fresh batch of buttered tea,a warm welcome to the day ahead.Tea houses are ubiquitous throughout all of Tibet’s avenues, streets, and lanes. These only serve to solidify the popular proverb,'Three days without food is one thing, but life cannot go on without a single bowl of tea.'Buttered tea,of course,is an impeccable necessity for Tibetans.Indeed, tea absolutely enjoys unrivalled status in the daily lives of the people inhabiting the plateau.Norbu Tsering Cao Jian Zhang Jingpin Gesang Paljor Huang Wenjuan(Translated) 2022China's Tibet2022,33,1:0

Promising New Life of Former Tibetan Serfs显示文摘MEMORIES of the dark days in the serfdom era come flooding back whenever Lobsang Dolma,79,passes through the entrance gate of her village. Some 60 years ago, hanging over the gate was a mace representing the authority of the Soikang family, owner of the then Kesum Manor.“[The mace]symbolized the misery of serfs’lives in Kesum Manor,”said Lobsang recalling her abhorrence of the Soikang family,self-styled as descendants of the fourth Dalai Lama.NORBU TSERING WANG ZEHAO 2021China Today2021,70,5:0
