| 2 | Molecular classifications of gastric cancers: Novel insights and possible future applications显示文摘Despite some notable advances in the systemic management of gastric cancer(GC), the prognosis of patients with advanced disease remains overall poor and their chance of cure is anecdotic. In a molecularly selected population, a median overall survival of 13.8 mo has been reached with the use of human epidermal growth factor 2(HER2) inhibitors in combination with chemotherapy, which has soon after become the standard of care for patients with HER2-overexpressing GC. Moreover, oncologists have recognized the clinical utility of conceiving cancers as a collection of different molecularlydriven entities rather than a single disease. Several molecular drivers have been identified as having crucial roles in other tumors and new molecular classifications have been recently proposed for gastric cancer as well. Not only these classifications allow the identification of different tumor subtypes with unique features, but also they serve as springboard for the development of different therapeutic strategies. Hopefully, the application of standard systemic chemotherapy, specifictargeted agents, immunotherapy or even surgery in specific cancer subgroups will help maximizing treatment outcomes and will avoid treating patients with minimal chance to respond, therefore diluting the average benefit. | 7 | Anomalous behaviour detection using one-class support vector machine and remote sensing images: a case study of algal bloom occurrence in inland waters显示文摘Algal blooms are a frequent subject in scientific discussions and are the focus of many recent studies,mainly due to their adverse effect on society.Given the lack of ground truth data and the need to develop tools for their detection and monitoring,this research proposes a novel method to automate detection.Concepts derived from multi-temporal image series processing,spectral indices and classification with Oneclass Support Vector Machine(OC-SVM)are used in this proposal.Imagery from multi-spectral sensors on Landsat-8 and MODIS were acquired through the Google Earth Engine API(GEE API).In order to evaluate our method,two bloom detection case studies(Lake Erie(USA)and Lake Taihu(China))were performed.Comparisons were made with methods based on spectral index thresholds.Also,to demonstrate the performance of the OC-SVM classifier compared to other machine learning methods,the proposal was adapted to be used with a Random Forest(RF)classifier,having its results added to the analysis.In situ measurements show that the proposed method delivers highly accurate results compared to spectral index thresholding approaches.However,a drawback of the proposal refers to its higher computational cost.The application of the new method to a real-world bloom case is demonstrated. | Pedro Henrique Moraes Ananias Rogério Galante Negri | 2021 | International Journal of Digital Earth2021，14，7： | 2 |
