6Mathematical Modelling of Malaria with Treatment显示文摘This paper proposes a Susceptible-Infective-Susceptible(SIS)model to study the malaria transmission with treatment by considering logistic growth of mosquito population.In this work,it is assumed that the treatment rate is proportional to the number of infectives below the capacity and is constant when the number of infectives is greater than the capacity.We find that the system exhibits backward bifurcation if the capacity is small and it gives bi-stable equilibria which makes the system more sensitive to the initial conditions.The existence and stability of the equilibria of the model are discussed in-detail and numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the numerical results.Mini Ghosh 2013Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics2013,5,6:0

9Assessing the impact of agrochemicals on schistosomiasis transmission: A mathematical study显示文摘Schistosomiasis is a snail-borne parasitic disease,which is affecting almost 240 million people worldwide.The number of humans affected by schistosomiasis is continuously increasing with the rise in the use of agrochemicals.In this paper,a mathematical model is formulated and analyzed to assess the effect of agrochemicals on the transmission of schistosomiasis.The proposed model incorporates the effects of fertilizers,herbicides and insecticides on susceptible snails and snail predators along with schistosomiasis disease transmission.The existence and stability of the equilibria in the model are discussed.Sensitivity analysis is performed to identify the key parameters of the proposed model,which contributes most in the transmission of this disease.Numerical simulations are also performed to assess the impact of fertilizers,herbicides and insecticides on schistosomiasis outbreaks.Our study reveals that the agricultural pollution can enhance the transmission intensity of schistosomiasis,and in order to prevent the outbreak of schistosomiasis,the use of pesticides should be controlled.Liming Cai Peixia Yue Mini Ghosh Xuezhi Li 2021International Journal of Biomathematics2021,14,8:0
