| 2 | Solar term peak of onset and death in 1 597 patients with acute ischemic stroke Circular statistical analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND: Previously, time data were analyzed by using constituent ratio or relative ratio; however, circular statistical analysis could exactly provide average peak phase of diseases. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the correlation of solar term peak with onset and death of acute ischemic stroke. DESIGN: Retrospective case analysis. SETTINGS: Emergency Department of Foshan Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Department of Science and Education, the Second People's Hospital of Foshan. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 1 597 patients with acute ischemic stroke were selected from Emergency Room, Department of Neurology, Foshan Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1994 to 2002. There were 875 males and 722 females, and their ages ranged from 33 to 97 years. All cases met the diagnostic criteria of acute cerebral infarction modified by the Second National Cerebrovascular Disease Academic Meeting; meanwhile, they were diagnosed with CT/MRI test. Patients and their relatives provided the confirmed consent. METHODS: Solar term of onset was retrospectively analyzed in 1 597 patients with acute ischemic stroke; among them, solar term of death in 90 cases were analyzed by using circular statistical analysis to calculate peak phase of onset and death of acute ischemic stroke and investigate the correlation of solar term with onset and death of acute ischemic stroke. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Onset and death time of patients with acute ischemic stroke. RESULTS: Solar term of onset in 1 597 patients, especially solar term of death in 90 patients, was not concentrated (P > 0.05), and specific peak phase was not found out. Acute ischemic stroke low attacked from vernal equinox to summer begins, but death caused by acute ischemic stroke high attacked from grain buds to autumn begins. | 3 | Rational Design of Ratiometric Fe^(3+) Fluorescent Probes Based on FRET Mechanism显示文摘As the most abundant transition metal element in mammals, iron(Fe) plays a vital role in life activities. It is of great significance to study the variation of Fe3+ level in living organisms. In virtue of the advantages of high sensitivity, good selectivity and low damage to living systems, the fluorescence detection of Fe3+ has attracted much attention. Compared with the intensity-based fluorescent probe, the ratiometric fluorescent probe has less interference of environmental and can realize quantitative detection. In this study, four ratiometric Fe3+ fluorescent probes, R1, R2, R3 and R4, were designed and synthesized using fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET) mechanism to achieve quantitative detection of Fe3+. In the FRET systems, 1,8-naphthalimide fluorophore derivatives were adopted as donors while rhodamine B derivatives were selected as receptors. The connection sites of the donor and acceptor in R3 and R4 are different from those in R1 and R2. All the four probes showed good response and selectivity to Fe3+. The energy transfer efficiencies of R3 and R4 were obviously higher than those of R1 and R2. | 4 | Comparison of Covariate Balance Weighting Methods in Estimating Treatment Effects显示文摘Different covariate balance weighting methods have been proposed by researchers from different perspectives to estimate the treatment effects.This paper gives a brief review of the covariate balancing propensity score method by Imai and Ratkovic(2014),the stable balance weighting procedure by Zubizarreta(2015),the calibration balance weighting approach by Chan,et al.(2016),and the integrated propensity score technique by Sant’Anna,et al.(2020).Simulations are conducted to illustrate the finite sample performance of both the average treatment effect and quantile treatment effect estimators based on different weighting methods.Simulation results show that in general,the covariate balance weighting methods can outperform the conventional maximum likelihood estimation method while the performance of the four covariate balance weighting methods varies with the data generating processes.Finally,the four covariate balance weighting methods are applied to estimate the treatment effects of the college graduate on personal annual income. | ZHAN Mingfeng FANG Ying LIN Ming | 2022 | Journal of Systems Science & Complexity2022,35,6: | 0 |
| 5 | Synthesis and DNA Cleavage Properties of Triazacrown Derivatives显示文摘New metal-free DNA cleaving reagent 1,1,4,7-triazacrown(TACN)both with aminoethyl,hydroxyethyl side arms and a planar anthraquinone linked by an alkyl(1,6-hexamethylene)spacer has been synthesized and characterized by NMR and MS spectrometry.For comparison,the corresponding aminoethyl,hydroxyethyl triazacrown derivative 2 without the anthraquinone has also been synthesized.DNA-binding properties via fluorescence and CD spectroscopy indicate that the binding affinity of 1 with DNA is much stronger than that of 2.Agarose gel electrophoresis was used to assess plasmid pUC19 DNA cleavage.Kinetic data of DNA cleavage promoted by 1,2 and parent triazacrown(TACN)3 under physiological condition give the 15-fold and 234-fold rate acceleration of compound 1 over 2 and parent triazacrown 3.Radical scavenger inhibition study suggests that DNA cleavage promoted by 1 may be a non-oxidative pathway through the transphosphorylation and then hydrolysis.The dramatic rate acceleration is due not only to the anthraquinone moiety of compound 1 intercalating into DNA base pairs via stacking interaction,but also the cooperative catalysis of the nucleophilic hydroxyl and the electrophilic ammonium group for the cleavage of phosphodiester of DNA. | Mingfeng Fang Li Wei Zhongxiang Lin Guo-Yuan Lu | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2014,32,2: | 0 |
