| 1 | Relationship between Th17 immune response and cancer显示文摘Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide and epidemiological projections predict growing cancer mortality rates in the next decades.Cancer has a close relationship with the immune system and,although Th17 cells are known to play roles in the immune response against microorganisms and in autoimmunity,studies have emphasized their roles in cancer pathogenesis.The Th17 immune response profile is involved in several types of cancer including urogenital,respiratory,gastrointestinal,and skin cancers.This type of immune response exerts pro and antitumor functions through several mechanisms,depending on the context of each tumor,including the protumor angiogenesis and exhaustion of T cells and the antitumor recruitment of T cells and neutrophils to the tumor microenvironment.Among other factors,the paradoxical behavior of Th17 cells in this setting has been attributed to its plasticity potential,which makes possible their conversion into other types of T cells such as Th17/Treg and Th17/Th1 cells.Interleukin(IL)-17 stands out among Th17-related cytokines since it modulates pathways and interacts with other cell profiles in the tumor microenvironment,which allow Th17 cells to prevail in tumors.Moreover,the IL-17 is able to mediate pro and antitumor processes that influence the development and progression of various cancers,being associated with variable clinical outcomes.The understanding of the relationship between the Th17 immune response and cancer as well as the singularities of carcinogenic processes in each type of tumor is crucial for the identification of new therapeutic targets. | Hanna Santos Marques Breno Bittencourt de Brito Filipe Antônio França da Silva Maria Luísa Cordeiro Santos Júlio César Braga de Souza Thiago Macêdo Lopes Correia Luana Weber Lopes Nayara Silva de Macêdo Neres Rafael Santos Dantas Miranda Dórea Anna Carolina Saúde Dantas Lorena Lôbo Brito Morbeck Iasmin Souza Lima Amanda Alves de Almeida Maiara Raulina de Jesus Dias Fabrício Freire de Melo | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Oncology2021，12，10： | 5 |
| 2 | Menopause and cognitive impairment:A narrative review of current knowledge显示文摘A severe impairment of cognitive function characterizes dementia.Mild cognitive impairment represents a transition between normal cognition and dementia.The frequency of cognitive changes is higher in women than in men.Based on this fact,hormonal factors likely contribute to cognitive decline.In this sense,cognitive complaints are more common near menopause,a phase marked by a decrease in hormone levels,especially estrogen.Additionally,a tendency toward worsened cognitive performance has been reported in women during menopause.Vasomotor symptoms(hot flashes,sweating,and dizziness),vaginal dryness,irritability and forgetfulness are common and associated with a progressive decrease in ovarian function and a subsequent reduction in the serum estrogen concentration.Hormone therapy(HT),based on estrogen with or without progestogen,is the treatment of choice to relieve menopausal symptoms.The studies conducted to date have reported conflicting results regarding the effects of HT on cognition.This article reviews the main aspects of menopause and cognition,including the neuroprotective role of estrogen and the relationship between menopausal symptoms and cognitive function.We present and discuss the findings of the central observational and interventional studies on HT and cognition. | Délio Marques Conde Roberto Carmignani Verdade Ana L R Valadares Lucas F B Mella Adriana OrcesiPedro Lucia Costa-Paiva | 2021 | World Journal of Psychiatry2021，11，8： | 3 |
| 3 | Client-level predictors of treatment engagement,outcome and dropout:moving beyond demographics显示文摘Background Despite the availability of evidence-based treatments for posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD),significant heterogeneity in the effectiveness of PTSD treatment persists,especially in community settings.Client demographics used to understand this variability in treatment outcome and dropout have yielded mixed results.Despite increasing evidence for the importance of attending to treatment engagement in community settings,few studies have explored client-level predictors.Aim The purpose of this study is to explore client-level predictors of treatment outcome and dropout beyond client demographics,and to identify client-level predictors of treatment engagement in community settings.Method Secondary data analysis was conducted with data collected as part of an implementation-effectiveness hybrid study of cognitive processing therapy(CPT)for PTSD in a diverse community healthcentre.Providers(n=19)treated(n=52)clients as part of their routine clinical care.Non-demographic client-level predictors included barriers to treatment,quality of life,session-level language and employment history assessed at baseline.Treatment engagement included number of weeks in the study,number of sessions with repeated CPT content,number of unique CPT sessions attended,frequency of session attendance and consistency of session attendance.Results Results showed language as a significant predictor of treatment engagement.There were significant differences between Spanish and English-speaking clients,with the former having a tendency to repeat more session content than the latter(β=1.4 sessions,p=0.003),and also less likely to attend treatment frequently(r=0.62,p=0.009)and consistently(r=0.57,p=0.027)if high logistical and financial barriers were endorsed.Irrespective of language,clients who reported high quality of life at baseline were less likely to repeat CPT session content(β=-0.3,p=0.04),and those with increased baseline barriers to treatment had deceleration in PTSD symptom improvement over time(β=-0.62,p<0.05).In terms of treatment engagement moderators impacting treatment outcome,clients who repeated more session content were more likely to complete treatment(0R=1.84,p=0.037).Conclusion Identification of client-level predictors of treatment engagement,outcome and dropout is essential to optimise treatment,particularly in community settings. | Soo-jeong Youn Margaret-Anne Mackintosh Shannon Wiltsey Stirman Kay lie A Patrick Yesenia Aguilar Silvan Anna D Bartuska Derri L Shtasel Luana Marques | 2019 | General Psychiatry2019，32，6： | 2 |
