2Emerging roles of lactic acid bacteria in protection against colorectal cancer显示文摘Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the third leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide and the fourth most common cancer diagnosed among men and women in the United States.Considering the risk factors of CRC,dietary therapy has become one of the most effective approaches in reducing CRC morbidity and mortality.The use of probiotics is increasing in popularity for both the prevention and treatment of a variety of diseases.As the most common types of microbes used as probiotics,lactic acid bacteria(LAB)are comprised of an ecologically diverse group of microorganisms united by formation of lactic acid as the primary metabolite of sugar metabolism.LAB have been successfully used in managing diarrhea,food allergies,and inflammatory bowel disease.LAB also demonstrated a host of properties in preventing colorectal cancer development by inhibiting initiation or progression through multiple pathways.In this review,we discuss recent insights into cellular and molecular mechanisms of LAB in CRC prevention including apoptosis,antioxidant DNA damages,immune responses,and epigenetics.The emerging experimental findings from clinical trials as well as the proposed mechanisms of gut microbiota in carcinogenesis will also be briefly discussed.Li Zhong Xufei Zhang Mihai Covasa 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,24:17
3Metabolic syndrome and risk of subsequent colorectal cancer显示文摘The metabolic syndrome and visceral obesity have anincreasing prevalence and incidence in the generalpopulation. The actual prevalence of the metabolicsyndrome is 24% in US population and between24.6% and 30.9% in Europe. As demonstrated by many clinical trials (NAHANES , INTERHART) the metabolic syndrome is associated with an increased risk of both diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In addition to cardiovascular disease, individual components of the metabolic syndrome have been linked to the development of cancer, particularly to colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is an important public health problem; in the year 2000 there was an estimated total of 944 717 incident cases of colorectal cancer diagnosed world-wide. This association is sustained by many epidemiological studies. Recent reports suggest that individuals with metabolic syndrome have a higher risk of colon or rectal cancer. Moreover, the clusters of metabolic syndrome components increase the risk of associated cancer. The physiopathological mechanism that links metabolic syndrome and colorectal cancer is mostly related to abdominal obesity and insulin resistance. Population and experimental studies demonstrated that hyperinsulinemia, elevated C-peptide, elevated body mass index, high levels of insulin growth factor-1, low levels of insulin growth factor binding protein-3, high leptin levels and low adiponectin levels are all involved in carcinogenesis. 4Autophagy in colorectal cancer:An important switch from physiology to pathology显示文摘Colorectal cancer(CRC) remains a leading cause of cancer death in both men and women worldwide.Among the factors and mechanisms that are involved in the multifactorial etiology of CRC,autophagy is an important transformational switch that occurs when a cell shifts from normal to malignant.In recent years,multiple hypotheses have been considered regarding the autophagy mechanisms that are involved in cancer.The currently accepted hypothesis is that autophagy has dual and contradictory roles in carcinogenesis,but the precise mechanisms leading to autophagy in cancer are not yet fully defined and seem to be context dependent.Autophagy is a surveillance mechanism used by normal cells that protects them from the transformation to malignancy by removing damaged organelles and aggregated proteins and by reducing reactive oxygen species,mitochondrial abnormalities and DNA damage.However,autophagy also supports tumor formation by promoting access to nutrients that are critical to the metabolism and growth of tumor cells and by inhibiting cellular death and increasing drug resistance.Autophagy studies in CRC have focused on several molecules,mainly microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3,beclin 1,and autophagy related 5,with conflicting results.Beneficial effects were observed for some agents that modulate autophagy in CRC either alone or,more often,in combination with other agents.More extensive studies are needed in the future to clarify the roles of autophagy-related genes and modulators in colorectal carcinogenesis,and to develop potential beneficial agents for the prognosis and treatment of CRC.Florin Burada Elena Raluca Nicoli Marius Eugen Ciurea Daniel Constantin Uscatu Mihai Ioana Dan Ionut Gheonea 2015World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2015,7,11:15

7Performance of heavy ductile iron castings for windmills显示文摘The main objective of the present paper is to review the specific characteristics and performance obtaining conditions of heavy ductile iron(DI) castings,typically applied in windmills industry,such as hubs and rotor housings.The requirements for high impact properties in DI at low temperatures are part of the ENGJS-400-18U-LT(SRN 1563) commonly referred to as GGG 40.3(DIN 1693).Pearlitic in-uence factor(Px) and antinodularising action factor(K1) were found to have an important in-uence on the structure and mechanical properties,as did Mn and P content,rare earth(RE) addition and inoculation power.The presence of high purity pig iron in the charge is extremely beneficial,not only to control the complex factors Px and K1,but also to improve the 'metallurgical quality' of the iron melt.A correlation of C and Si limits with section modulus is very important to limit graphite nodule flotation.Chunky and surface-degenerated graphite are the most controlled graphite morphologies in windmills castings.The paper concluded on the optimum iron chemistry and melting procedure,Mg-alloys and inoculants peculiar systems,as well as on the practical solutions to limit graphite degeneration and to ensure castings of the highest integrity,typically for this field.Iulian Riposan Mihai Chisamera Stelian Stan 2010China Foundry2010,7,2:9
8Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentration and inflammatory bowel disease characteristics in Romania显示文摘AIM:To describe the relationship between vitamin D levels and inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)characteristics in northeastern Romanian patients.METHODS:This was a prospective study of 47 consecutive IBD patients admitted to The Institute of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Iasi,Romania between March 2011 and June 2012.The diagnosis of IBD was established based on endoscopic,histologic and radiologic findings.Demographic data,disease characteristics,ongoing treatments and biological parameters of patients(including markers of inflammation:C-reactive protein level,fibrinogen level,and erythrocyte sedimentation rate)were recorded.Serum vitamin D levels were measured and compared with age-and sexmatched healthy volunteers from the same geographic area.Vitamin D levels were defined as sufficient(>30ng/mL),insufficient(20-30 ng/mL),or severely defi-cient(<20 ng/mL).RESULTS:Thirty-three of the IBD patients included in this study had ulcerative colitis(UC)and 14 had Crohn’s disease(CD).Only 24%of the UC patients and 21%of the CD patients had sufficient vitamin D levels.The vitamin D levels were significantly lower in the CD patients with moderate to severe disease activity compared to the CD patients in remission or with mild disease activity(16±6 ng/mL vs 26±7 ng/mL;16±6 ng/mL vs 31±9 ng/mL,respectively,P<0.05).Vitamin D levels in the UC patients were not influenced by disease activity and no correlation was observed with the inflammation markers tested(C-reactive protein,fibrinogen,and erythrocyte sedimentation rate).No association was observed between vitamin D levels and smoking status or ongoing medication(5ASA,steroids,and anti-TNFα).Newly diagnosed IBD patients had lower vitamin D levels than patients with established cases,though these differences were not significant(UC:22±9 ng/mL vs 26±12 ng/mL;CD:18±6 ng/mL vs 27±11 ng/mL,respectively).Although no association was found between the season during which the visit was scheduled and vitamin D levels,the UC patients assessed during the winter tended to have lower levels than those assessed during the summer(22±9 ng/mL vs 28±13 ng/mL,respectively).CONCLUSION:Vitamin D levels are significantly reduced in IBD patients in northeastern Romania,with the lowest levels occurring in CD patients with moderate to severe disease activity.Gabriela Dumitrescu Catalina Mihai Mihaela Dranga Cristina Cijevschi Prelipcean 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,9:8
9New developments in high quality grey cast irons显示文摘The paper reviews original data obtained by the present authors,revealed in recent separate publications,describing specific procedures for high quality grey irons,and reflecting the forecast needs of the worldwide iron foundry industry.High power,medium frequency coreless induction furnaces are commonly used in electric melting grey iron foundries.This has resulted in low sulphur(<0.05wt.%)and aluminium(<0.005wt.%)contents in the iron,with a potential for higher superheating(>1,500°C),contributing to unfavourable conditions for graphite nucleation.Thin wall castings are increasingly produced by these electric melt shops with a risk of greater eutectic undercooling during solidification.The paper focused on two groups of grey cast irons and their specific problems:carbides and graphite morphology control in lower carbon equivalent high strength irons(CE=3.4%-3.8%),and austenite dendrite promotion in eutectic and slightly hypereutectic irons(CE=4.1%-4.5%),in order to increase their strength characteristics.There are 3 stages and 3 steps involving graphite formation,iron chemistry and iron processing that appear to be important.The concept in the present paper sustains a threestage model for nucleating flake graphite[(Mn,X)S type nuclei].There are three important groups of elements(deoxidizer,Mn/S,and inoculant)and three technological stages in electric melting of iron(superheat,pre-conditioning of base iron,final inoculation).Attention is drawn to a control factor(%Mn)x(%S)ensuring it equals to 0.03–0.06,accompanied by 0.005wt.%–0.010wt.%Al and/or Zr content in inoculated irons.It was found that iron powder addition promotes austenite dendrite formation in eutectic and slightly eutectic,acting as reinforcement for the eutectic cells.But,there is an accompanying possible negative influence on the characteristics of the(Mn,X)S type graphite nuclei(change the morphology of nuclei from polygonal compact to irregular polygonal,and therefore promote chill tendency in treated irons).A double addition(iron powder+inoculant)appears to be an effective treatment to benefit both austenite and graphite nucleation,with positive effects on the final structure and chill tendency.Iulian Riposan Mihai Chisamera Stelian Stan 2014China Foundry2014,11,4:8
10San copolymer membranes with ion exchangers for Cu(Ⅱ)removal from synthetic wastewater by electrodialysis显示文摘Heterogeneous membranes were obtained by using styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer(SAN)blends with low content of ion-exchanger particles(5 wt.%). The membranes obtained by phase inversion were used for the removal of copper ions from synthetic wastewater solutions by electrodialytic separation. The electrodialysis was conducted in a three cell unit, without electrolyte recirculation. The process, under potentiostatic or galvanostatic control, was followed by p H and conductivity measurements in the solution. The electrodialytic performance,evaluated in terms of extraction removal degree(rd) of copper ions, was better under potentiostatic control then by the galvanostatic one and the highest(over 70%) was attained at8 V. The membrane efficiency at small ion-exchanger load was explained by the migration of resin particles toward the pores surface during the phase inversion. 11Generalized Predictive Control for Superheated Steam Temperature Regulation in a Supercritical Coal-fired Power Plant显示文摘The design and implementation of a Generalized Predictive Control(GPC)strategy for the superheated steam temperature regulation in a supercritical(SC)coal-fired power plant is presented.A Controlled Auto-Regressive MovingAverage(CARMA)model of the plant is derived from using the experimental data to approximately predict the plant’s future behavior.This model is required by the GPC algorithm to calculate the future control inputs.A new GPC controller is designed and its performance is tested through extensive simulation studies.Compared with the performance of the plant using a conventional PID controller,the steam temperature controlled by the GPC controller is found to be more stable.The stable steam temperature leads to more efficient plant operation and energy saving,as demonstrated by the simulation results.Plant performance improvement is also tested while the plant experiences the load demand changes and disturbances resulting from the malfunctioning of coal mills.Mihai Draganescu Shen Guo Jacek Wojcik Jihong Wang Xiangjie Liu Guolian Hou Yali Xue Qirui Gao 2015CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,1:7
12全流量大鼠体外循环模型的建立显示文摘目的建立可存活全流量的大鼠体外循环(cardiopulmonary bypass,CPB)模型。方法8只雄性Sprague-Dawley大鼠异氟烷吸入诱导麻醉后,经口气管内插管,接呼吸机行机械通气。进行尾动脉、腹壁尾侧浅动静脉和右侧颈外静脉血管穿刺置管等外科准备。经颈外静脉置入的多孔套管为静脉引流通道,以经尾动脉置入套管为CPB动脉灌注管道,血液经过特制膜氧合器进行氧合建立CPB并进行90 min CPB灌注。实验动物均进行血气和血流动力学等基本生理指标监测,并在CPB前、CPB后60 min以及CPB后1周测定细胞因子(IL-6和IL-10)以了解CPB所致的大鼠全身炎症情况。结果成功建立了不输血全流量大鼠CPB模型,所有实验动物全部存活至7天以上。受试动物IL-6和IL-10在CPB后显著升高,一周后回降到术前正常水平。结论本实验成功建立了全流量大鼠CPB模型,CPB后大鼠出现明显的全身炎症反应,这为研究CPB并发症病理生理机制以及相应的应对策略提供可靠经济的动物模型。朱斌 Mihai V. 14High levels of homocysteine downregulate apolipoprotein E expression via nuclear factor kappa B显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of high homocysteine(Hcy) levels on apolipoprotein E(apoE) expression and the signaling pathways involved in this gene regulation.METHODS: Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and Western blot were used to assess apo E expression in cells treated with various concentrations(50-500 μmol/L) of Hcy. Calcium phosphatetransient transfections were performed in HEK-293 and RAW 264.7 cells to evaluate the effect of Hcy on apoE regulatory elements [promoter and distal multienhancer 2(ME2)]. To this aim, plasmids containing the proximal apoE promoter [(-500/+73)apoE construct] alone or in the presence of ME2 [ME2/(-500/+73)apoE construct] to drive the expression of the reporter luciferase gene were used. Co-transfection experiments were carried out to investigate the downstream effectors of Hcymediated regulation of apoE promoter by using specific inhibitors or a dominant negative form of IKβ. In other co-transfections, the luciferase reporter was under the control of synthetic promoters containing multiple specific binding sites for nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB), activator protein-1(AP-1) or nuclear factor of activated T cells(NFAT). Chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChI P)assay was accomplished to detect the binding of NF-κB p65 subunit to the apoE promoter in HEK-293 treated with 500 μmol/L Hcy. As control, cells were incubated with similar concentration of cysteine. NF-κB p65 proteins bound to DNA were immunoprecipitated with anti-p65 antibodies and DNA was identified by PCR using primers amplifying the region-100/+4 of the apoE gene. RESULTS: RT-PCR revealed that high levels of Hcy(250-750 μmol/L) induced a 2-3 fold decrease in apoE m RNA levels in HEK-293 cells, while apo E gene expression was not significantly affected by treatment with lower concentrations of Hcy(100 μmol/L). Immunoblotting data provided additional evidence for the negative role of Hcy in apoE expression. Hcy decreased apoE promoter activity, in the presence or absence of ME2, in a dose dependent manner, in both RAW 264.7 and HEK-293 cells, as revealed by transient transfection experiments. The downstream effectors of the signaling pathways of Hcy were also investigated. The inhibitory effect of Hcy on the apo E promoter activity was counteracted by MAPK/ERK kinase 1/2(MEK1/2) inhibitor U0126, suggesting that MEK1/2 is involved in the downregulation of apoE promoter activity by Hcy. Our data demonstrated that Hcy-induced inhibition of apoE took place through activation of NF-κB. Moreover, we demonstrated that Hcy activated a synthetic promoter containing three NF-κB binding sites, but did not affect promoters containing AP-1 or NFAT binding sites. ChI P experiments revealed that NF-κB p65 subunit is recruited to the apoE promoter following Hcy treatment of cells.CONCLUSION: Hcy-induced stress negatively modulates apoE expression via MEK1/2 and NF-κB activation. 17Thermal analysis control of in-mould and ladle inoculated grey cast irons显示文摘The effect of addition of 0.05wt.% to 0.25 wt.% Ca,Zr,Al-FeSi alloy on in-ladle and in-mould inoculation of grey cast irons was investigated.In the present paper,the conclusions drawn are based on thermal analysis.For the solidification pattern,some specific cooling curves characteristics,such as the degree of undercooling at the beginning of eutectic solidif ication and at the end of solidifi cation,as well as the recalescence level,are identif ied to be more influenced by the inoculation technique.The degree of eutectic undercooling of the electrically melted base iron having 0.025% S,0.003% Al and 3.5% Ce is excessively high(39-40℃),generating a relatively high need for inoculation.Under these conditions,the in-mould inoculation has a more signif icant effect compared to ladle inoculation,especially at lower inoculant usage(less than 0.20 wt.%).Generally,the eff iciency of 0.05wt.% -0.15wt.% of alloy for in-mould inoculation is comparable to,or better than,that of 0.15wt.% -0.25wt.% addition in ladle inoculation procedures.In order to secure stable and controlled processes,representative thermal analysis parameters could be used,especially in thin wall grey iron castings production.Mihai Chisamera Iulian Riposan Stelian Stan Eduard Stefan George Costache 2009China Foundry2009,6,2:4

19Automatic landing system using neural networks and radio-technical subsystems显示文摘The paper focuses on the design of a new automatic landing system(ALS) in longitudinal plane; the new ALS controls the aircraft trajectory and longitudinal velocity. Aircraft control is achieved by means of a proportional-integral(PI) controller and the instrumental landing system– the first phase of landing(the glide slope) and a proportional-integral-derivative(PID) controller together with a radio-altimeter – the second phase of landing(the flare); both controllers modify the reference model associated with aircraft pitch angle. The control of the pitch angle and longitudinal velocity is performed by a neural network adaptive control system, based on the dynamic inversion concept, having the following as components: a linear dynamic compensator, a linear observer, reference models, and a Pseudo control hedging(PCH) block. The theoretical results are software implemented and validated by complex numerical simulations; compared with other ALSs having the same radio-technical subsystems but with conventional or fuzzy controllers for the control of aircraft pitch angle and longitudinal velocity, the architecture designed in this paper is characterized by much smaller overshoots and stationary errors.Romulus Lungu Mihai Lungu 2017Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,1:4
20Complex(Mn,X)S compounds-major sites for graphite nucleation in grey cast iron显示文摘Despite the cubic system,the ability of sulphides to nucleate graphite can be enhanced by inoculating elements which transform them in complex compounds with a better lattice matching to graphite,a low coagulation capacity,good stability and adequate interfacial energy.(Mn,X)S compounds,usually less than 5.0μm in size,with an average 0.4-2.0μm well defined core(nucleus),were found to be important sites for graphite nucleation in grey irons.A three-stage model for the nucleation of graphite in grey irons is proposed:(1)Very small micro-inclusions based on strong deoxidizing elements(Mn,Si,Al,Ti,Zr)are formed in the melt;(2)Nucleation of complex(Mn,X)S compounds at these previously formed micro-inclusions;(3)Graphite nucleates on the sides of the(Mn,X)S compounds with lower crystallographic misfit.Al appears to have a key role in this process,as Al contributes to the formation of oxides in the first stage and favors the presence of Sr and Ca in the sulphides,in the second stage.The 0.005-0.010%Al range was found to be beneficial for lower undercooling solidification,type-A graphite formation and carbides avoidance.Iulian Riposan Mihai Chisamera Stelian Stan Doug White 2009China Foundry2009,6,4:4
