1中国肺癌死亡趋势分析及发病、死亡的估计与预测显示文摘背景与目的利用我国现有相对较完善的肺癌发病死亡资料,描述中国肺癌死亡趋势,并估计和预测2000年及2005年的肺癌发病与死亡状况,以期对我国肺癌临床、基础研究及防治策略制定提供依据及参考.方法利用Joinpoint模型对卫生部上报WHO的中国1987~1999年肺癌死亡数据进行趋势分析,结合我国1990~1992年第二次全死因调查结果及我国入选<五大洲癌症发病率>第八卷中肿瘤登记处的肺癌发病死亡数据,采用对数线性模型(基于Poisson分布),估计并预测2000年及2005年中国肺癌的发病、死亡状况.结果我国肺癌年龄调整死亡率总体呈上升趋势,尤以农村明显(男性年均上升2.7%,女性上升3.6%,均有统计学意义)且各年龄段(15岁以上)均呈不同程度上升趋势.自2000年至2005年,我国肺癌的死亡人数将增加10.1万(自2000年的32.7万增至2005年的42.8万),发病人数将增加11.6万(自2000年的38.1万增至2005年的49.7万).结论由于肺癌危险因素变化及人口增长、老龄化的双重作用,肺癌已成为中国近年来最常见、增幅最大的恶性肿瘤之一,其预防与控制将成为未来中国肿瘤控制计划制定和实施的重点之一,而控制烟草无疑成为其关键.杨玲 李连弟 陈育德 Donald Maxwell Parkin 2005中国肺癌杂志2005,8,4:167

3瞬变电磁法中两种关断电流对响应函数的影响及其应对策略显示文摘关断时间是影响瞬变电磁资料处理和解释质量的一个重要因素 ,也是衡量TEM仪器性能的一个关键参数。提出了一种直接数值校正方案 ,并通过对线性和指数关断电流的校正描述了该方案的实施过程。根据文中提出的方案 ,只要仪器记录了一次场的衰减曲线 ,就可以进行较为精确的校正 ,并不必要假设线性衰减或指数衰减 ,这一结论无论是对TEM的仪器设计还是数据处理都具有重要意义。白登海 Maxwell Meju 2001地震地质2001,23,2:59
4东亚地区癌症负担和预防策略显示文摘目的:探讨东亚地区当前的癌症负担、危险因素、预防和控制策略。方法:应用全球癌症数据库和5大洲癌症发病资料,利用发病率、死亡率和患病率指标估计东亚地区的癌症负担,分析主要癌症的预防策略。结果:东亚地区癌症的年新发病例数为280万,死亡病例200多万,现患病例490万。最常见的5种癌症是胃癌、肺癌、肝癌、食管癌和结直肠癌,占东亚地区癌症年新发病例数的68%(分别占癌症年新发病例数的18.7%、16.9%、14.2%、9.4%和9.1%)。预计2050年的癌症新发病例数将达600万,死亡病例450万。结论:癌症是目前和今后东亚地区面临的严重公共卫生问题,必须贯彻以预防为主的方针。蔡琳 GOLDSTEIN Binh Yang PARKIN Donald Maxwell 张作风 2008肿瘤2008,28,5:36

6Gastroesophageal reflux disease: Important considerations for the older patients显示文摘Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is the most common upper gastrointestinal disorder seen in the elderly. The worldwide incidence of GERD is increasing as the incidence of Helicobacter pylori is decreasing. Although elderly patients with GERD have fewer symptoms, their disease is more often severe. They have more esophageal and extraesophageal complications that may be potentially life threatening. Esophageal complications include erosive esophagitis, esophageal stricture, Barrett's esophagus and adenocarcinoma of the esophagus. Extraesophageal complications include atypical chest pain that can simulate angina pectoris; ear, nose, and throat manifestations such as globus sensation, laryngitis, and dental problems; pulmonary problems such as chronic cough, asthma, and pulmonary aspiration. A more aggressive approach may be warranted in the elderly patient, because of the higher incidence of severe complications. 10中国汉族人群TCRCα基因-575A/G多态性与IgA肾病临床病理的相关分析显示文摘目的:探讨T细胞受体保守域α链基因(TCRCα)-575 A/G多态性与中国汉族人群IgA肾病临床病理的相关关系.方法:PCR-RFLP法和PCR产物直接测序法鉴定基因型,对IgA肾病患者的临床及病理资料进行相关分析,并对病例进行追踪随访.结果:①291例患者临床资料分析显示:在伴有肉眼血尿患者中AA基因型的出现频率显著性升高(P<0.05);在年龄、性别、血压、血尿、蛋白尿、血清IgA水平等临床指标中任何基因型的分布频率均无统计学意义(P>0.05).②294例患者病理资料分析显示:在IgA肾病Haas分级的Ⅱ+Ⅲ级的患者中,AA基因型其分布频率相对于其他基因型有显著增加(P<0.05).③219例IgA肾病患者,TCRCα基因-575 A/G不论是基因型还是等位基因,在肾功能稳定组与进展组相比较均未见显著性差异(P>0.05).结论:中国汉族人群中,TCRCα基因-575 A/G多态性可能和肉眼血尿的发生、系膜增生相关,但可能与肾功能进展不相关.薛超 李幼姬 李彩霞 杜勇 王一鸣 黄玮俊 夏运风 黎嘉能 Patrick H Maxwell 2005第四军医大学学报2005,26,22:10
11摄入石墨烯量子点的家蚕可直接吐出力学性能增强的蚕丝(英文)显示文摘家蚕蚕丝具有细腻、光鲜以及优良的力学特性,因而在诸多领域中都有广泛应用.许多科学家对提高家蚕蚕丝力学性能的研究非常感兴趣.本工作中,我们通过血管注射的方式给家蚕幼虫注入了石墨烯量子点(GQDs),并且得到了力学性能增强的蚕丝. GQDs可通过淋巴循环进入到家蚕的丝腺器官并影响家蚕的纺丝过程.研究发现,当家蚕的GQDs摄入量为0.6μg/头时,家蚕蚕丝的断裂强度、断裂伸长率以及韧性模量可分别增强到原来的2.74, 1.33和3.62倍.广角X射线散射(WAXS)结果表明GQDs-蚕丝中的β-折叠纳米晶体的尺寸比起空白蚕丝有所降低,红外光谱结果表明GQDs限制了丝素蛋白中无规则卷曲或者α-螺旋结构向β-折叠结构的构象转变.β-折叠结构的尺寸及含量的变化可能是引起蚕丝力学性能增强的原因所在.我们还对GQDs的毒性以及单头家蚕摄入GQDs的安全限进行了评估,结果发现家蚕摄入GQDs的上限为30.0μg/头.使家蚕直接摄入GQDs获得力学性能增强的蚕丝的方法为生产高强度蚕丝提供了一种有潜力的途径.马琳 Maxwell Akologo Akurugu Vivian Andoh 刘海燕 宋江超 武国华 李龙 2019Science China Materials2019,62,2:8
12Comparison between endoscopic sphincterotomy vs endoscopic sphincterotomy associated with balloon dilation for removal of bile duct stones:A systematic review and meta-analysis based on randomized controlled trials显示文摘AIM To compare gallstones removal rate and incidence of bleeding, pancreatitis, use of mechanical lithotripsy, cholangitis and perforation between isolated sphincterotomy vs sphincterotomy associated with balloon dilation of papilla in choledocholithiasis through the meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials. METHODS We conducted a systematic review according to the PRISMA guidelines. Literature search was restricted to randomized controlled trials(RCTs) on Med Line, Cochrane Library, LILACS, and EMBASE database platforms in July 2017. The manual search included references of retrieved articles. We extracted data focusing on outcomes: The primary endpoint was the stones removal rate; Secondary endpoints were rates of pancreatitis, bleeding, use of mechanical lithotripsy(ML), perforation and cholangitis. RESULTS Eleven RCTs with 1824 patients were included. EST was associated with more post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) bleeding [FE RD-0.02, CI(-0.03,-0.00), I2 = 33%, P = 0.05] and more need of mechanical lithotripsy in general [RE RD-0.16, CI(-0.25,-0.06), I2 = 90%, P = 0.002] and in subgroup analysis of stones greater than 15 mm [RE RD-0.20, CI(-0.38,-0.02), I2 = 82%, P = 0.003]. Incidence of pancreatitis [FE RD-0.01, CI(-0.03, 0.01), I2 = 0, P = 0.36], cholangitis [FE RD-0.00, CI(-0.01, 0.01), I2 =0, P = 0.97] and perforation [FE RD-0.01, CI(-0.01, 0.00), I2 = 0, P = 0.23] was similar between the groups as well as similar stone removal rates in general [FE RD-0.01, CI(-0.01, 0.04), I2 = 0, P = 0.23] and pooled analysis of stones greater than 15 mm [FE RD-0.02, CI(-0.02, 0.07), I2 = 11%, P = 0.31]. CONCLUSION Through meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials we found that isolated sphincterotomy was associated with more post-ERCP bleeding and more need for mechanical lithotripsy. 13氮自掺杂暴露(001)晶面TiO_2微米片的可见光光催化CO_2还原性能增强(英文)显示文摘化石能源的使用可产生大量CO2,带来严重的温室效应.光催化CO2还原生产太阳燃料技术既有望缓解温室效应,又可以将低能量密度的太阳能转化为高能量密度的化学能储存起来方便使用.高效光催化材料的开发是发展光催化技术的关键.迄今,在已开发的所有半导体光催化材料中,Ti O2仍是广泛研究的明星材料.在实际使用中,Ti O2的光催化效率仍受限于其极弱的可见光利用率和较高的电子-空穴复合几率.近年来,越来越多的研究表明Ti O2的结构与形貌特征极大地影响其光催化效率.尤其,Ti O2的外露晶面设计与晶面效应研究引起了广泛关注.由于具有较高表面能和较多表面不饱和键,起初大多数理论和实验研究认为锐钛矿Ti O2(001)晶面是光催化活性晶面.后来,越来越多研究表明并非锐钛矿Ti O2(001)晶面的暴露比例越高其光催化活性就越高.最近,我们发现锐钛矿Ti O2(001)晶面与(101)晶面在调控光催化CO2还原性能上具有良好的协同效应.密度泛函理论计算表明,锐钛矿Ti O2的(001)晶面与(101)晶面的能带结构有差异,(001)晶面的导带位置相对于(101)晶面而言较高,而(101)晶面的价带位置相对于(001)晶面而言较低.基于此我们提出,具有合适比例的锐钛矿Ti O2的(001)晶面与(101)晶面的交界处可以形成最佳的表面异质结或晶面异质结.表面异质结的形成导致光生电子倾向于向(101)扩散,光生空穴倾向于向(001)扩散,从而促进光生电子-空穴分离,降低光生电子-空穴复合几率.在此工作基础上,我们直接以氮化钛为原料,氢氟酸为添加剂,通过简单的水热反应一步合成了氮自掺杂的Ti O2微米片.利用X射线粉末衍射、扫描电镜、X射线光电子能谱、紫外-可见漫反射光谱、氮气吸附-脱附以及电化学阻抗谱等方法手段对所制备的光催化剂进行了基本结构与理化性质表征分析,并研究了其可见光光催化CO2还原性能.电镜照片结果表明,我们所制备的氮自掺杂锐钛矿Ti O2微米片的(001)晶面与(101)晶面比例分别为65%和35%.基于我们前期研究结果,Ti O2微米片的(001)晶面与(101)晶面可以形成表面异质结,具有良好的电荷分离效率,这也得到了电化学阻抗谱研究结果的证明.同时,由于N的原位掺杂,所制备的Ti O2微米片具有优异的可见光捕获能力.由于可见光利用效率增强与光生电子-空穴分离效率提高这两方面的综合作用,所制备的氮自掺杂Ti O2微米片具有非常好的可见光光催化CO2还原制甲醇性能,比商用P25及氮掺杂Ti O2纳米粒子等参考样品的可见光光催化性能更优异.研究表明,通过原位自掺杂方法与晶面设计方法相结合,可以同时改善Ti O2的可见光利用效率和光生电子-空穴分离效率,优化Ti O2的可见光光催化性能,这也为后续开发新型高效光催化材料提供了新思路.Maxwell Selase Akple 刘敬祥 秦志扬 S.Wageh Ahmed.A.Al-Ghamdi 余家国 刘升卫 2015Chinese Journal of Catalysis2015,36,12:7

15The R2R3-type MYB transcription factor MdMYB90-like is responsible for the enhanced skin color of an apple bud sport mutant显示文摘The anthocyanin content in apple skin determines its red coloration,as seen in a Fuji apple mutant.Comparative RNA-seq analysis was performed to determine differentially expressed genes at different fruit development stages between the wild-type and the skin color mutant.A novel R2R3-MYB transcription factor,MdMYB90-like,was uncovered as the key regulatory gene for enhanced coloration in the mutant.The expression of MdMYB90-like was 21.3 times higher in the mutant.MdMYB90-like regulates anthocyanin biosynthesis directly through the activation of anthocyanin biosynthesis genes and indirectly through the activation of other transcription factors that activate anthocyanin biosynthesis.MdMYB90-like bound to the promoters of both structural genes(MdCHS and MdUFGT)and other transcription factor genes(MdMYB1 and MdbHLH3)in the yeast one-hybrid system,electrophoretic mobility shift assay,and dual-luciferase assay.Transgenic analysis showed that MdMYB90-like was localized in the nucleus,and its overexpression induced the expression of other anthocyanin-related genes,including MdCHS,MdCHI,MdANS,MdUFGT,MdbHLH3,and MdMYB1.The mutant had reduced levels of DNA methylation in two regions(−1183 to−988 and−2018 to−1778)of the MdMYB90-like gene promoter,which might explain the enhanced expression of the gene and the increased anthocyanin content in the mutant apple skin.Chao Sun Chunming Wang Wang Zhang Shuai Liu Weiyao Wang Xinyi Yu Tao Song Maxwell Yu Weichang Yu Shenchun Qu 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:6

17Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy Against Streptococcus mutans Establishes Protective Non-cariogenic Oral Biofilms and Reduces Subsequent Infection显示文摘Aim Dental biofilms are complex communities composed largely of harmless bacteria. Certain pathogenic species including Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) can become predominant when host factors such as dietary sucrose intake imbalance the biofilm ecology. Current approaches to control S. mutans infection are not pathogen-specific and eliminate the entire oral community along with any protective benefits provided. Here, we tested the hypothesis that removal of S. mutans from the oral community through targeted antimicrobial therapy achieves protection against subsequent S. mutans colonization. Methodology Controlled amounts of S. mutans were mixed with S. mutans-free saliva, grown into biofilms and visualized by antibody staining and cfu quantization. Two specifically-targeted antimicrobial peptides (STAMPs) against S. mutans were tested for their ability to reduce S. mutans biofilm incorporation upon treatment of the inocula. The resulting biofilms were also evaluated for their ability to resist subsequent exogenous S. mutans colonization. Results S. mutans colonization was considerably reduced (9 ± 0.4 fold reduction, P=0.01) when the surface was preoccupied with saliva-derived biofilms. Furthermore, treatment with S. mutans-specific STAMPs yielded S. mutans-deficient biofilms with significant protection against further S. mutans colonization (5 minutes treatment: 38 ± 13 fold reduction P=0.01; 16 hours treatment: 96 ± 28 fold reduction P=0.07). Conclusion S. mutans infection is reduced by the pre- sence of existing biofilms. 18STEP-POOL MORPHOLOGY IN HIGH-GRADIENT STREAMS显示文摘The focus of this study is to examine bed stability and morphology in high-gradient gravel-bed streams, and thus to improve understanding of the various parameters governing the sediment flow characteristics in mountain streams. Ultimately, this knowledge can be used to design pseudo-natural channels, as in the stream simulation method of culvert design; with this in mind, prototype conditions are evaluated in a flume with slopes ranging from 3% to 7%, and particle relative submergence varying from 0.5 to 2.5 for three bed size distributions. These experiments are designed to satisfy the conditions of dynamic similarity for flow and sediment, and they are preferred over field measurements since they allow a high degree of control over testing conditions. It is found that step-pool bedforms are the most ubiquitous features along the gravel bed. A new formula is developed that correlates step height with the gravel-bed size distribution, relative submergence of the particles, and the Froude number. The step spacing is found to be related to step height and streambed longitudinal slope. Flow resistance is also examined, and a formula is developed which accounts for the resistance due to the bedforms (form resistance), as well as the individual sediment particles (grain resistance).A.R. 19Von Hippel-Lindau tumor suppressor pathways&corresponding therapeutics in kidney cancer显示文摘The identification and application of the Von Hippel-Lindau(VHL)gene is a seminal breakthrough in kidney cancer research.VHL and its protein p VHL are the root cause of most kidney cancers,and the cascading pathway below them is crucial for understanding hypoxia,in addition to the aforementioned tumorigenesis routes and treatments.We reviewed the history and functions of VHL/pVHL and Hypoxia-inducible factor(HIF),their well-known activities under low-oxygen environments as an E3 ubiquitin ligase and as a transcription factor,respectively,as well as their non-canonical functions revealed recently.Additionally,we discussed how their dysregulation promotes tumorigenesis:beginning with chromosome 3 p-arm(3p)loss/epigenetic methylation,followed by two-allele knockout,before the loss of complimentary tumor suppressor genes leads cells down predictable oncological paths.These different pathways can ultimately determine the grade,outcome,and severity of the deadliest genitourinary cancer.We finished by investigating current and proposed schemes to therapeutically treat clear cell renal cell carcinoma(cc RCC)by manipulating the hypoxic pathway utilizing Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor(VEGF)inhibitors,mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1(mTORC1)inhibitors,small molecule HIF inhibitors,immune checkpoint blockade therapy,and synthetic lethality.Maxwell Shulman Rachel Shi Qing Zhang 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,7:4
20Three-dimensional distinct element modeling of fault reactivation and induced seismicity due to hydraulic fracturing injection and backflow显示文摘This paper presents a three-dimensional fully hydro-mechanical coupled distinct element study on fault reactivation and induced seismicity due to hydraulic fracturing injection and subsequent backflow process,based on the geological data in Horn River Basin,Northeast British Columbia,Canada.The modeling results indicate that the maximum magnitude of seismic events appears at the fracturing stage.The increment of fluid volume in the fault determines the cumulative moment and maximum fault slippage,both of which are essentially proportional to the fluid volume.After backflow starts,the fluid near the joint intersection keeps flowing into the critically stressed fault,rather than backflows to the wellbore.Although fault slippage is affected by the changes of both pore pressure and ambient rock stress,their contributions are different at fracturing and backflow stages.At fracturing stage,pore pressure change shows a dominant effect on induced fault slippage.While at backflow stage,because the fault plane is under a critical stress state,any minor disturbance would trigger a fault slippage.The energy analysis indicates that aseismic deformation takes up a majority of the total deformation energy during hydraulic fracturing.A common regularity is found in both fracturing-and backflow-induced seismicity that the cumulative moment and maximum fault slippage are nearly proportional to the injected fluid volume.This study shows some novel insights into interpreting fracturing-and backflowinduced seismicity,and provides useful information for controlling and mitigating seismic hazards due to hydraulic fracturing.Zirui Yin Hongwei Huang Fengshou Zhang Lianyang Zhang Shawn Maxwell 2020Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2020,12,4:4
