| 1 | NONPARAMETRIC DETECTION OF RADAR TARGET IN NONHOMOGENEOUS ENVIRONMENTS显示文摘This poaper is devoted to the performance evaluation of the Generalized Sigu(GS). Trimmed Generalized Sign(TGS), Modified Savage(MS). Mann-Whitney(MW) and a new proposed detector in multiple target situations. The analysis is carried out for both fluctuating and nonfluctuating received signals. The simulation results show that the new proposed detector has the best detection performance in homogeneous as well as nonhomogeneous background conditions, while TGS procedure is better than the GS detector in distinguishing the primary target from the secondary interfering ones. | Mohamed B. | 2 | PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF THE DOUBLE-THRESHOLD CFAR DETECTOR IN MULTIPLE-TARGET SITUATIONS显示文摘In radar systems of automatic detection, an estimate of background clutter power is used to set the detection threshold. An interference saturated environment is frequently encountered in these systems (multiple target situations). Therefore, the detection of signals in such an environment becomes one of the most important problems to be solved. The double-threshold algorithm is one of the more interesting detectors used in these situations. While the first threshold operation ensures that the calculation of the detection (second) threshold is based on a set of samples which is free of strong interferers and is therefore much more representative of the noise level, the second threshold is used to declare the presence or the absence of the radar target. The object of the present paper is to analyze the performance of such type of CFAR schemes when the radar receiver contains a noncoherent integrator amongst its basic elements. It is found that the processor detectabil ity loss is very low and the performance degradation, caused by interferers is quite small even if the number of outlying targets is large, given that the first threshold is properly chosen. | Mohamed B. | 3 | EXACT ANALYSIS OF OS MODIFIED VERSIONS WITH NONCOHERENT INTEGRATION显示文摘This paper deals with the exact detection analysis of the Ordered-Statistic(OS) processor along with OS Greatest Of(OSGO) and OS Smallest Of(OSSO) modified versions, for M postdetection integrated pulses when the operating environment is nonhomogeneous. Analytical results are presented in multiple-target case as well as in regions of clutter power transitions. The primary and the secondary interfering targets are assumed to be fluctuating in accordance with the SWII target fluctuation model. As the number of noncoherently integrated pulses increases, lower threshold values and consequently better detection performances are obtained in both homogeneous and multiple target background models. However, the false alarm rate performance of OSSO-CFAR(Constant False Alarm Rate) scheme at clutter edges is worsen with increasing the postdetection integrated pulses. As predicted, the OSGO-CFAR detector accommodates the presence of spurious targets in the reference window, given that their number is within its allowable range in each local window, and controls the rate of false alarm when the contents of the reference cells have clutter boundaries. | Mohamed B.El Mashade | 2004 | Journal of Electronics(China)2004,21,4: | 2 |

| 18 | A New Rank Test Nonparametric Procedure for Radar Detection in Multiple Target Situations显示文摘This paper deals with the detection performance evaluation of a new nonparametric procedure. The test statistics of the proposed processor have a simple statistical form which is derived from that of the suboptimum rank test procedure [1]. The performance of the new distributionfree detection technique is obtained through Monte-Carlo simulations and compared with that of the suboptimum scheme when detecting nonfluctuating target embedded in Gaussian noise and in the presence of interfering target returns among the reference samples. The new nonparametric detector is shown to give a relative improvement over the suboptimum processor, especially, when the background environment contains a numerous-number of extraneous targets. | Mohamed B EL Mashade & Abdel Atty Moussa (Electrical Engineering Dept., Faculty of Engineering, Al Azhar Universityt Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt) | 1998 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics1998,9,3: | 1 |
