2Magnetic Configuration Effects on Fast Ion Losses Induced by Fast Ion Driven Toroidal Alfvén Eigenmodes in the Large Helical Device显示文摘Beam-ion losses induced by fast-ion-driven toroidal Alfvén eigenmodes (TAE) were measured with a scintillator-based lost fast-ion probe (SLIP) in the large helical device (LHD). The SLIP gave simultaneously the energy E and the pitch angle χ=arccos(v // /v) distribution of the lost fast ions. The loss fluxes were investigated for three typical magnetic configurations of R ax vac =3.60 m, 3.75 m, and 3.90 m, where R ax vac is the magnetic axis position of the vacuum field. Dominant losses induced by TAEs in these three configurations were observed in the E/χ regions of 50~190 keV/40°, 40~170 keV/25°, and 30~190 keV/30°, respectively. Lost-ion fluxes induced by TAEs depend clearly on the amplitude of TAE magnetic fluctuations, R ax vac and the toroidal field strength Bt . The increment of the loss fluxes has the dependence of (bTAE /Bt ) s . 3High Power Neutral Beam Injection in LHD显示文摘The results on high power injection with the neutral beam injection(NBI)systemfor the Large Helical Device(LHD)are reported.The system consists of three beam-lines withtwo hydrogen negative ion(H^- ion)sources installed in each beam-line.In order to improvethe injection power,a new beam accelerator with a multi-slot grounded grid(MSGG)has beendeveloped and applied to one beam-line.Using the accelerator,a maximum power of 5.7 MW wasachieved in 2003 and 2004,and the maximum energy of 189 keV was reached.The power andenergy exceeded the design values of the individual beam-line for LHD.The other beam-lines alsoincreased their injection power up to about 4 MW,and the total injection power of 13.1 MW wasachieved with three beam-lines in 2003.Although the accelerator had an advantage in high powerbeam injection,extracted beams expand in the short side direction of the ground-grid slot.Thedisadvantage has been resolved by modifying the aperture shapes of the steering grid.K.TSUMORI Y.TAKEIRI K.NAGAOKA K.IKEDA M.OSAKABE Y.OKA O.KANEKO M.SHIBUYA T.KONDO M.SATO E.ASANO 2006Plasma Science and Technology2006,8,1:0
