1Simulation of Coupling Process of Flexible Needle Insertion into Soft Tissue Based on ABAQUS显示文摘In order to get to the desired target inside the body,it is essential to investigate the needle-tissue coupling process and calculate the tissue deformation.A cantilever beam model is presented to predicting the deflection and bending angle of flexible needle by analyzing the distribution of the force on needle shaft during the procedure of needle insertion into soft tissue.Furthermore,a finite element(FE)coupling model is proposed to simulate the needle-tissue interactive process.The plane and spatial models are created to relate the needle and tissue nodes.Combined with the cantilever beam model and the finite element needle-tissue coupling model,the simulation of needle-tissue interaction was carried out by the ABAQUS software.The comparing experiments are designed to understand the needle-tissue interactions,by which the same points in the experiments and simulation are compared and analyzed.The results show that the displacements in x and z directions in the simulation can accord with the experiments,and the deformation inside the tissue mainly occurs in the axial direction.The study is beneficial to the robot-assisted and virtual needle insertion procedure,and to help the physicians to predict the inside tissue deformation during the treatments.Linze Wang Dedong Gao Jiajie Fu Yuzhou Luo Shijian Zhao 2020Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,8:3
2An internal-external optimized convolutional neural network for arbitrary orientated object detection from optical remote sensing images显示文摘Due to the bird’s eye view of remote sensing sensors,the orientational information of an object is a key factor that has to be considered in object detection.To obtain rotating bounding boxes,existing studies either rely on rotated anchoring schemes or adding complex rotating ROI transfer layers,leading to increased computational demand and reduced detection speeds.In this study,we propose a novel internal-external optimized convolutional neural network for arbitrary orientated object detection in optical remote sensing images.For the internal opti-mization,we designed an anchor-based single-shot head detector that adopts the concept of coarse-to-fine detection for two-stage object detection networks.The refined rotating anchors are generated from the coarse detection head module and fed into the refining detection head module with a link of an embedded deformable convolutional layer.For the external optimiza-tion,we propose an IOU balanced loss that addresses the regression challenges related to arbitrary orientated bounding boxes.Experimental results on the DOTA and HRSC2016 bench-mark datasets show that our proposed method outperforms selected methods.Sihang Zhang Zhenfeng Shao Xiao Huang Linze Bai Jiaming Wang 2021Geo-Spatial Information Science2021,24,4:1

5Electrochemical and biological performance of hierarchical platinum-iridium electrodes structured by a femtosecond laser显示文摘Neural electrode interfaces are essential to the stimulation safety and recording quality of various bioelectronic therapies.The recently proposed hierarchical platinum-iridium(Pt-Ir)electrodes produced by femtosecond lasers have exhibited superior electrochemical performance in vitro,but their in vivo performance is still unclear.In this study,we explored the electrochemical performance,biological response,and tissue adhesion of hierarchical Pt-Ir electrodes by implantation in adult rat brains for 1,8,and 16 weeks.Regular smooth Pt-Ir electrodes were used as a control.The results showed that the electrochemical performance of both electrodes decreased and leveled off during implantation.However,after 16 weeks,the charge storage capacity of hierarchical electrodes stabilized at~16.8 mC/cm^(2),which was 15 times that of the smooth control electrodes(1.1 mC/cm^(2)).Moreover,the highly structured electrodes had lower impedance amplitude and cutoff frequency values.The similar histological response to smooth electrodes indicated good biocompatibility of the hierarchically structured Pt-Ir electrodes.Given their superior in vivo performance,the femtosecond laser-treated Pt-Ir electrode showed great potential for neuromodulation applications.Linze Li Changqing Jiang Wanru Duan Zhiyan Wang Feng Zhang Changgeng He Tiangang Long Luming Li 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,5:1
