Dynamic characteristics of lime-treated expansive soil under cyclic loading显示文摘To better understand the dynamic properties of expansive clay treated with lime, a series of laboratory tests were conducted using a dynamic triaxial test system. The influential factors, including moisture content, confining pressure, vibration frequency, consolidation ratio, and cycle number on the dynamic characteristics were discussed. Experimental results indicate that specimens at low moisture contents tend to damage along the 30° shear plane and they present brittle failure, while saturated specimens show swelling phenomenon and plastic failure. A reduction in cohesion has been observed for unsaturated samples at large number of cycles, while it is opposite for the internal friction angle. For the saturated specimens, both the cohesion and internal friction angle decrease with increasing number of cycles.Min Wang Lingwei Kong Chong Zhao Meng Zang 2012Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2012,4,4:8
Effects of sample dimensions and shapes on measuring soil-water characteristic curves using pressure plate显示文摘It is well known that soilewater characteristic curve(SWCC) plays an important role in unsaturated soil mechanics, but the measurement of SWCC is inconvenient. In laboratory it requires days of testing time. For fine-grained clays, it may last for a couple of months using pressure plate tests. In this study, the effects of sample dimensions and shapes on the balance time of measuring SWCCs using pressure plate tests and the shape of SWCCs are investigated. It can be found that the sample dimensions and shapes have apparent influence on the balance time. The testing durations for circular samples with smaller diameters and annular samples with larger contact area are significantly shortened. However, there is little effect of sample dimensions and shapes on the shape of SWCCs. Its mechanism is explored and discussed in details through analysing the principle of pressure plate tests and microstructure of the sample. Based on the above findings, it is found that the circular samples with smaller dimensions can accelerate the testing duration of SWCC using the pressure plate.Min Wang Lingwei Kong Meng Zang 2015Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2015,7,4:8
Amoxicillin effects on functional microbial community and spread of antibiotic resistance genes in amoxicillin manufacture wastewater treatment system显示文摘This study aimed to reveal how amoxicillin(AMX) affected the microbial community and the spread mechanism of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs) in the AMX manufacture wastewater treatment system. For this purpose, a 1.47 L expanded granular sludge bed(EGSB) reactor was designed and run for 241 days treating artificial AMX manufacture wastewater. 454 pyrosequencing was applied to analyze functional microorganisms in the system. The antibiotic genes OXA_(-1), OXA_(-2), OXA_(-10), TEM_(-1), CTX-M_(-1), class I integrons(intI1) and 16 SrRNA genes were also examined in sludge samples. The results showed that the genera Ignavibacterium, Phocoenobacter,Spirochaeta, Aminobacterium and Cloacibacillus contributed to the degradation of different organic compounds(such as various sugars and amines). And the relative quantification of eachβ-lactam resistance gene in the study was changed with the increasing of AMX concentration.Furthermore the vertical gene transfer was the main driver for the spread of ARGs rather than horizontal transfer pathways in the system.Lingwei Meng Xiangkun Li Xinran Wang Kaili Ma Gaige Liu Jie Zhang 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,11:5
CT radiomics can help screen the coronavirus disease2019(COVID-19): a preliminary study显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) is raging across the world. The radiomics, which explores huge amounts of features from medical image for disease diagnosis, may help the screen of the COVID-19.In this study,we aim to develop a radiomic signature to screen COVID-19 from CT images. We retrospectively collect 75 pneumonia patients from Beijing Youan Hospital, including 46 patients with COVID-19 and 29 other types of pneumonias. These patients are divided into training set(n = 50) and test set(n = 25) at random. We segment the lung lesions from the CT images, and extract 77 radiomic features from the lesions. Then unsupervised consensus clustering and multiple cross-validation are utilized to select the key features that are associated with the COVID-19.In the experiments, while twenty-three radiomic features are found to be highly associated with COVID-19,four key features are screened and used as the inputs of support vector machine to build the radiomic signature. We use area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC) and calibration curve to assess the performance of our model. It yields AUCs of 0.862 and 0.826 in the training set and the test set respectively. We also perform the stratified analysis and find that its predictive ability is not affected by gender, age, chronic disease and degree of severity. In conclusion,we investigate the value of radiomics in screening COVID-19,and the experimental results suggest the radiomic signature could be a potential tool for diagnosis of COVID-19.Mengjie FANG Bingxi HE Li LI Di DONG Xin YANG Cong LI Lingwei MENG Lianzhen ZHONG Hailin LI Hongjun LI Jie TIAN 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,7:2
Comparison of ablative and compressive mechanical behavior of several PICA-like ablative materials显示文摘It is significant to compare the ablative and compressive mechanical behavior of different PICA-like materials in the engineering applications. The plasma wind tunnel ablation tests with high-entropy air and CO2 atmospheres, and compressive experiments in the ambient and 150℃,were conducted for three kinds of PICA-like materials(CF/PR-Si,CBCF/PR-SiOC and NQF/PR-Si composites). The traditional carbon/phenolic(C/PR)braided composites were also used for comparison.PICA-like materials have the better thermal insulation than traditional C/PR composite, especially for CBCF/PR-SiOC composite. The ablation behavior of CF/PR-Si and CBCF/PR-SiOC PICA-like materials in the CO2 atmosphere can produce a large amount of SiO2 in the form of coatings, oxide layers and skeletons on the ablated surface, which are greatly different from that in the air atmosphere. The compressive behavior of PICA-like material is greatly depended on the fiber fabrics, and exhibits the large discrete characteristics. The longer fiber in the PICA-like materials plays the role in maintaining the material integrity, while it may increase the thermal conductivity.ZHANG Jun FANG GuoDong YANG LingWei LI Wei HONG ChangQing MENG SongHe 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,8:2
