1Cidea controls lipid droplet fusion and lipid storage in brown and white adipose tissue显示文摘Excess lipid storage in adipose tissue results in the development of obesity and other metabolic disorders including diabetes,fatty liver and cardiovascular diseases.The lipid droplet(LD)is an important subcellular organelle responsible for lipid storage.We previously observed that Fsp27,a member of the CIDE family proteins,is localized to LD-contact sites and promotes atypical LD fusion and growth.Cidea,a close homolog of Fsp27,is expressed at high levels in brown adipose tissue.However,the exact role of Cidea in promoting LD fusion and lipid storage in adipose tissue remains unknown.Here,we expressed Cidea in Fsp27-knockdown adipocytes and observed that Cidea has similar activity to Fsp27 in promoting lipid storage and LD fusion and growth.Next,we generated Cidea and Fsp27 double-deficient mice and observed that these animals had drastically reduced adipose tissue mass and a strong lean phenotype.In addition,Cidea/Fsp27 double-deficient mice had improved insulin sensitivity and were intolerant to cold.Furthermore,we observed that the brown and white adipose tissues of Cidea/Fsp27double-deficient mice had significantly reduced lipid storage and contained smaller LDs compared to those of Cidea or Fsp27single deficient mice.Overall,these data reveal an important role of Cidea in controlling lipid droplet fusion,lipid storage in brown and white adipose tissue,and the development of obesity.WU LiZhen ZHOU LinKang CHEN Cheng GONG JingYi XU Li YE Jing LI De LI Peng 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,1:11
2Regional Prediction of Impending Debris Flow Based on Doppler Weather Radar显示文摘Debris flow prediction is one of the important means to re-duce the loss caused by debris flow. This paper built a regional predic-tion model of impending debris flow based on regional environmental background(including topography,geology,land use,and etc.) ,rainfall and debris flow data. A system of regional prediction of impending de-bris flow was set up on ArcGIS 9.0 platform according to the model. The system used forecast precipitation data of Doppler weather radar and observational precipitation data as its input data. 4Robust asymmetric Cherenkov radiation in tilted anisotropic medium显示文摘Cherenkov radiation(CR)is available for a wide variety of terahertz(THz)radiation sources,but its efficiency is deeply affected by intrinsic losses.We find that if the tilted angle(α)of anisotropic material and radiation angle(θ)meet the condition ofθ+α=π/2,the intensity of radiation fields for the charged particle bunch(CPB)moving from left to right cannot be influenced by intrinsic losses,which means long-distance radiation can be achieved.Furthermore,we observe an asymmetric CR when the CPB moves from the opposite direction.In addition,we select natural van der Waals(vd W)materialα-MoO3as an example,further confirming that the radiation field can reach the far field and the asymmetric CR radiation can also be observed.These wonderful properties with long-distance radiation will extend the application of CR to a certain extent for future design and fabrication.Shuwen Xue Yadong Xu Linkang Han Zhi Ning Chen Qiaoliang Bao Shan Zhu Huanyang Chen 2024Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2024,67,1:0
