1Responses of ammonia-oxidizing microorganisms to biochar and compost amendments of heavy metals-polluted soil显示文摘Heavy metal pollution affects soil ecological function.Biochar and compost can effectively remediate heavy metals and increase soil nutrients.The effects and mechanisms of biochar and compost amendments on soil nitrogen cycle function in heavy-metal contaminated soils are not fully understood.This study examined how biochar,compost,and their integrated use affected ammonia-oxidizing microorganisms in heavy metal polluted soil.Quantitative PCR was used to determine the abundance of ammonia-oxidizing archaea(AOA)and bacteria(AOB).Ammonia monooxygenase(AMO)activity was evaluated by the enzymelinked immunosorbent assay.Results showed that compost rather than biochar improved nitrogen conversion in soil.Biochar,compost,or their integrated application significantly reduced the effective Zn and Cd speciation.Adding compost obviously increased As and Cu effective speciation,bacterial 16 S rRNA abundance,and AMO activity.AOB,stimulated by compost addition,was significantly more abundant than AOA throughout remediation.Correlation analysis showed that AOB abundance positively correlated with NO_(3)^(-)-N(r=0.830,P<0.01),and that AMO activity had significant correlation with EC(r=-0.908,P<0.01)and water-soluble carbon(r=-0.868,P<0.01).Those seem to be the most vital factors affecting AOB community and their function in heavy metal-polluted soil remediated by biochar and compost.Mingyue Li Jiachao Zhang Xiao Yang Yaoyu Zhou Lihua Zhang Yuan Yang Lin Luo Qingyun Yan 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:5
2Quantitative Analysis of the Outdoor Thermal Comfort in the Hot and Humid Summertime of Shenzhen, China显示文摘Outdoor thermal comfort has always been a major issue due to its irreplaceable role in maintaining good health and energy use. Thus,quantitative analysis of outdoor thermal comfort and discussions on influential factors seem very necessary to achieve the climate-conscious urban design. Therefore,an outdoor thermal comfort questionnaire survey and the simultaneous field measurement were conducted in six different places during the hot and humid summertime in Shenzhen. The results show that the overall weather conditions during the investigation can be expressed with high temperature and high humidity with strong solar radiation. The micro-meteorological parameters of six test sites vary greatly due to their different regional spatial layouts.Moderate range of air temperature( Ta) is between 28 to 30 ℃ while that of relative humidity( RH) mainly concentrates in 60%-70% with the thermal sensation votes. The main influential factors impacting outdoor thermal comfort are obtained and Tahas the greatest effect. The overall thermal comfortable ranges in Shenzhen are expressed by the range of 28. 14-32. 83 ℃ of PET and 24. 74-30. 45 ℃ of SET*. With the correlation analysis between the characteristic parameters of regional spatial layout and thermal climate and thermal comfort,it reveals that increasing the coverage ratio of water and green space( S) helps lower Taand increase RH. The global solar radiation( G) has a significant negative correlation with the height of buildings( H) and a positive correlation with sky view factor( SVF). 3Muth-Mills Model of Urban Spatial Structure:Theory and Implications for Cities in China显示文摘Given the differences between cities in the United States and China,and the changing structure of Chinese cities,this paper examines the viability of some basic predictions of the Muth-Mills model of urban spatial structure for modern cities in China,using data for the year 2010. Chinese cities are experiencing rapid motorization and road construction over the last two decades,so we have tried to use different measurements for commuting cost in these cities to estimate the empirical model,and concluded that most results support the Muth-Mills assertion. The elasticities of the urban spatial size with respect to the signifi cant variables are discussed,comparing to those for cities in the United States. 4An Empirical Analysis on Interactive Relationship Between Urbanization and Motorization in China over the Period 1985-2010显示文摘In theory,there is a close interactive relationship between urbanization and motorization. This paper investigates the interactive relationship between urbanization and motorization in China after its reform and opening-up by using the urbanization and motorization data during the period 1985 – 2010. The research fi nds that during the period 1985 – 2000,there indeed was a long-run stable interactive relationship between urbanization and motorization in China. 5Two-photon reduction: a cost-effective method for fabrication of functional metallic nanostructures显示文摘Metallic nanostructures have underpinned plasmonic-based advanced photonic devices in a broad range of research fields over the last decade including physics,engineering,material science and bioscience.The key to realizing functional plasmonic resonances that can manipulate light at the optical frequencies relies on the creation of conductive metallic structures at the nanoscale with low structural defects.Currently,most plasmonic nanostructures are fabricated either by electron beam lithography(EBL) or by focused ion beam(FIB) milling,which are expensive,complicated and time-consuming.In comparison,the direct laser writing(DLW) technique has demonstrated its high spatial resolution and cost-effectiveness in three-dimensional fabrication of micro/nanostructures.Furthermore,the recent breakthroughs in superresolution nanofabrication and parallel writing have significantly advanced the fabrication resolution and throughput of the DLW method and made it one of the promising future nanofabrication technologies with low-cost and scalability.In this review,we provide a comprehensive summary of the state-of-the-art DLW fabrication technology for nanometer scale metallic structures.The fabrication mechanisms,different material choices,fabrication capability,including resolution,conductivity and structure surface smoothness,as well as the characterization methods and achievable devices for different applications are presented.In particular,the development trends of the field and the perspectives for future opportunities and challenges are provided at the end of the review.It has been demonstrated that the quality of the metallic structures fabricated using the DLW method is excellent compared with other methods providing a new and enabling platform for functional nanophotonic device fabrication.Sahar Tabrizi YaoYu Cao Han Lin BaoHua Jia 2017Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2017,60,3:0
6Roles of UV light strength and auxiliary electric field in the photocatalytic degradation effect of organic contaminant显示文摘The accumulation of contaminants on the electrical devices could adversely affect the operation.The present work used photocatalytic functional material to coat on the surface of the electrical devices to prevent the influence of organic contamination.This kind of material was mainly composed of TiO_(2)that can remove the contamination by the effect of photooxidation.The photocatalysis was affected by the strength of UV light and electric field.In the experiment,methyl orange(MO)was used as the organic contaminant.The effect of UV light and auxiliary electric field were analysed based on the theoretical simulation.With the stronger UV light,more electron-hole pairs were generated,photocatalytic effect became more pronounced.With the auxiliary electric field,the recombination of electron and hole could be restrained that would increase the productive rate of hole;therefore,more hydroxyl radical will be produced to degrade MO.Lin YaoYu Ma YanXiang Bian XingMing Sun PengCheng 2019High Voltage2019,4,2:0
7Boosting CO_(2) electroreduction to formate via bismuth oxide clusters显示文摘Supported metal(oxide)clusters,with both rich surface sites and high atom utilization efficiency,have shown improved activity and selectivity for many catalytic reactions over nanoparticle and single atom catalysts.Yet,the role of cluster catalysts has been rarely reported in CO_(2)electroreduction reaction(CO_(2)RR),which is a promising route for converting CO_(2)to liquid fuels like formic acid with renewable electricity.Here we develop a bismuth oxide(BiOn)cluster catalyst for highly efficient CO_(2)RR to formate.The BiOn cluster catalyst exhibits excellent activity,selectivity,and stability towards formate production,with a formate Faradaic efficiency of over 90%at a current density up to 500 mA·cm^(−2)in an alkaline membrane electrode assembly electrolyzer,corresponding to a mass activity as high as 3,750 A·gBi−1.The electrolyzer with the BiOn cluster catalyst delivers a remarkable formate production rate of 0.56 mmol·min−1 at a high single-pass CO_(2)conversion of 44%.Density functional theory calculations indicate that Bi4O_(3)cluster is more favorable for stabilizing the HCOO^(*)intermediate than Bi(001)surface and single site BiC_(4)motif,rationalizing the improved formate production over the BiOn cluster catalyst.This work highlights the great importance of cluster catalysts in activity and selectivity control in electrocatalytic CO_(2)conversion.Xiaole Jiang Le Lin Youwen Rong Rongtan Li Qike Jiang Yaoyue Yang Dunfeng Gao 2023Nano Research2023,16,10:0
