| 1 | Rambutan-like hollow carbon spheres decorated with vacancy-rich nickel oxide for energy conversion and storage显示文摘Transition metal oxides hold great promise for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)and electrocatalytic water splitting because of their high abundance and high energy density.However,designing and fabrication of efficient,stable,high power density electrode materials are challenging.Herein,we report rambutan-like hollow carbon spheres formed by carbon nanosheet decorated with nickel oxide(NiO)rich inmetal vacancies(denoted as h-NiO/C)as a bifunctional electrode material for LIBs and electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction(OER).When being used as the anode of LIBs,the h-NiO/C electrode shows a large initial capacity of 885mAh g−1,a robust stability with a high capacity of 817mAh g−1 after 400 cycles,and great rate capability with a high reversible capacity of 523mAh g−1 at 10Ag−1 after 600 cycles.Moreover,working as an OER electrocatalyst,the h-NiO/C electrode shows a small overpotential of 260mV at 10mAcm−2,a Tafel slope of 37.6mVdec−1 along with good stability.Our work offers a cost-effective method for the fabrication of efficient electrode for LIBs and OER. | Zixu Sun Xinghui Wang Hu Zhao See W.Koh Junyu Ge Yunxing Zhao Pingqi Gao Guangjin Wang Hong Li | 2020 | Carbon Energy2020,2,1: | 4 |
| 2 | Complex strengthening mechanisms in the NbMoTaW multiprincipal element alloy显示文摘Refractory multi-principal element alloys(MPEAs)have exceptional mechanical properties,including high strength-to-weight ratio and fracture toughness,at high temperatures.Here we elucidate the complex interplay between segregation,short-range order,and strengthening in the NbMoTaW MPEA through atomistic simulations with a highly accurate machine learning interatomic potential.In the single crystal MPEA,we find greatly reduced anisotropy in the critically resolved shear stress between screw and edge dislocations compared to the elemental metals.In the polycrystalline MPEA,we demonstrate that thermodynamically driven Nb segregation to the grain boundaries(GBs)and W enrichment within the grains intensifies the observed short-range order(SRO).The increased GB stability due to Nb enrichment reduces the von Mises strain,resulting in higher strength than a random solid solution MPEA.These results highlight the need to simultaneously tune GB composition and bulk SRO to tailor the mechanical properties of MPEAs. | Xiang-Guo Li Chi Chen Hui Zheng Yunxing Zuo Shyue Ping Ong | 2020 | npj Computational Materials2020,,1: | 4 |

The samples were ignited and dissolved with HCl:HNO 3 (3:1). The method is simple and accurate. By the determination of the metal residues in the samples, the calculated actual daily exposure and concentration of the metal Pd, Ir, Rh, Ru, Mo, Ni, Cr, V, Cu, Mn, Fe and Zn that were less than the permitted daily exposures (PDE) and the limited concentration permitted in the EMEA guideline on the specification limits for residues of metal catalysts or metal reagents [1] . The metal residues can de adequately removed from the active pharmaceutical ingredients and the corresponding drugs. | 11 | Dysregulation of PLOD2 Promotes Tumor Metastasis and Invasion in Hepatocellular Carcinoma显示文摘Background and Aims:Metastasis is a major factor associated with high recurrence and mortality in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patients while the underlying mechanism of metastasis remains elusive.In our study,procollagen-lysine,2-oxoglutarate 5-dioxygenase 2(PLOD2)was shown to be involved in the process of metastasis in HCC.Methods:The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database and HCC tissue microarrays were used to evaluate the expression of genes.In vitro migration,invasion,in vivo subcutaneous tumor model and in vivo lung metastasis assays were used to determine the role of PLOD2 in tumor growth and metastasis in HCC.RNA sequencing and gene set enrichment analysis were performed to uncover the downstream factor of PLOD2 in HCC cells.A luciferase reporter assay was performed to evaluate the interaction between PLOD2 and interferon regulatory factor 5(IRF5).Results:The expression of PLOD2 in HCC tissues was higher than that in adjacent tissues,and increased PLOD2 expression was often found in advanced tumors and was correlated with poor prognosis in HCC patients.In vitro experiments,knockdown of PLOD2 reduced the migration and invasion of human HCC cells.Loss of PLOD2 suppressed human HCC growth and metastasis in a subcutaneous tumor model and a lung metastasis model.Baculoviral IAP repeat containing 3(BIRC3)was proven to be the downstream factor of PLOD2 in human HCC cells.In addition,PLOD2 was transcriptionally regulated by IRF5 in HCC cells.Conclusions:High expression of PLOD2 was regulated by IRF5,which was correlated with the poor survival of HCC patients.PLOD2 enhanced HCC metastasis via BIRC3,suggesting that PLOD2 might be a valuable prognostic biomarker for HCC treatment. | Keren Li Yi Niu Kai Li Chengrui Zhong Zhiyu Qiu Yichuan Yuan Yunxing Shi Zhu Lin Zhenkun Huang Dinglan Zuo Yunfei Yuan Binkui Li | 2023 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,5: | 0 |
