2Virus-induced Phytoene Desaturase(PDS) Gene Silencing Using Tobacco Rattle Virus in Lilium × formolongi显示文摘Gene function analysis is challenging for Lilium due to the lack of an efficient method for stable genetic transformation. Virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS) is an attractive tool for determining gene function in plants. This study reported that Tobacco rattle virus(TRV)-based VIGS of a PHYTOENE DESATURASE(PDS) ortholog(LhPDS) can be achieved in Lilium × formolongi seedlings, with a survival rate of 92%, using the inoculation method of rubbing plus injection. Compared with untreated and mock-treated seedlings, the photobleached leaf phenotype of silenced plants significantly correlates with down-regulation of endogenous LhPDS(P ≤ 0.05). In addition, the silencing phenomenon can be observed in the growing points of plants, indicating that systemic viral infection was achieved using the protocol. The results indicate that TRV-based VIGS can be used to characterize gene function in Lilium × formolongi. 3Oxide dispersion strengthened stainless steel 316L with superior strength and ductility by selective laser melting显示文摘Dense oxide dispersion strengthened(ODS) 316 L steels with different amount of Y2O3 additions were succe s s fully fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM) even though part of the added Y2O3 got lost during the process.The microstructure was characterized in details and the mechanical properties were tested at room temperature,250℃ and 400℃,respectively.The effect of the scanning speed on agglomeration of nanoparticles during SLM process was discussed.Superior properties,e.g.,yield strength of 574 MPa and elongation of 91%,were achieved at room temperature in SLM ODS 316 L with additional 1% of Y2 O3.At elevated temperature s,the strength kept high but the elongations dropped dra matically.It was observed that nano-voids nucleated throughout the whole gauge section at the sites where nanoinclusions located.The growth and coalescence of these voids were suppre s sed by the formation of an element segregation network before necking,which relieved local stress concentration and thus delayed necking.This unusual necking behavior was studied and compared to the previous theory.It appeared that the strong convection presented in the melt pool can evenly redistribute the short-time milled coarse Y2O3 precursor powder during SLM process.These findings can not only solve the problems encountered during the fabrication of ODS components but also replenish the strengthening mechanism of SLM 316 L thus pave a way for further improving of mechanical properties.Yuan Zhong Leifeng Liu Ji Zou Xiaodong Li Daqing Cui Zhijian Shen 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,7:5

6Emission source-based ozone isopleth and isosurface diagrams and their significance in ozone pollution control strategies显示文摘In the past decade,ozone(O_(3))pollution has been continuously worsening in most developing countries.The accurate identification of the nonlinear relationship between O_(3) and its precursors is a prerequisite for formulating effective O_(3) control measures.At present,precursor-based O_(3) isopleth diagrams are widely used to infer O_(3) control strategy at a particular location.However,there is frequently a large gap between the O_(3)-precursor nonlinearity delineated by the O_(3) isopleths and the emission source control measures to reduce O_(3) levels.Consequently,we developed an emission source-based O_(3) isopleth diagram that directly illustrates the O_(3) level changes in response to synergistic control on two types of emission sources using a validated numerical modeling system and the latest regional emission inventory.Isopleths can be further upgraded to isosurfaces when co-control on three types of emission sources is investigated.Using Guangzhou and Foshan as examples,we demonstrate that similar precursor-based O_(3) isopleths can be associated with significantly different emission source co-control strategies.In Guangzhou,controlling solvent use emissions was the most effective approach to reduce peak O_(3) levels.In Foshan,co-control of on-road mobile,solvent use,and fixed combustion sources with a ratio of 3:1:2 or 3:1:3 was best to effectively reduce the peak O_(3) levels below 145 ppbv.This study underscores the importance of using emission source-based O_(3) isopleths and isosurface diagrams to guide a precursor emission control strategy that can effectively reduce the peak O_(3) levels in a particular area.Huihong Luo Kaihui Zhao Zibing Yuan Leifeng Yang Junyu Zheng Zhijiong Huang Xiaobo Huang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,7:3
7Linking a Storm Water Management Model to a Novel Two-Dimensional Model for Urban Pluvial Flood Modeling显示文摘This article describes a new method of urban pluvial flood modeling by coupling the 1D storm water management model(SWMM)and the 2D flood inundation model(ECNU Flood-Urban).The SWMM modeling results(the overflow of the manholes)are used as the input boundary condition of the ECNU Flood-Urban model to simulate the rainfall–runoff processes in an urban environment.The analysis is applied to the central business district of East Nanjing Road in downtown Shanghai,considering 5-,10-,20-,50-,and 100-year return period rainfall scenarios.The results show that node overflow,water depth,and inundation area increase proportionately with the growing return periods.Water depths are mostly predicted to be shallow and surface flows generally occur in the urban road network due to its low-lying nature.The simulation result of the coupled model proves to be reliable and suggests that urban surface water flooding could be accurately simulated by using this methodology.Adaptation measures(upgrading of the urban drainage system)can then be targeted at specific locations with significant overflow and flooding.Yuhan Yang Leifeng Sun Ruonan Li Jie Yin Dapeng Yu 2020International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2020,11,4:3
8Study on the resistance spot welding technology of 22MnMoB hot stamping quenched steel显示文摘In this paper,the spot welding technology of a new kind of 22 MnMoB hot stamping quenched steel sheet was systematically studied by power frequency spot welder.Through a series of technology and test experiments,we have obtained the optimal spot welding technological parameter condition.According to the results,the relations among spot welding technological parameter,welding nugget,mechanical property and fracture mode were discussed.The effects of all the welding parameters such as welding current,welding time and electrode force on the quality of joint can be boiled down to one thing—the diameter of welding nugget.The experimental results showed that welding nugget diameter determines the mechanical property of spot welding joint and the relation between welding nugget diameter and the mechanical property of joint presents a kind of linear mathematic representation.There are two typical fracture models of 22 MnMoB hot stamping quenched steel sheet,i.e.,interfacial fracture and nugget pullout.Other than mild steel or normal high strength steel,in the shearing tensile test,hot stamping quenched steel has a great tendency to fail in interfacial mode due to the effects of high strength matrix structure,welding soft zone and the porosity level of fusion zone.Feng Yi Ma Mingtu Hua Fu'an Zhang Junping Song Leifeng Jin Qingsheng 2014Engineering Sciences2014,12,5:2

16Self-supported yttria-stabilized zirconia mesocrystals with tunable mesopores prepared by a chemi-thermal process显示文摘Mesoporous mesocrystals are highly desired in catalysis,energy storage,medical and many other applications,but most of synthesis strategies involve the usage of costly chemicals and complicated synthesis routes,which impede the commercialization of such materials.During the sintering of dense ceramics,coarsening is an undesirable phenomenon which causes the growth of the grains as well as the pores hence hinders the densification,however,coarsening is desired in the sintering of porous ceramics to expand the pore sizes while retaining the total pore volume.Here we report a chemi-thermal process,during which nanocrystallite aggregates were synthesized by hydrothermal process and then converted to the product by sintering.Through this strategy,we synthesized mesoporous self-supported mesocrystals of yttria-stabilized zirconia with tunable pore size and the process was then scaled-up to industrial production.The thermal conductivity measurement shows that the mesoporous powder is a good thermal isolator.The monolith pellets can be obtained by SPS sintering under high pressure and the mesoporosity is retained in the monolith pellets.This work features facile and scalable process as well as low cost raw chemicals making it highly desirable in industrial applications.Leifeng Liu Mirva Eriksson Ji Zou Yuan Zhong Qi Liu Zhi Liu Yu-Lung Chiu Zhijian Shen 2019Journal of Materiomics2019,5,3:1
