1Investigation on the interface damage in drilling low-stiffness CFRP/Ti stacks显示文摘Carbon fiber reinforced plastic and titanium alloy(CFRP/Ti) stacks have been widely used as aerospace structures because of their excellent combination of physical properties. Interface damage caused by interface gaps, significantly different from that of metal/metal stacks, is a common problem in the through-hole drilling of CFRP/Ti stacks with low stiffness. In this study, a force–deformation coupling model was developed to further examine the formation mechanism and the control method of interface damage. Firstly, the coupling model was built considering the interaction between the thrust force and the deformation. To solve this model, a numerical method was proposed in which specific cutting coefficients were calibrated using only the thrust force of rigid stacks. Secondly, drilling experiments were performed with different feed rates and bending stiffness. Experimental results indicate that interface damage mainly includes interlayer chips and surface damage of CFRP layers. The surface damage, which is irreparable, is caused by the rotary extension of metal chips along the interlayer gap. Thirdly, variations of the interface gap were calculated with the coupling model that had been verified by measured thrust forces. The damage area was found to have a linear dependence relation with the interlayer gap. However, in conditions of large gap sizes, the interface damage areas increased with the interlayer gap at high feed rates, while decreasing slightly at low feed rates. This phenomenon was satisfactorily explained by the presented model. Finally, a method was proposed to determine the appropriate pressure exceeding which no interlayer damage will occur. Additional drilling experiments proved the method effective. This study leads to further understanding of the forming mechanism of interlayer damage and of selecting appropriate parameters in drilling low-stiffness composite/metal stacks.Bin LUO Kaifu ZHANG Shunuan LIU Hui CHENG Runxiao WANG 2019Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2019,32,9:7

3Passive Control of Laminar Separation Bubble with Spanwise Groove on a Low-speed Highly Loaded Low-pressure Turbine Blade显示文摘LES (Large-Eddy Simulation) computations were preformed to investigate the mechanisms of a kind of spanwisegroove for the passive control of laminar separation bubble on the suction surface of a low-speed highly loadedlow-pressure turbine blade at Re = 50,000 (Reynolds number, based on inlet velocity and axial chord length).Compared with the smooth suction surface, the numerical results indicate that: (1) the groove is effective toshorten and thin the separation bubble, which contributes the flow loss reduction on the groove surface, by thinningthe boundary layer behind the groove and promoting earlier transition inception in the separation bubble; (2)upstream movement of the transition inception location on the grooved surface is suggested being the result of thelower frequency at which the highest amplification rate of instability waves occurs, and the larger initial amplitudeof the disturbance at the most unstable frequency before transition; and (3) the viscous instability mode ispromoted on the grooved surface, due to the thinning of the boundary layer behind the groove.Hualing Luo Weiyang Qiao Kaifu XuCollege of Power and Energy, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an 710072, China 2009Journal of Thermal Science2009,18,3:1

5Loop formation and stability of self-avoiding polymer chains显示文摘Using 3-dimensional Langevin dynamics simulations, we investigated the dynamics of loop formation of chains with excluded volume interactions, and the stability of the formed loop. The mean looping time rl scales with chain length N and corresponding scaling exponent α increases linearly with the capture radius scaled by the Kuhn length a/l due to the effect of finite chain length. We also showed that the probability density function of the looping time is well fitted by a single exponential. Finally, we found that the mean unlooping time τu hardly depends on chain length N for a given a/l and that the stability of a formed loop is enhanced with increasing a/l.Wancheng Yu Kaifu Luo 2015Science China Chemistry2015,58,4:0
