1Counterintuitive Ballistic and Directional Liquid Transport on a Flexible Droplet Rectifier显示文摘Achieving the directional and long-range droplet transport on solid surfaces is widely preferred for many practical applications but has proven to be challenging.Particularly,directionality and transport distance of droplets on hydrophobic surfaces are mutually exclusive.Here,we report that drain fly,a ubiquitous insect maintaining nonwetting property even in very high humidity,develops a unique ballistic droplet transport mechanism to meet these demanding challenges.The drain fly serves as a flexible rectifier to allow for a directional and long-range propagation as well as self-removal of a droplet,thus suppressing unwanted liquid flooding.Further investigation reveals that this phenomenon is owing to the synergistic conjunction of multiscale roughness,structural periodicity,and flexibility,which rectifies the random and localized droplet nucleation(nanoscale and microscale)into a directed and global migration(millimeter-scale).The mechanism we have identified opens up a new approach toward the design of artificial rectifiers for broad applications.Lei Wang Jing Li Bo Zhang Shile Feng Mei Zhang Dong Wu Yang Lu Ji Jung Kai Jing Liu Zuankai Wang Lei Jiang 2020Research2020,,1:6
2Influence of Ganoderma lucidum spores on the levels of neuropeptide Y and somatostatin in brains of seizure rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: Previous research has revealed that somatostatin can induce epilepsy, and that the levels of neuropeptide Y may increase and become more active in brain areas with epileptic seizures. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder on the neuropeptide Y and somatostatin content in the cerebral cortex and hippocampal regions of seizure rats induced by pentylenetetrazol (PTZ). Furthermore, to verify any effect of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder on inhibition of epileptic seizures. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized group animal study was performed in August 2007 in the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Jiamusi University (Jiamusi, Heilongjiang, China). MATERIALS: Thirty healthy, male, Wistar rats, aged 12 weeks and weighing 180–220 g, were taken as the experimental animals. PTZ (Sigma Company, United States) was used to induce epilepsy. Ganoderma lucidum spores (Leyss, ex Fr variety) were purchased from Jiamusi City Wild Growing Case of the Ganoderma Lucidum (China). Rabbit anti-somatostatin antibodies and secondary antibodies were purchased from Wuhan Boster Company (China). Neuropeptide Y radioimmunoassay kit was purchased from Beijing Furui Biotechnology Company (China). METHODS: Thirty rats were randomly divided into three groups: a control group, an epilepsy model group and a Ganoderma lucidum spore-treated group. Each group contained 10 animals. Rats in the epilepsy model group were treated with intraperitoneal injections of PTZ and gastric perfusion of physiologic saline. In the Ganoderma lucidum spore-treated group, intraperitoneal injection of PTZ and gastric perfusion of Ganoderma lucidum spore powder were administered. The blank control group was only administered with the physiological saline by intraperitoneal injection and gastric perfusion. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Immunohistochemical staining and radioimmunoassay methods were used to observe the changes of somatostatin and neuropeptide Y content in brain tissue of epileptic rats, as well as the morphology of neurons. RESULTS: All 30 rats were involved in the result analysis, without any loss. The number of somatostatin immunoreacted positive cells in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus was significantly increased in the epilepsy model group compared to the blank control group (P < 0.01). The number of somatostatin immunoreacted positive cells in cerebral cortex and hippocampus was significantly decreased in the Ganoderma lucidum spore-treated group compared to the epilepsy model group (P < 0.01). The contents of neuropeptide Y in cerebral cortex and hippocampus were significantly increased in the epilepsy model group compared to the blank control group (P < 0.01). The contents of neuropeptide Y in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus were significantly decreased in the Ganoderma lucidum spore-treated group compared to the epilepsy model group (P < 0.05). The epilepsy seizures in the Ganoderma lucidum spore-treated group were obviously reduced compared to the epilepsy model group. CONCLUSION: Ganoderma lucidum spore powder was able to reduce the somatostatin and neuropeptide Y content in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus effectively, so as to achieve an anti-epileptic function and protect neurons from being damaged.Kongli Zhu Ming Lu Shuqiu Wang Shiling Zhang Dixiang Sun 2008Neural Regeneration Research2008,3,5:3
3Moisture electricity generation:Mechanisms,structures,and applications显示文摘With the increasing concern of energy crisis and global warming,the whole globe is in an urgent need to develop clean energy that comes from renewable sources and does not harm the environment to fulfill the carbon neutralization and green earth commitments.Water is the most abundant substance on earth and has been historically used as the major energy carriers in watermill,water wheel,hydroelectricity.Moisture electricity generation is another emerging technology that can convert lowgrade energy in the widely-accessible moisture to electricity simply by the integration of moisture,electrodes,deliberatelydesigned hygroscopic films.Recent research on moisture electricity generators(MEGs)led to the creation of a series of selfpowered sensors and in some occasions they have replaced conventional batteries to power miniaturized devices.In this review,the basic mechanisms of MEGs are firstly clarified,three categories of them,i.e.,gradient structure,homogeneous structure,and heterogeneous structure depending on the structure of hygroscopic films,are then introduced.Furthermore,recent advances in the fabrication,characteristics,performance of MEGs are summarized,MEGs with continuous or transient output that could be applied in self-powered sensors and power sources are discussed.Finally,some remaining challenges and our perspectives on MEGs are highlighted.Quanmao Wei Wenna Ge Zichao Yuan Shixu Wang Chenguang Lu Shile Feng Lei Zhao Yahua Liu 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:1
4Efficient and Practical Syntheses of Enantiomerically Pure (S)-(−)-Norcryptostyline Ⅰ, (S)-(−)-Norcryptostyline Ⅱ, (R)-(+)-Salsolidine and (S)-(−)-Norlaudanosine via a Resolution-Racemization Method显示文摘Four racemic tetrahydroisoquinolines(RS)-(±)-1-4 were prepared from homoveratrylamine via amidation,Bischler-Napieralski reaction and the subsequent reduction.The enantiomerically pure tetrahydroisoquinolines(S)-(−)-norcryptostyline Ⅰ[(S)-(−)-1],(S)-(−)-norcryptostyline Ⅱ[(S)-(−)-2],(R)-(+)-salsolidine[(R)-(+)-3]and(S)-(−)-norlaudanosine[(S)-(−)-4]were then obtained in 45%,40%,41%and 38%yields,respectively,via resolution of the racemic compounds(RS)-(±)-1-4 with half equivalent of chiral acids.In addition,the enantiomerically enriched compounds(R)-(+)-1,(R)-(+)-2,(S)-(−)-3 and(R)-(+)-4 from the mother liquors were efficiently racemized via a one-pot redox method in almost quantitative yields.Ruiheng Zhu Zhangli Xu Wei Ding Shiling Liu Xiaoxin Shi Xia Lu 2014Chinese Journal of Chemistry2014,32,10:1

9Effect and mechanism of ferulic acid inclusion complexes on tyramine production by Enterobacter hormaechei MW386398 in smoked horsemeat sausages显示文摘Ferulic acid inclusion complexes(FA-HP-β-CD)effects on tyramine accumulation and gene expression of Enterobacter hormaechei MW386398 in traditional smoked horsemeat sausages were studied.Reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)was used to identify the expression of tyrosine decarboxylase(TDC)clusters in the tyramine producing pathway.In addition,relevant parameters such as microbial growth,moisture content,pH,and tyramine accumulation in pure cultures and during fermentation of smoked horsemeat sausages were evaluated.Ferulic acid(FA)and FA-HP-β-CD inclusion complexes both significantly decreased tyramine accumulation,as well as significantly inhibited tyrosine decarboxylase(tdcA)and tyrosine/tyramine antiporter(tyrP)genes expression(p<0.05).Furthermore,FA and FA-HP-β-CD inclusion complexes both reduced the number of Enterobacteriaceae in smoked horsemeat sausages,but did not alter the main microbiota.However,FA-HP-β-CD inclusion complexes exhibited stronger ability in hindering TDC related gene expression,reducing tyramine accumulation and antibacterial properties.These results indicate that FA-HP-β-CD inclusion complexes are able to reduce tyramine accumulation in smoked horsemeat sausages by inhibiting Enterobacteriaceae growth and gene expression.Yali Huang Honghong Yu Shiling Lu Liangjun Zou Zonggui Tang Tao Zeng Juan Tang 2022Food Bioscience2022,46,2:0
10Decoration of carbon encapsulated nitrogen-rich MoxN with few-layered MoSe2 nanosheets for high-performance sodium-ion storage显示文摘Transition metal nitrides have become the focus of research in sodium ion batteries(SIBs)due to their unique metal properties and high theoretical capacity.However,the low actual capacity is still the main bottleneck for their application.Herein,using Mo-aniline frameworks as precursors,the carbon encapsulated nitrogen-rich Mo_(x)N is decorated by few-layered MoSe_(2) nanosheets(MoSe_(2)@Mo_(x)N/C-I)after the facile calcinating,selenizing,and nitriding.The carbon encapsulation can effectively strengthen the structural stability of Mo_(x)N.The nitrogen-rich Mo_(x)N and decoration of few-layered MoSe_(2) can create rich heterointerfaces and extra active sites for rapid sodium-ion storage,thus promoting reaction kinetics and improving actual capacity.The MoSe_(2)@Mo_(x)N/C-I as an anode achieves a large reversible capacity of 522.8 mAh g^(-1)at 0.1 A g^(-1),and 254.3 mAh g^(-1)capacity is obtained after 6000 cycles at 5.0 A g^(-1),showing signally improved sodium-ion storage properties.The storage mechanisms and kinetic behaviors are described systematically via the advanced testing techniques and density functional theory(DFT)calculations.It is found that the nitrogen-rich Mo_(x)N as the substrate is the basis of long cycling stability,and the few-layered MoSe_(2) are the key to improving actual capacity.This work indicates that the decoration of few-layered selenides has a broad application prospect in high-performance metal-ion batteries.Tao Lu Baoquan Liu Fanyan Zeng Guo Cheng Shile Chu Meilan Xie Zhi Chen Zhaohui Hou 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,11:0
