| 1 | Ultrafine Grained HSLA Steels for Cold Forming显示文摘The industrial level production of ultrafine grained(or ultrafine ferrite)ferrous alloys was investigated through three examples of steels that complied with the EN 10149-2 Euronorm and were produced by advanced controlled hot rolling techniques.The steel samples were tension tested and chemically analyzed,and the microstructure was evaluated through quantitative metallographic techniques to determine parameters such as yield stress,amount of microalloying elements,strain hardening coefficient,grain size,and grain size distribution.These steels were microalloyed with Ti,Nb,and Mn with ASTM grain sizes of approximately 13-15.The careful control of chemical composition and deformation during production,giving a specific attention to the deformation sequences,austenite non-recrystallization temperatures and allotropic transformations during cooling,are indispensable to obtain steels with an adequate strain hardening coefficient that allows cold working operations such as bending,stretching or drawing. | R González J O García M A Barbés M J Quintana L F Verdeja J I Verdeja | 2010 | Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2010，17，10： | 7 |
| 2 | A pilot study of the modulation of sirtuins on arylamine N-acetyltransferase 1 and 2 enzymatic activity显示文摘Arylamine N-acetyltransferase(NAT; E.C. 2.3.1.5) enzymes are responsible for the biotransformation of several arylamine and hydrazine drugs by acetylation. In this process, the acetyl group transferred to the acceptor substrate produces NAT deacetylation and, in consequence, it is susceptible of degradation. Sirtuins are protein deacetylases, dependent on nicotine adenine dinucleotide,which perform post-translational modifications on cytosolic proteins. To explore possible sirtuin participation in the enzymatic activity of arylamine NATs, the expression levels of NAT1, NAT2,SIRT1 and SIRT6 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC) from healthy subjects were examined by flow cytometry and Western blot. The in situ activity of the sirtuins on NAT enzymatic activity was analyzed by HPLC, in the presence or absence of an agonist(resveratrol) and inhibitor(nicotinamide) of sirtuins. We detected a higher percentage of positive cells for NAT2 in comparison with NAT1, and higher numbers of SIRT1t cells compared to SIRT6 in lymphocytes. In situ NAT2 activity in the presence of NAM inhibitors was higher than in the presence of its substrate, but not in the presence ofresveratrol. In contrast, the activity of NAT1 was not affected by sirtuins. | 3 | Diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of gastrointestinal angiodysplasias: A critical review and view points显示文摘Gastrointestinal angiodysplasias (GIADs), also called angioectasias, are the most frequent vascular lesions. Its precise prevalence is unknown since most of them are asymptomatic. However, the incidence may be increasing since GIADs affect individuals aged more than 60 years and population life expectancy is globally increasing worldwide. They are responsible of about 5% to 10% of all gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) cases. Most GIADs are placed in small bowel, where are the cause of 50 to 60% of obscure GIB diagnosed with video capsule endoscopy. They may be the cause of fatal severe bleeding episodes;nevertheless, recurrent overt or occult bleeding episodes requiring repeated expensive treatments and disturbing patient’s quality-of-life are more frequently observed. Diagnosis and treatment of GIADs (particularly those placed in small bowel) are a great challenge due to insidious disease behavior, inaccessibility to affected sites and limitations of available diagnostic procedures. Hemorrhagic causality out of the actively bleeding lesions detected by diagnostic procedures may be difficult to establish. No treatment guidelines are currently available, so there is a high variability in the management of these patients. In this review, the epidemiology and pathophysiology of GIADs and the status in the diagnosis and treatment, with special emphasis on small bowel angiodysplasias based on multiple publications, are critically discussed. In addition, a classification of GIADs based on their endoscopic characteristics is proposed. | 4 | Accuracy of transnasal endoscopy with a disposable esophagoscope compared to conventional endoscopy显示文摘AIM: To assess feasibility of unsedated esophagoscopy using a small-caliber disposable transnasal esophagosco-py and to compare its accuracy with standard endoscopy.METHODS: We prospectively included subjects who were referred for upper endoscopy. All subjects un-derwent transnasal endoscopy with E.G. Scan^(TM). The disposable probe has a 3.6 mm gauge and at its distal end there is a 6 mm optical capsule, with a viewing angle of 125°. Patients underwent conventional endos-copy after the completion of E.G. Scan^(TM). We describe the findings detected by the E.G. Scan^(TM) and calculate the diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and Kappa index for esophageal diagnosis.RESULTS: A total of 96 patients(54 women), mean age of 50.12 years(14 to 79), were evaluated. In all cases we were able to perform esophagoscopy with E.G.Scan^(TM). The average realization time was 5 min. A total of 58 alterations were detected in the esophagus, 49 gastric abnormalities and 13 duodenal abnormalities. We found that for esophageal varices, E.G. Scan^(TM) has sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic accuracy of 95%, 97% and 97%, respectively. Kappa coefficients were 0.32 for hiatal hernia, 0.409 for erosive gastroesopha-geal reflux disease, 0.617 for Barrett's esophagus, and 0.909 for esophageal varices.CONCLUSION: Esophagoscopy with E.G. Scan? is a well-tolerated, fast and safe procedure.
