3Heterogeneity in susceptibility to polycystic ovary syndrome among women with epilepsy显示文摘Background Epilepsy comorbidities adversely affect the quality of life of patients.Women with epilepsy are at a high risk of comorbid endocrine disorders.Among them,the polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)has a threefold higher prevalence in women with epilepsy than in healthy women and is the main cause of infertility among the patients.Clinically,women with epilepsy show heterogeneity in the susceptibility to PCOS.This heterogeneity may be associated with genetic factor.Methods To test this,we retrospectively collected clinical data from 45 female patients with epilepsy and divided them into three groups according to their susceptibility to PCOS.Groups A and B represented a high susceptibility to PCOS.Patients in Group A were diagnosed with PCOS before their first seizure,while patients in Group B were diagnosed with PCOS after a short period of monotherapy with a low dose of antiseizure medication(ASM)following the diagnosis of epilepsy.Patients in Group C did not develop PCOS despite a prolonged treatment with high-dose ASM.We compared the clinical data and genetic profiles among the three groups.Results We found a clear trend of impaired metabolism in Group B patients and this may be associated with highfrequency mutations in MYO10 and ADGRL3.Conclusions Our study suggests that women with epilepsy are heterogeneous in the susceptibility to PCOS and this is associated with mutations in specific genes.Therefore,genetic screening should be conducted to screen for women with epilepsy who are more likely to have comorbid PCOS,so that they can receive targeted interventions at an early stage to reduce the risk.Leihao Sha Yiming Wu Wanlin Lai Yifei Duan Yilin Xia Lei Chen 2023Acta Epileptologica2023,6,2:0
4Mechanisms and influencing factors of the oil bank in fire flooding显示文摘Based on the systematic summary of current research on oil bank, the definition of oil bank in the process of fire flooding and its quantitative indices were proposed; and a new one-dimensional positive dry-fire flooding model considering temperature gradient was established based on the steady flow theory of gas and liquid phases. Single factor analysis and orthogonal experiments were adopted to verify the reliability and reveal the formation mechanisms and the controlling factors of the oil bank. Then the optimal conditions for the oil bank to form were discussed. The study results show the formation of the oil bank is controlled by 3 factors:(1) Oil bank would come into being within a certain temperature interval and above a critical value of temperature gradient(absolute value), with temperature too high or too low and temperature gradient absolute value lower than the critical value, the oil bank couldn't form.(2) For fire flooding process in heavy oil reservoirs, the viscosity of oil influences the width of oil bank and the speed at which oil bank forms; the lower the oil viscosity is, the wider the oil bank is and the faster the oil bank forms.(3) Oil saturation could affect the developing temperature and speed of oil bank. The favorable temperature at which oil bank develops gets lower and the accumulating speed of oil gets faster when the oil saturation is higher. 5Tracing neuronal tracts in theolfactory pathway of rat anddetecting ischemic core in arat model of focal ischemiausing manganese enhancedmagnetic resonance imaging显示文摘Manganese enhanced magnetic resonance im- aging (MRI) is a novel neuroimaging technique that can be used in vivo to trace neuronal tract and to study brain func- tions dynamically. In this study, manganese enhanced MRI was used to trace the neuronal tracts between the laminar structures of the olfactory bulb (OB) in rat and to study the so-called “calcium overload” phenomenon in a rat model of cerebral ischemia. High spatial resolution images of the OB were obtained and used to measure the transportation rate of Mn2+ among the laminar structures of the OB, which was shown to be approximately 0.2 mm/h under resting condition. In the rat focal ischemia study, it was found that the total area of brain regions with Mn2+ accumulation (representing brain regions with calcium overload) was only 55%±15% of the area of the ischemic brain regions shown by diffu- sion-weighted imaging (DWI). 6Synthesis and application of a novel waterborne polyurethane emulsion for sand fixation显示文摘Desertification is one of the severe ecological and environmental issues in the world today.Sand fixation against wind erosion is an effective solution to the problem.In the present study,a novel waterborne polyurethane emulsion was prepared as a sand-fixing agent.Lignin and polylactic acid were incorporated as a chain extender and soft segments,respectively.The structure,viscosity and thermal stability of the polyurethane emulsions were studied by FTIR,rheological testing and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The sand fixation properties of the waterborne polyurethane were evaluated in terms of the water retention,compressive strength,thermal stability and anti-wind erosion ability of sand crusts formed by spraying the emulsion on sands.With the increase of lignin content,both the water retention and compressive strength increased with the highest values of 39.22%and 1.13 MPa,respectively.All the sand specimens treated by the waterborne polyurethane presented good thermal stability and wind erosion resistance.Leihao Zheng Yan Xue Weilin Lin Jialing Li Sha Qian 2017Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts2017,2,3:0
