1Propagation of an electromagnetic soliton in an anisotropic biquadratic ferromagnetic medium显示文摘Information storage technology based on anisotropic ferromagnets with sufficiently high magneto-optical effects has received much attention in recent years.Magneto-optical recording combines the merits of magnetic and optical techniques.We investigate the magneto-optical effects on a biquadratic ferromagnet and show that the dynamics of the system are governed by a perturbed nonlinear Schro¨dinger equation.The evolutions of amplitude and velocity of the soliton are found to be time independent,thereby admitting the lossless propagation of the electromagnetic soliton in the medium,which may have potential applications in soliton based optical communication systems.We also exploit the role of perturbation,which has a significant impact on the propagation of an electromagnetic soliton.L.Kavitha M.Saravanan D.Gopi 2013Chinese Physics B2013,22,3:2
2New Rational Solutions for Relativistic Discrete Toda Lattice System显示文摘In the present work, we examine the soliton excitations in the relativistic Toda lattice model using the rotational expansion method, where the coupling between the lattice sites is varied. For specific choices of the coupling strength we proceed to analyze the nonlinear wave excitations arising in the model which are found to be dark, singular and periodic solitary wave profiles. 3Efect of Varying Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya Interaction on the Bistable Nano-Scale Soliton Switching显示文摘The efect of Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya(D-M) interaction on the bistable nano-scale soliton switching ofers the possiblity of developing a new innovative approach for data storage technology. The dynamics of Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin system is expressed in terms of generalized inhomogeneous higher order nonlinear Schro¨dinger(NLS) equation. 4Propagation of kink–antikink pair along microtubules as a control mechanism for polymerization and depolymerization processes显示文摘Among many types of proteinaceous filaments, microtubules(MTs) constitute the most rigid components of the cellular cytoskeleton. Microtubule dynamics is essential for many vital cellular processes such as intracellular transport,metabolism, and cell division. We investigate the nonlinear dynamics of inhomogeneous microtubulin systems and the MT dynamics is found to be governed by a perturbed sine-Gordon equation. In the presence of various competing nonlinear inhomogeneities, it is shown that this nonlinear model can lead to the existence of kink and antikink solitons moving along MTs. We demonstrate kink–antikink pair collision in the framework of Hirota's bilinearization method.
