| 1 | Investigation of rare earth sealing of porous micro-arc oxidation coating formed on AZ91D magnesium alloy显示文摘Magnesium and its alloys have been used in many industries, but they are reactive and require protection against aggressive envi-ronments. In this study, oxide coatings were applied on AZ91D magnesium alloy using micro-arc oxidation (MAO) process. Then, in order to seal the pores of the MAO coatings, the samples were immersed in cerium bath for different times. The surface morphologies and composi-tions of the coatings were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), respectively. The corrosion behavior of the coatings was investigated with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polariza-tion tests in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. The amount of the porosity of the coating was measured by electrochemical method. It was found that the sealing treatments by immersion in cerium bath successfully sealed the pores of the MAO coatings. The results of the corrosion tests showed that the MAO coating which was sealed in Ce bath for 10 min enhanced the corrosion resistance of the substrate significantly. | 2 | Antioxidant effects of aqueous extract of Salep on Paraquat-induced rat liver injury显示文摘AIM To evaluate the effects of aqueous extract of Salep on Paraquat-mediated liver injury.METHODS In this experimental study, 56 adult male Wistar rats were divided randomly to 7 groups as control, sham, and 5 experimental groups. In control group, rats did not receive any substance during experiment. In Sham group, rats were given distilled water according to their body weight and in experimental groups, Paraquat alone and with different doses of Salep aqueous extract(40, 80, 160 and 320 mg/kg) was given intraperitoneal daily for 14 d. After that, liver biochemical parameter and histologic changes were analyzed and compared in different groups. RESULTS Paraquat compared to control and sham groups, significantly(P < 0.05) increased serum level of alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alkaline phosphatase(ALP), bilirubin, malondialdehyde(MDA) and total oxidant capacity(TOC); while level of total protein, albumin and total antioxidant capacity(TAC) were remarkably decreased by Paraquat. Salep at doses of 80, 160 and 320 mg/kg significantly decreased serum level of ALT, AST, ALP, bilirubin, MDA and TOC and significantly increased total protein, albumin and TAC level as compared to Paraquat exposed group in dose dependent manner. Aqueous extract of Salep at doses of 40 mg/kg made no significant changes in serum level of mentioned biochemical parameters. Liver microscopic observation revealed that Paraquat could cause hepatocyte necrosis, degenerative changes, proliferation and activation of Kupffer cells(sporadically) which were reduced by Salep treatment. | 3 | Prevalence of shiga toxins(stx_1,stx_2),eaeA and hly genes of Escherichia coli O157:H7 strains among children with acute gastroenteritis in southern of Iran显示文摘Objective:To survey the prevalence severe diarrhea arising from these bacteria in children under 5 years old in Marvdasht.Methods:In this study faecal sample from 615 children aged <5years old who were hospitalized lor gastroenteritis in Fars hospitals in Iran were collected and then enriched in Escherichia coli(E.coli) broth and modified tryplone soy broth with novobiocin media,fermentation of sorbitol,lactose and β— glucoronidase activity of isolated strains was examined by CT—SMAC,VRBA and chromogenic media respectively.Then isolation of E.coli O157:H7 have been confirmed with the use of specific antisera and with multiplex PCR method presence of virulence genes including:xtx_1.stx_2,eae.A.hly has been analyzed.Results:E.coli O157:H7 was detected in 7(1.14%) stool specimens.A significanl difference was seen between detection rale of isolated bacteria from age groups 18-23 months and other age groups(P=0.004).Out of considered virulence genes.only 1 of the isolated strains(0.16%)he stx,and eaeA genes were seen and also all isolated hacleria had resistance to penicillin,ampicillin and erythromycin antibiotics.Conclusions:We found thai children < 2 years of age were at highest risk of infection with E.coli O157:H7.Regarding severity of E.coli O157:H7 pathogenesis,low infectious dose and lack of routine assay for detection ol these bacleria in clinical laboratory,further and completed studies on diagnosis and genolyping of this E.coli O157:H7 strain has been recommended. | Mohammad Kargar Maryam Homayoon | 2015 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2015，8，1： | 2 |
| 4 | Effects of replacing steam-flaked corn with shredded sugar beet pulp on feed sorting, behavior, blood metabolites, and growth performance of dairy calves显示文摘This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of partial replacement of steam-flaked corn(SFC)with shredded sugar beet pulp(SBP)in the starter diet on selective intake(sorting),feeding and chewing behavior,blood biochemical parameters,and growth in newborn female Holstein dairy calves.A total of 48 calves(3 d old;40.1±0.84 kg body weight;mean±SE)were randomly assigned to 1 of 2 feeding treatments containing 0 or 25%SBP(percentage of dry matter[DM])in the starter diet.Calves were weaned on d 61 and remained in the study until d 81.Intake of starter feed and total intake of DM(milk DM+starter feed DM),crude protein,and neutral detergent fiber were increased(P<0.05)by feeding SBP;however,intake of starch(P<0.01)and total intake of ether extract(P=0.03)were decreased with no apparent effect on total intake of ME.Average daily gain,feed efficiency,final weight,and skeletal growth also showed no significant changes.Circulating concentrations of glucose,total protein,and albumin were not affected by partial replacement of SBP with SFC;however,higher concentrations of blood urea-N(P=0.01)and a lower albumin-to-globulin ratio(P=0.03)were observed in SBP-vs.SFC-fed calves.Calves fed SBP sorted more for particles retained on the 4.75-mm sieve(P=0.02)and against particles retained on the 0.6-mm sieve and bottom pan(P<0.01).Intake of neutral detergent fibers and starch from particles retained on all sieve fractions was increased and decreased(P<0.01),respectively,by replacing SFC with SBP.Replacement of SBP with SFC was associated with increased meal length and meal size and increased rumination frequency and length,but decreased intervals between rumination(P≤0.01).Calves fed SBP spent more time eating,rumination,and standing and less time lying and non-nutritive oral behaviors(P<0.01).In general,25%replacement of SFC with SBP did not affect calf performance but increased time spent rumination and eating and decreased non-nutritive oral behaviors. | Shahryar Kargar Zohre Kowsar Mehdi Poorhamdollah Meysam Kanani Kianoosh Asasi Morteza H.Ghaffari | 2021 | Animal Nutrition2021，，4： | 2 |
