| 1 | 不同保护性耕作措施对旱作农田土壤水分的影响显示文摘研究了黄土高原西部旱农区传统耕作措施和五种保护性耕作措施对土壤水分垂直分布、动态变化、作物耗水量、水分利用效率及作物产量的影响.结果表明,不同保护性耕作措施对表层0~10cm土壤水分含量影响较大,免耕秸秆覆盖(NTS)在作物播种期可以显著增加播种期表层土壤含水量.0~200cm土壤剖面贮水量年变化分春夏作物旺盛生长失墒期(5月中旬~7月中旬)、夏秋雨季增墒期(7月中旬~10月下旬)和冬春稳墒期(11月~翌年5月上旬)3个阶段.尽管不同保护性耕作措施对0~200cm剖面贮水量影响不大,但作物耗水量却存在显著差异.免耕秸秆覆盖在增加作物耗水量的同时也提高了作物产量以及水分利用效率.地膜覆盖在有些年份也有利于降水的高效利用和作物产量的提高,但与秸秆覆盖相比不利于土壤肥力的持续提高.而且,如果种植小麦,出苗前若一次性降水较多时地膜覆盖将造成严重板结,影响出苗,进而降低产量和水分利用效率.因此,在黄土高原西部旱农区实施免耕+秸秆覆盖的保护性耕作措施,既有利于作物对有限降水的高效利用,提高作物产量,也可以促进农业可持续发展. | 李玲玲 黄高宝 张仁陟 晋小军 Guangdi LI Kwong Yin CHAN | 2005 | 生态学报2005,25,9: | 160 |

| 6 | Role of LPS/CD14/TLR4-mediated inflammation in necrotizing enterocolitis:Pathogenesis and therapeutic implications显示文摘AIM:To establish the roles of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)/CD14/toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)-mediated inflammation in a rat model of human necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC).METHODS: Six pairs of intestinal samples from human NEC were collected before and after recovery for histological and molecular analysis of inflammatory cytokines and signaling components. In the rat NEC model, we isolated 10-cm jejunum segments and divided them into six groups (n=6) for sham operation, treatment with LPS, bowel distension, combined bowel distension and LPS stimulation, and two therapeutic groups. The potential eff icacy of a recombinant CD18 peptide and a monoclonal CD14 antibody was evaluated in the latter two groups. The serum and tissue levels of several inflammatory mediators were quantified by real-time polymerase chain reaction, ELISA and immunoblotting.RESULTS: Human acute phase NEC tissues displayed significant increases (P<0.05) in levels of TLR4, CD14, myeloid differentiation protein (MD)-2, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and nuclear factor-κB when compared to those after recovery. The histological and inflammatory picture of human NEC was reproduced in rats that were treated with combined bowel distension and LPS, but not in the sham-operated and other control rats. Serum levels of interleukin-6 and TNF-α were also elevated. The NEC pathology was attenuated by treating the NEC rats with a monoclonal CD14 antibody or an LPS-neutralizing peptide.CONCLUSION:LPS and distension are required to produce the histological and inflammatory features of NEC. There are many nomenclatures surrounding conservation agriculture and differ to each other lightly. Conservation agriculture (CA) is a system approach to soil and water conservation, high crop productivity and profitability, in one word, it is a system approach to sustainable agriculture. Yet, because conservation agriculture is a knowledge-intensive and a complex system to learn and implement, and also because of traditions of intensive cultivation, adoption rates have been low, since to date, only about seven percent of the world's arable and permanent cropland area is farmed under conservation agriculture. The practice and wider extention of conservation agriculture thus requires a deeper understanding of its ecological underpinnings in order to manage its various elements for sustainable intensification, where the aim is to conserve soil and water and improve sustainability over the long term. | 9 | Management of granulomatous lobular mastitis: an international multidisciplinary consensus(2021 edition)显示文摘Granulomatous lobular mastitis(GLM) is a rare and chronic benign inflammatory disease of the breast. Difficulties exist in the management of GLM for many front-line surgeons and medical specialists who care for patients with inflammatory disorders of the breast. This consensus is summarized to establish evidence-based recommendations for the management of GLM. Literature was reviewed using PubMed from January 1, 1971 to July 31, 2020. Sixty-six international experienced multidisciplinary experts from 11 countries or regions were invited to review the evidence.Levels of evidence were determined using the American College of Physicians grading system, and recommendations were discussed until consensus. Experts discussed and concluded 30 recommendations on historical definitions,etiology and predisposing factors, diagnosis criteria, treatment, clinical stages, relapse and recurrence of GLM. GLM was recommended as a widely accepted definition. In addition, this consensus introduced a new clinical stages and management algorithm for GLM to provide individual treatment strategies. In conclusion, diagnosis of GLM depends on a combination of history, clinical manifestations, imaging examinations, laboratory examinations and pathology.The approach to treatment of GLM should be applied according to the different clinical stage of GLM. Dyslipidemia and its related disorders, including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD), obesity and other metabolic diseases, are of increasing public health concern due to their increasing prevalence in the population. Besides their well-characterized functions in cholesterol homoeostasis and nutrient absorption, bile acids are also important metabolic regulators and function as signaling hormones by activating specific nuclear receptors, G-protein coupled receptors, and multiple signaling pathways. Recent studies identified a new signaling pathway by which conjugated bile acids(CBA) activate the extracellular regulated protein kinases(ERK1/2) and protein kinase B(AKT) signaling pathway via sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 2(S1PR2). CBA-induced activation of S1PR2 is a key regulator of sphingosine kinase 2(Sph K2) andhepatic gene expression. | 12 | Abnormal subchondral bone remodeling and its association with articular cartilage degradation in knees of type 2 diabetes patients显示文摘Type 2 diabetes(T2 D) is associated with systemic abnormal bone remodeling and bone loss. Meanwhile,abnormal subchondral bone remodeling induces cartilage degradation, resulting in osteoarthritis(OA).Accordingly, we investigated alterations in subchondral bone remodeling, microstructure and strength in knees from T2 D patients and their association with cartilage degradation. Tibial plateaus were collected from knee OA patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty and divided into non-diabetic(n = 70) and diabetes(n = 51) groups. Tibial plateaus were also collected from cadaver donors(n = 20) and used as controls.Subchondral bone microstructure was assessed using micro-computed tomography. Bone strength was evaluated by micro-finite-element analysis. Cartilage degradation was estimated using histology. The expression of tartrate-resistant acidic phosphatase(TRAP), osterix, and osteocalcin were calculated using immunohistochemistry. Osteoarthritis Research Society International(OARSI) scores of lateral tibial plateau did not differ between non-diabetic and diabetes groups, while higher OARSI scores on medial side were detected in diabetes group. Lower bone volume fraction and trabecular number and higher structure model index were found on both sides in diabetes group. These microstructural alterations translated into lower elastic modulus in diabetes group. Moreover, diabetes group had a larger number of TRAP^+ osteoclasts and lower number of Osterix^+ osteoprogenitors and Osteocalcin^+ osteoblasts. T2 D knees are characterized by abnormal subchondral bone remodeling and microstructural and mechanical impairments, which were associated with exacerbated cartilage degradation. | 14 | Comparative genomic hybridization analysis of genetic aberrations associated with development of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in Henan, China显示文摘AIM: To characterize cytogenetic alterations in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and its metastasis. METHODS: A total of 37 cases of primary ESCC and 15 pairs of primary ESCC tumors and their matched metastatic lymph nodes cases were enrolled from Linzhou, the high incidence area for ESCC in Henan, northern China. The comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) was applied to determine the chromosomal aberrations on the DNA extracted from the frozen ESCC and metastatic lymph node samples from these patients. RESULTS: CGH showed chromosomal aberrations in all the cases. In 37 cases of primary ESCC, chromosomal profile of DNA copy number was characterized by frequently detected gains at 8q (29/37, 78%), 3q (24/37, 65%), 5p (19/37, 51%); and frequently detected losses at 3p (21/37, 57%), 8p and 9q (14/37, 38%). In 15 pairs of primary ESCC tumors and their matched metastatic lymph node cases, the majority of the chromosomal aberrations in both primary tumor and metastatic lymph node lesions were consistent with the primary ESCC cases, but new candidate regions of interest were also detected. The most significant finding is the gains of chromosome 6p with a minimum high-level amplification region at 6p12-6q12 in 7 metastatic lymph nodes butonly in 2 corresponding primary tumors (P = 0.05) and 20p with a minimum high-level amplification region at 20p12 in 11 metastatic lymph nodes but only in 5 corresponding primary tumors (P < 0.05). Another interesting finding is the loss of chromosome 10p and 10q in 8 and 7 metastatic lymph nodes but only in 2 corresponding primary tumors (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Using the CGH technique to detect chromosomal aberrations in both the primary tumor and its metastatic lymph nodes of ESCC, gains of 8q, 3q and 5p and loss of 3p, 8p, 9q and 13q were specifically implicated in ESCC in Linzhou population. Gains of 6p and 20p and loss of 10pq may contribute to the lymph node metastasis of ESCC. | 17 | A GLP-1 analog lowers ER stress and enhances protein folding to ameliorate homocysteine-induced endothelial dysfunction显示文摘Hyperhomocysteinemia(HHcy)is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and increases mortality in type 2 diabetic patients.HHcy induces endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress and oxidative stress to impair endothelial function.The glucagon-like peptide 1(GLP-1)analog exendin-4 attenuates endothelial ER stress,but the detailed vasoprotective mechanism remains elusive.The present study investigated the beneficial effects of exendin-4 against HHcy-induced endothelial dysfunction.Exendin-4 pretreatment reversed homocysteine-induced impairment of endothelium-dependent relaxations in C57BL/6 mouse aortae ex vivo.Four weeks subcutaneous injection of exendin-4 restored the impaired endothelial function in both aortae and mesenteric arteries isolated from mice with diet-induced HHcy.Exendin-4 treatment lowered superoxide anion accumulation in the mouse aortae both ex vivo and in vivo.Exendin-4 decreased the expression of ER stress markers(e.g.,ATF4,spliced XBP1,and phosphorylated eIF2α)in human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs),and this change was reversed by cotreatment with compound C(CC)(AMPK inhibitor).Exendin-4 induced phosphorylation of AMPK and endothelial nitric oxide synthase in HUVECs and arteries.Exendin-4 increased the expression of endoplasmic reticulum oxidoreductase(ERO1α),an important ER chaperone in endothelial cells,and this effect was mediated by AMPK activation.Experiments using siRNA-mediated knockdown or adenoviral overexpression revealed that ERO1αmediated the inhibitory effects of exendin-4 on ER stress and superoxide anion production,thus ameliorating HHcy-induced endothelial dysfunction.The present results demonstrate that exendin-4 reduces HHcy-induced ER stress and improves endothelial function through AMPK-dependent ERO1αupregulation in endothelial cells and arteries.AMPK activation promotes the protein folding machinery in endothelial cells to suppress ER stress. | Chak Kwong Cheng Jiang-Yun Luo Chi Wai Lau William Chi-shing Cho Chi Fai Ng Ronald Ching Wan Ma Xiao Yu Tian Yu Huang | 2021 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,10: | 6 |
| 18 | A cross-sectional study on compliance with topical glaucoma medication and its associated socioeconomic burden for a Chinese population显示文摘AIM: To estimate the overall drug compliance for local Chinese glaucoma patients on long-term topical treatment.METHODS: This was a retrospective cross-sectional study.Fifty-seven primary glaucoma patients from the subspecialty clinic of a publicly-funded tertiary care hospital in Hong Kong completed a questionnaire on compliance with topical glaucoma medication,attitude towards glaucoma and therapy and vision related quality of life.Noncompliance was defined as reporting missing more than or equal to 10% of the prescribed topical glaucoma medication during the 2wk immediately prior to the consultation.Relationships between noncompliance and demographics,attitude,disease and treatment status was studied.Cost was estimated with quality of life and direct medical cost involved with noncompliance.Multivariable logistic regression on noncompliance was performed on selected factors.RESULTS: Compliance was calculated as 75%(95% CI: 64%-87%) among 57 subjects(mean age 69 y,female 51%).No statistical significant relationship was established between noncompliance and any single factors or outcomes.Age(P=0.048) and forgetfulness(P=0.064) were found to be marginally significant predictive factors on noncompliance in multivariable logistic regression.Noncompliance might be related(P=0.130) to poorer self-rated vision-associated quality of life.The societal cost of noncompliance was estimated to be over 2510 life-years and US$ 3.7 million territory-wide.CONCLUSION: The compliance of Chinese glaucoma patients in Hong Kong is comparable to other parts in the world,and carries detrimental impacts on individual and societal levels.Age and forgetfulness are two possible independent predictors for noncompliance. | Man-Hin Lui Jason Chun Ho Lam Yi Lee Kwong Tak Siu Wong Pak Long Cheung Sherri Shun Yan Lai Pak Lun Yuen Wai Yiu Lam Ho Yan Chan Yiu Fai Wong Jimmy Shiu Ming Lai Kendrick Co Shih | 2017 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2017,10,2: | 5 |
| 19 | Profiles and removal efficiency of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by two different types of sewage treatment plants in Hong Kong显示文摘Sewage discharge could be a major source of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) in the coastal waters. Stonecutters Island and Shatin Sewage Treatment Works(SCISTW and STSTW)in Hong Kong, adopted chemically enhanced primary treatment and biological treatment,respectively. This study aimed at(1) determining the removal efficiencies of PAHs,(2) comparing the capabilities in removing PAHs, and(3) characterizing the profile of each individual PAHs, in the two sewage treatment plants(STPs). Quantification of 16 PAHs was conducted by a Gas Chromatography. The concentrations of total PAHs decreased gradually along the treatment processes(from 301 ± 255 and 307 ± 217 ng/L to 14.9 ± 12.1 and 63.3 ± 54.1 ng/L in STSTW and SCISTW, respectively). It was noted that STSTW was more capable in removing total PAHs than SCISTW with average total removal efficiency 94.4% ± 4.12% vs. 79.2% ± 7.48%(p < 0.05). The removal of PAHs was probably due to sorption in particular matter, confirmed by the higher distribution coefficient of individual and total PAHs in solid samples(dewatered sludge contained92.5% and 74.7% of total PAHs in SCISTW and STSTW, respectively) than liquid samples(final effluent-total contained 7.53% and 25.3% of total PAHs in STSTW and SCISTW, respectively).Despite the impressive capability of STSTW and SCISTW in removing PAHs, there was still a considerable amount of total PAHs(1.85 and 39.3 kg/year, respectively for the two STPs) being discharged into Hong Kong coastal waters, which would be an environmental concern. | Yu Bon Man Ka Lai Chow Zhang Cheng Wing Yin Mo Yung Hau Chan James Chung Wah Lam Frankie Tat Kwong Lau Wing Cheong Fung Ming Hung Wong | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,3: | 5 |
