| 2 | Calculation of maximum surface settlement induced by EPB shield tunnelling and introducing most effective parameter显示文摘This study aims to predict ground surface settlement due to shallow tunneling and introduce the most affecting parameters on this phenomenon.Based on data collected from Shanghai LRT Line 2 project undertaken by TBM-EPB method,this research has considered the tunnel's geometric,strength,and operational factors as the dependent variables.At first,multiple regression(MR) method was used to propose equations based on various parameters.The results indicated the dependency of surface settlement on many parameters so that the interactions among different parameters make it impossible to use MR method as it leads to equations of poor accuracy.As such,adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS),was used to evaluate its capabilities in terms of predicting surface settlement.Among generated ANFIS models,the model with all input parameters considered produced the best prediction,so as its associated R^2 in the test phase was obtained to be 0.957.The equations and models in which operational factors were taken into consideration gave better prediction results indicating larger relative effect of such factors.For sensitivity analysis of ANFIS model,cosine amplitude method(CAM) was employed; among other dependent variables,fill factor of grouting(n) and grouting pressure(P) were identified as the most affecting parameters. | Sayed Rahim Moeinossadat Kaveh Ahangari Kourosh Shahriar | 2016 | Journal of Central South University2016,23,12: | 6 |
| 3 | Predicting crest settlement in concrete face rockfill dams using adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system and gene expression programming intelligent methods显示文摘This paper deals with the estimation of crest settlement in a concrete face rockfill dam (CFRD), utilizing intelligent methods. Following completion of dam construction, considerable movements of the crest and the body of the dam can develop during the first impoundment of the reservoir. Although there is vast experience worldwide in CFRD design and construction, few accurate experimental relationships are available to predict the settlement in CFRD. The goal is to advance the development of intelligent methods to estimate the subsidence of dams at the design stage. Due to dam zonification and uncertainties in material properties, these methods appear to be the appropriate choice. In this study, the crest settlement behavior of CFRDs is analyzed based on compiled data of 24 CFRDs constructed during recent years around the world, along with the utilization of gene expression programming (GEP) and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) methods. In addition, dam height (H), shape factor (S f ), and time (t, time after first operation) are also assessed, being considered major factors in predicting the settlement behavior. From the relationships proposed, the values of R 2 for both equations of GEP (with and without constant) were 0.9603 and 0.9734, and for the three approaches of ANFIS (grid partitioning (GP), subtractive clustering method (SCM), and fuzzy c-means clustering (FCM)) were 0.9693, 0.8657, and 0.8848, respectively. Combined delivery of cells together with various information molecules as therapeutic agents has the potential to enhance, modulate or even initiate local or systemic repair processes, increasing stem cell efficiency for regenerative medicine applications. Stem-cell-mediated delivery of genes, proteins or small molecules takes advantage of the innate capability of stem cells to migrate and home to injury sites. As the native migratory properties are affected by in vitro expansion, the existent methods for enhancing stem cell targeting capabilities(modified culture methods, genetic modification, cell surface engineering) are described. The role of various nanoparticles in eq-uipping stem cells with therapeutic small molecules is revised together with their class-specific advantages and shortcomings. | 8 | Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection-Associated Mortality during Pulmonary Tuberculosis Treatment in Six Provinces of China显示文摘Objective To investigate the risk factors attributable to tuberculosis-related deaths in areas with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) infection epidemics. Methods A prospective cohort study of newly registered patients in tuberculosis(TB) dispensaries in six representative Chinese provinces was conducted from September 1, 2009 to August 31, 2011. Risk factors for TB-associated death were identified through logistic regression analysis. Results Of 19,103 newly registered pulmonary TB patients, 925(4.8%) were found to be HIV-positive. Miliary TB and acid-fast bacillus smear-negative TB were more common among these patients. Out of a total of 322(1.7%) deaths that occurred during TB treatment, 85(26%) of the patients were co-infected with HIV. Multivariate analysis revealed that HIV infection was the strongest predictor of death [adjusted odds ratio(aO R) 7.86]. Other significant mortality risk factors included presentation with miliary TB(aO R 4.10; 95% confidence interval: 2.14-7.88), ≥35 years of age(aO R 3.04), non-Han ethnicity(aO R 1.67), and farming as an occupation(aO R 1.59). For patients with TB/HIV co-infection, miliary TB was the strongest risk factor for death(aO R 5.48). A low CD4 count(≤ 200 cells/μL)(aO R 3.27) at the time of TB treatment initiation and a lack of antiretroviral therapy(ART) administration(aO R 3.78) were also correlated with an increased risk of death. Conclusion Infection with HIV was independently associated with increased mortality during TB treatment. | 10 | A comparative study of three different learning algorithms applied to ANFIS for predicting daily suspended sediment concentration显示文摘The modeling and prediction of suspended sediment in a river are key elements in global water recourses and environment policy and management. In the present study, an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System model trained with the Levenberg-Marquardt learning algorithm is considered for time series modeling of suspended sediment concentration in a river. The model is trained and validated using daily river discharge and suspended sediment concentration data from the Schuylkill River in the United States. The results of the proposed method are evaluated and compared with similar networks trained with the common Hybrid and Back-Propagation algorithms, which are widely used in the literature for prediction of suspended sediment concentration. | 13 | Cutaneous leishmaniasis in Iran: Results from an epidemiological study in urban and rural provinces显示文摘Objective: To examine the prevalence and clinical manifestations of cutaneous leishmaniasis(CL) in Iran.Methods: This study was conducted in Iran between 2011 and 2013. Sampling, preparing, developing, and fixing of suspicious skin lesions were completed in healthcare centers in 31 Iranian provinces as well as in the Academic Reference Laboratory and the National Reference Laboratory. The information was then analyzed at the Ministry of Health's Information Management Center of Contagious Diseases.Results: Over a three-year period, the number of people identified with CL was 56 546.The highest incidence was reported in 2011(27.5 per 100 000). Wet CL accounted for 43.7% of cases while 43.3% resulted from sporotrichoid leishmaniasis. The results showed that there was a higher incidence of CL due to Leishmania major(50.2%) than to Leishmania tropica. The results of this study found that the highest incidence of CL had happened respectively in Ilam, Fars and, Khorasan Razavi Provinces between 2011 and 2013.Conclusions: Although the incidence of the disease is declining, CL is still a public health concern and disease control protocols need to be established. This is demonstrated for estimation of creep rupture failure probability in station blackout severe accident of a 2-loop PWR, which is the representative case for high pressure sequences. MELCOR 1.8.6 code is employed here as the deterministic tool for the assessment of physical phenomena in the course of accident.
