1Broadband photonic radio frequency(RF) channelization based on coherent optical frequency combs and polarization I/Q demodulation显示文摘In this work,we analyze and demonstrate a novel photonic-assisted broadband and high-resolution radio frequency(RF) channelization scheme based on dual coherent optical frequency combs(OFCs),regular optical de-muxes,and polarization I/Q demodulators in theory and experiment.The use of two coherent combs avoids precise optical alignment,and a numerical filter in digital signal processor(DSP) enables an ideal rectangular frequency response in each channel without any ultra-narrow optical filters.Besides,due to the use of polarization I/Q demodulation,ambiguous frequency estimate in direct detection can be avoided and the amplitude,phase mismatch in traditional I/Q demodulation can be mitigated.In experiment,we use two coherent OFCs with the free spectrum range(FSR) of about 40 GHz to demonstrate the channelization scheme with seven channels,500 MHz channel spacing and frequency coverage from 3.75 GHz to 7.25 GHz.The input RF tones are accurately down-converted to an intermediate frequency(IF) with a maximum frequency error of 110 kHz.Meanwhile,crosstalk and spurious free dynamic range(SFDR) of the scheme are also discussed.DAI YiTang XU Kun XIE XiaoJun YAN Li WANG RuiXin LIN JinTong 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,7:5
2Microwave photonics: radio-over-fiber links, systems, and applications [Invited]显示文摘Microwave photonics(MWPs)uses the strength of photonic techniques to generate,process,control,and distribute microwave signals,combining the advantages of microwaves and photonics.As one of the main topics of MWP,radio-over-fiber(RoF)links can provide features that are very difficult or even impossible to achieve with traditional technologies.Meanwhile,a considerable number of signal-processing subsystems have been carried out in the field of MWP as they are instrumental for the implementation of many functionalities.However,there are still several challenges in strengthening the performance of the technology to support systems and applications with more complex structures,multiple functionality,larger bandwidth,and larger processing capability.In this paper,we identify some of the notable challenges in MWP and review our recent work.Applications and future direction of research are also discussed.Kun Xu Ruixin Wang Yitang Dai Feifei Yin Jianqiang Li Yuefeng Ji Jintong Lin 2014Photonics Research2014,2,4:4

5Multi-layer network architecture in support of end-to-end transparent optical connectivities显示文摘In order to effectively accommodate a wide variety of emerging and future applications with diverse requirements, an intelligent optical network capable of the rapid and resilient delivery of on-demand transparent transmission capacity is required. This paper investigates a multi-layer network architecture where a generalized multiple protocol label switching (GMPLS) controlled transparent wavelength switched optical network (WSON), as the transport core, collaborates with multiple client optical burst switching (OBS) networks distributed at the edge. Dynamic interworking mechanism as well as the related signaling/routing protocol ex- tensions for multi-QoS burst streams transmission among different OBS domains are proposed so as to provision an end-to-end (e2e) transparent optical connectivity with on-demand bandwidth to end-users. Moreover, the survivability of this transparent optical connectivity is also addressed. 7Dynamic call and connection admission control in automatically switched optical network for grid computing applications显示文摘In recent years,Grid computing applications are becoming more and more important to the scientific and business communities and are likely to open to the consumer market and widely develop in the near future,which is a great challenge brought by the potentially large number of Grid users(perhaps millions)and high frequency of their job requests.Automatically switched optical network(ASON),which is a promising high capacity intelligent transport network infrastructure,has been already deployed in the world and regarded as a promising solution to foster the expansion of Grid computing from local area networks to wide area networks.However,by theoretical analysis and simulative evaluation of Grid job blocking in the distributed call and connection setup process of ASON,this paper verifies that ASON and the conventional admission control mechanism confront a problem in supporting future large-scale Grid computing.In order to address this issue,a novel dynamic call and connection admission control(DCCAC)scheme is proposed to improve the network performance and guarantee quality of service(QoS)of Grid applications.This scheme is applicable with complete network information,no network information and partial network information.Numerical results show that the DCCAC scheme can improve the efficiency of the network to a great extent.Moreover,all the analysis and algorithms in this paper are based on ITU-T ASON recommendations,which make the DCCAC scheme more applicable in network engineering for future Grid computing.LIU Lei GUO HongXiang HONG XiaoBin WU Jian LIN JinTong 2012Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,2:1

12Unloading-induced permeability recovery in rock fractures显示文摘Underground space creation and energy extraction, which induce unloading on rock fractures, commonly occur in various rock engineering projects, and rock engineering projects are subjected to high temperatures with increasing depth. Fluid flow behavior of rock fractures is a critical issue in many subsurface rock engineering projects. Previous studies have extensively considered permeability evolution in rock fractures under loading phase, whereas changes in fracture permeability under unloading phase have not been fully understood. To examine the unloading-induced changes in fracture permeability under different temperatures, we performed water flow-through tests on fractured rock samples subjected to decreasing confining pressures and different temperatures. The experimental results show that the permeability of fracture increases with unloading of confining pressure but decreases with loading-unloading cycles. Temperature may affect fracture permeability when it is higher than a certain threshold. An empirical model of fracture hydraulic aperture including two material parameters of initial normal stiffness and maximum normal closure can well describe the permeability changes in rough rock fracture subjected to loading-unloading cycles and heating. 14Dual-Wavelength Linearization of Radio-over-Fiber Link for Broadband Access and Ubiquitous Sensing显示文摘Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) technologies have been considered to be a promising solution to broadband access and ubiquitous sensing. We present a novel approach using dual-wavelength lights to suppress the nonlinear intermodulation distortion in intensity-modulated RoF link both theoretically and experimentally. The system we proposed mainly consists of two Laser Diodes (LDs) at different wavelengths, a commercial available Mach-Zehnder Modulator (MZM) and a Photo Detector (PD). More than 25 dB suppression of the Third-order Intermodulation Distortion (IMD3) is achieved by adjusting the wavelength and optical power of the laser. 15Integration of biocompatible organic resistive memory and photoresistor for wearable image sensing application显示文摘The integration of multiple functional devices to achieve complex functions has become an essential requirement for future wearable biomedical electronic devices and systems. In this paper, we present a flexible multi-functional device composed of a biocompatible organic polymer resistive random-access memory(RRAM) and a photoresistor for wearable image sensing application. The resistive layer of organic polymer RRAM is composed by polychloro-para-xylylene(parylene-C), which is a flexible, transparent, biocompatibility and chemical stability polymer material. What is more, parylene-C is quite safe to be used within human body as it is a Food and Drug Administration(FDA)-approved material. This organic RRAM shows stable switching characteristics, low operation voltages(3.25 V for set voltage and-0.55 V for reset voltage), low static power consumption, high storage window and good retention properties(>10~4 s).A multi-functional device that can detect the light intensity of incident light and simultaneously store the information in the memory devices for wearable image sensing application was proposed and fabricated by integrating the organic resistive memory and a photoresistor. The threshold of incident light intensity can be easily adjust by changing the external voltage. 17Heterodyne mixing and polarization diversity techniques in radio over fiber system with high sensitivity and dispersion tolerance显示文摘We propose and experimentally demonstrate the heterodyne mixing and polarization diversity tech- niques in radio over fiber (ROF) systems with the advantages of high sensitivity and dispersion endurance. The generation of 2.5 Gb/s optical DPSK and PSK signals, fiber propagation and wireless transmission over 15 GHz subcarrier are illustrated with very low sensitivity of -26 and -32 dBm, respectively.
