| 1 | Chronic fatigue syndrome treated by the traditional Chinese proce-dure abdominal tuina:a randomized controlled clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of the traditional Chinese procedure abdominal Tuina(AT) on chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS).METHODS: This randomized, single assessor-blinded clinical trial was carried out from May 2014 to April 2015. Eighty participants in the trial were divided randomly into two groups: experimental group and control. The experimental group(40 cases) was treated by AT and the control group(40 cases) by acupuncture. Each treatment was conducted once a day, 5 d for one course, at an interval of 2 d between each course. The whole treatment course lasted for 4 weeks. To ascertain the effect of AT and acupuncture, Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14), Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HAMD) scores were used before and after treatment. Patients were followed up for3 months after treatment.RESULTS: After treatment for 4 weeks, 77 patients(39 cases in the experimental group and 38 cases in the control group) completed the trial. The FS-14,SAS and HAMD scores decreased(P < 0.05) significantly compared with those before treatment in both groups. The FS-14 and HAMD(P < 0.05) scores in the experimental group were much lower than those in the control group. The difference in SAS scores between the two groups was not significant.In the final follow-up, CFS in two cases in the experimental group and three in the control group recurred, but the difference was not significant. | 6 | Resveratrol Induces Apoptosis in Human Osteosarcoma MG63 Cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE To investigate apoptosis in human osteosarcoma MG63 cells induced by resveratrol and the molecular mechanism involved.METHODS MG63 cells were treated with different concentrations of resveratrol and transmission electron microscopy was used to observe morphological changes occurring in apoptosis.The MTT method was used to determine the inhibitory rate and flow cytometry was used to assess apoptosis and to analyze the expression of the p21cip1/WAF1 and survivin proteins;the expression of p21cip1/WAF1 and survivin mRNAs was analyzed by the reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).RESULTS A er resveratrol treatment,the growth of the MG63 cells was significantly inhibited in a time-and dose-dependent fashion.By transmission electron microscopy,the cells displayed morphological changes characteristic of apoptosis,including formation of cytoplasmic vacuoles,chromatin condensation and margination.Flow cytometry showed that the growth of the cells was inhibited a er resveratrol(10 mg/L and 20 mg/L) treatment.The inhibitory rates were(11.9 ± 0.63)% and(19.7 ± 0.88)% respectively.The quantity of treated cells in G0/G1 transition was increased,but the number in the S phase and G2/M transition was decreased.A subdiploid peak was observed.The expression of p21cip1/WAF1 was up-regulated while survivin was down-regulated.CONCLUSION Resveratrol can inhibit growth and induce apoptosis of MG63 cells.Its molecular mechanism might be related to modulation of survivin and p21cip1/WAF1 expression. | Yan Liu Xin Wang Yuxin Xie Jingui Zhang Qingshan Wang Xianhui Xu | 2008 | Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology2008,5,5: | 1 |

| 19 | Partnership for eXtreme Xtallography (PX^(2))—A state-of-the-art experimental facility for extreme-conditions crystallography: A case study of pressure-induced phase transition in natural ilvaite显示文摘Single-crystal x-ray diffraction(SCXRD)is an important tool to study the crystal structure and phase transitions of crystalline materials at elevated pressures.The Partnership for eXtreme Xtallography(PX^(2))program at the GSECARS 13-BM-C beamline of the Advanced Photon Source aims to provide state-of-the-art experimental capabilities to determine the crystal structures of materials under extreme conditions using SCXRD.PX^(2) provides a focused x-ray beam(12318μm^(2))at a monochromatic energy of 28.6 keV.High-pressure SCXRD experiments are performed with a six-circle diffractometer and a Pilatus3 photon-counting detector,facilitated by a membrane system for remote pressure control and an online ruby fluorescence system for pressure determination.The efficient,high-quality crystal structure determination at PX^(2) is exemplified by a study of pressure-induced phase transitions in natural ilvaite[CaFe^(2+)_(2 )Fe^(3+)Si_(2)O_(7)O(OH),P2_(1)/a space group].Two phase transitions are observed at high pressure.The SCXRD data confirm the already-known ilvaite-I(P2_(1)/a)→ilvaite-II(Pnam)transformation at 0.4(1)GPa,and,a further phase transition is found to occur at 22.8(2)GPa where ilvaite-II transforms into ilvaite-III(P2_(1)/a).The crystal structure of the ilvaite-III is solved and refined in the P2_(1)/a space group.In addition to the ilvaite-I→ilvaite-II→ilvaite-III phase transitions,two minor structural modifications are observed as discontinuities in the evolution of the FeO6 polyhedral geometries with pressure,which are likely associated with magnetic transitions. | Jingui Xu Dongzhou Zhang Sergey N.Tkachev Przemyslaw K.Dera | 2022 | Matter and Radiation at Extremes2022,7,2: | 0 |
