| 1 | Effects of chlorogenic acid, an active compound activating calcineurin, purified from Flos Lonicerae on macrophage显示文摘AIM: To investigate the activation of chlorogenic acid (CHA) purified from Flos Lonicerae to calcineurin and its effects on macrophage functions in vivo and in vitro. METHODS: According to the screening results that Flos Lonicerae could activate calcineurin, the active component which could activate calcineurin was purified from Flos Lonicerae by column chromatography on silica gel and identified as CHA. The activation of CHA on calcineurin had been validated with both p-NPP and P-labeled RII peptide as the substrates. The clearance of charcoal particles in 32 normal mice and the cytotoxicity of U937 to MCF-7 were used together to determine the effects of CHA on macrophage functions. RESULTS: CHA could activate calcineurin, and the concentration of CHA on maximal activating calcineurin was 282.5 μmol/L. CHA administration (10 mg/kg, ig×7 d) significantly enhanced the mac- rophage functions in normal mice. CHA (70.6, 141.2, and 282.5 μmol/L) obviously increased the cytotoxicity of U937 to MCF-7. | 2 | Precuneus contributes to attentive control of finger movement显示文摘AIM: To examine whether precuneus subserves the attentive control of finger movement or whether it mediates themovement preparation and motor inhibition. METHODS: In the Preparation Stage, subjects were shown with a 5-number string in which each number stood for a key-pressing response, the number strings included a complexpattern (eg, 4-1-4-2-3), or a simple one (eg, 2-2-2-2-2), or a null one (ie, x-x-x-x-x). In the Execution Stage, fivereaction signs were presented one by one and subjects were required to press the corresponding key to each signsequentially (eg, in the 4-1-4-2-3 preparation example, subjects press key 4 to the first sign, press key 1 to thesecond sign, key 4 to the third sign and so on). For the null preparation pattern, five numbers, rather than thereaction signs, were shown at the same pace as in the other two conditions and subjects were to press the corre-sponding keys. RESULTS: Left medial frontal gyrus (BA 6) and precentral gyrus (BA 6) were involved in both ofthe Preparation Stage and the Execution Stage, whereas left precuneus (BA 7) was activated only in the ExecutionStage.
